Hearing that the New York red bulls are interested in signing soro and that he'll be allowed to leave either permanently or on loan.

Ange obviously sees him every day and knows a lot more than us fans but I'm going to through it out there and say I think it's a mistake to let him leave, I really do believe there is a quality player in there still to be developed. If he's not showing it in training or applying himself correctly then that's another matter but sometimes players that don't get a look in then move clubs and come on to some game, I do believe he falls into that bracket. He can be rash in the challenge and might get too many bookings or to but I just feel it would be a mistake to let him leave permanently.

I think the modern day football has hindered his football career.
Any contact is slowly going out of the game altogether.
Soro’s football style would be described as hard but fair only 5 years ago but now because of the modern game, it’s described as clumsy.
Soro constantly gives daft fouls away by closing down the space and snapping at his opponents heals.
It would be described as in your opponents face only a few years ago but Soro can’t breathe on the opposition now, without giving away silly fouls.
Soro will never be able to change his style, so unfortunately he’s No good to Celtic.
I would move him on as soon as possible.

Having watched the footage of I gutchi I’m more worried about him…. He doesn’t have lunge into a tackle and I think the Scottish refs will make a few honest mistakes with his tackles.

I agree, Ange doesn't rate the wee man and he's a red card waiting to happen with his style of play.

☘ ? ☘.

Boys a liability and not that good.

Soro is exactly the same as Klimala. Enthusiastic and talented enough to be decent in certain leagues at a certain level. Not our level. Let's hope our new man pulls a Peter Lawell and gets 7 figures from New York RB.

He hasn't and won't get enough game time to change and mould his style of play to fit Anges way, so probably best he moves and gets an opportunity. I do think there is a player in there though.

7.) 07 Jan 2022 12:11:08
There's no doubt he's a talented footballer. His main strength is the defensive side of the game but his problem is moments of rashness which means he often gets booked very early in games. After that he's walking a tightrope which essentially makes him a man down.

He is the only DM that I have ever seen that played for us that can't tackle.
He Was another one of the scatter gun signings when we signed 5 or 6 players hoping 2 or 3 of them worked out.

Buzz Bomb, reading your post above, that's exactly the role Lennon did for MON's team. And like you say, it was acceptable back then, so lennon rarely got pulled up for it, and, to their credit, opposition players rarely got bothered by it and just accepted it as part of the game. Like you say, its being forced out of the modern game in favour of the attacker.

Spurs reportedly want 10m if we are to sign Carter-vickers on a permanent deal. Supposedly 6m is the option to buy with another 4m in add ons.

He's impressed since he came in but can't see us breaking our transfer fee to sign him, paying the 6.5m for Jota is the priority if that deal can be done and with Jullien on the way back I think when he's fully fit he'll be straight back in the team. Most likely if CCV doesn't come back next season we'll sign 1 or 2 replacements that will cost much lower.

That’s disappointing because Carter-Vickers is a great defender.
CCV will be 24 years old on Hogmanay and he will continue to get better.

2.) 01 Dec 2021 06:35:15
10M for CCV is a non starter.
I had read somewhere that the price was closer to 5M?

3.) 01 Dec 2021 09:08:48
I don’t believe it’s anywhere near 10m. When he was joining Sky Sports were reporting a deal with an Italian team loan with obligation at £2.5m.

4.) 01 Dec 2021 09:43:54
He's out of contract at the end of this season is he not?

5.) 01 Dec 2021 10:14:21
Personally I would rather get John Souttar from Hearts especially if you are talking £10m. good defender, attacks the ball in both penalty areas and can play out/ step forward from defence.

6.) 01 Dec 2021 10:17:47
BigBubs,
CCV signed a one year extension on his contract with Spurs.
His Spurs contract expires on June 30th 2023.
His Celtic contract expires on May 31st 2022.

7.) 01 Dec 2021 12:25:41
Thanks BB. With one year remaining we should get a reasonable sale price.

Markie Souttar isn't worth 1 million never mind 10. He had all the potential in the world at one point but his development has stalled massively due to consistent injuries.

Take souter over ccv is crazy ones always Injured and ones plays every week no brainer.

Usually when a player is injured we accept what the manager says to be the ultimate truth but I can’t help but feel it’s mind games with ange and kyogo might be involved against rangers at some stage.

Ange didn’t confirm that he needed surgery or anything like that on his hamstring, he simply said he can’t put a timeframe on when he will return. He got injured 4 weeks ago and I’m sure in that time the results would have came back if he needed surgery or not. Time will tell.
