Am I correct in thinking that neither Sevco nor us can score any coefficient points for club nor country in this round of Europe?
If I am reading the Uefa website correctly, we can only gain coefficient points from last 16 onwards. But the website seems to contradict itself so if any gurus knows the truth that would be great.

Lewis.

Lewis,
What your writing makes sense because the teams who have already qualified for the last 16 are being prevented from gaining more Coefficient points.
The Scottish media don’t see it that way ( which doesn’t make them right ) because they have been reporting that a couple of nations have been breathing down our Associations necks.
Our Association sneaked into 11th place last season mainly because our Coefficient points were being divided by our only 4 representatives. ( 0.5 for win and 0.25 for draw )
This season Scotland had 5 representatives and now we only get 0.4 for a win and 0.2 for a draw ( 2 Coefficient points for a win divided by 5 and 1 Coefficient point for a draw divided by 5 )
I read that at least one of the nations that are challenging close in the Coefficient table only had 4 clubs representing their country and they will then receive more points for a win or a draw.

2.) 19 Feb 2022 13:24:05
It’s Russia just behind Scotland in 10th place but they also had 5 representatives.
Serbia are in 11th place but they only had 4 representatives.

3.) 19 Feb 2022 13:41:09
The way Russia are going, they may not be competing in anything ? . Unless it’s friendlies with China.

4.) 19 Feb 2022 13:44:38
It would make sense because the EL and ECL group winners aren't playing in this round, the ties are purely made up of 2nd places and teams dropping out the competition above. It would almost be like a punishment for teams/ countries performing well if we had an extra round to rack up more points.

5.) 19 Feb 2022 16:09:03
Lewis,
I think both yourself and the Scottish media are correct.
There’s No club Coefficient points in this round but the Association Coefficient points still count in the last 32 round.

Juranovic got man of the match tonight against Russia.
Didn't watch the game but his stats in it look good. 8 out of 10 duels won is a pretty good one.
Abada picked up an assist despite only playing 10 mins as well.

I'm coincidentally going to be in Holland for the AZ game. Does anyone know if there will be any away fans allowed at the game?

Lewis.

1.) 24 Aug 2021 15:58:41
Lewis,
No away fans will be allowed into the game.
If you manage to get a ticket for the home end, you will need to be careful due to the hooligans that follow Dutch football.

2.) 24 Aug 2021 16:51:08
Lewis, take care, Sparta, AZ and Feyanord all have a fearsome reputation with a racist right wing core of real hooligans.

3.) 24 Aug 2021 19:46:28
Not sure I fancy sitting with the home fans. I’ve done it in the past with Ajax and Feyenoord (latter was a friendly) and can blend in well because I can speak Dutch, but I might just watch this one on tv.

Direct quote from Ajer today:

A special mention also to John Kennedy, the most important person for me during my time Celtic. Without him we would never win the quadruple treble.

Most players and managers seem to speak highly of Kennedy yet fans seem to hate him and label him useless. Rodgers actually tried to take him to Leicester with him.
So why is it that so many Celtic fans dislike the man? Could someone please explain?

Lewis.

1.) 22 Jul 2021 20:49:54
Some fans are in meltdown about it.

2.) 22 Jul 2021 21:24:40
Without him, we would never win the quadruple treble.
Absolute nonsense.

3.) 22 Jul 2021 22:16:37
I wonder that myself Lewis.

4.) 22 Jul 2021 23:09:39
Good riddance to Ajer. He will certainly not be a miss.

Glad that we have now signed a real Centre Half.

Hail Hail
🍀🍀🍀.

5.) 22 Jul 2021 23:49:18
Well that's a statement and a half and a don't even what to say . honestly don't know what to think after that. makes u think.

6.) 23 Jul 2021 07:20:47
Maley, Stein, McNeil, O'Neil, Rogers eh Kennedy?

7.) 23 Jul 2021 09:49:17
What's wrong what Ajer said? HH.

8.) 23 Jul 2021 11:30:16
There's always that guy who lives the losers.
They must be friends and talking up his mate. Most of us do that. I genuinely can't remember any player manager x player etc say anything nice about Kennedy they also don't say anything bad about him. They don't say anything about him which is worse 🤣🤣.

9.) 23 Jul 2021 12:12:12
Well I remember just iver a week ago Andy, Ange said that Kennedy was excellent and has fully embrased the ideas 🤷🏻. So that's yet another professional manager who has actually watched him coach that rates him, whilst some of our fans out of pure blind ignorance think he's poor. Let's not forget Kennedy was here for a while before last season. He's being made some sort of scapegoat and to be quite honest it's wrong.

{Ed007's Note - My main beef with Kennedy is that he didn't change anything when he was temporarily in charge. I backed him because nobody in football has a bad word to say about him as a coach and even though plenty of fans put a lot of the blame on him for last season he was "only" an assistant manager and doing what NL wanted him to do.
When he got the chance to be his own man he just continued picking the same players and using the same formation/tactics that had cost Lennon his job. I'm starting to think that maybe it's something to do with his personality, he won't become any great shakes as a manager but will only ever be a good(top?) coach.

10.) 23 Jul 2021 12:34:47
I'd be lying if I said I was impressed by his short managerial stint Ed. In his defence he didn't have the time to try and pick up a side that looked totally void of confidence or ideas. Deep down I knew he wasn't going to be our manager but there's a big difference between a manager and a coach. Like you say, a coach largely bounces off the ideas of a manager.

{Ed007's Note - I think even he knew that he wasn't going to get the job permanently so why not try something a bit different, even to maybe catch another club's eye? He could have started using some of the youngsters, get the players moving the ball a bit quicker, even if the results weren't going our way I think the fans would have backed his ideas and admired him for having the (Manscaped?) balls to shake things up a bit.}

11.) 23 Jul 2021 12:31:50
A scripted statement by Celtic Football Club on Ajer’s Instagram.

12.) 23 Jul 2021 13:05:17
Fair points Ed. Do you think he'd be after his own gig somewhere at a lower level/ somewhwere with less pressure. I was delighted he didn't follow BR whether it's the club or personal reasons he stayed here I'm glad he did and as long as managers keep opting for him I hope he stays.

Whilst on the manscape is it Cork Paul I need to see about a refund? Mine's no working and I'm sick of beating round the bush! (Cough)

{Ed007's Note - I though it would have been best for all involved if Kennedy had left to take over and be his own man when the Lawwell era ended, that's why I'm starting to wonder if he does actually want to be a manager/head coach?
Paul can send you some slimfast instead...... 😁

13.) 23 Jul 2021 14:31:45
Perhaps he doesn't have the intention or knows his limitations. He won't be the first or the last coach in that boat.

14.) 23 Jul 2021 15:10:56
Kind of agree with you @JIMTIM
We tried him when Lennon was out same old rubbish I actually genuinely thought it would be different on his own but no exact same. So we all where hoping. But COMPUTER SAID NO 💪. i got sucked in. So maybe we agree he's a gd number 2. Ange must think that as well HH.

15.) 23 Jul 2021 18:36:05
Hail Hail Andy. When it comes to coaching we're all just looking from the outside in really. It's the managers ideas he's largely coaching the players and if he's good enough for the manager he's good enough for me.

16.) 24 Jul 2021 12:49:31
hail hail @jimtim {fair enough }
for the the game today im looking for improved fitness and ajeti to do his thing,

I still don’t really understand what people have against Kennedy and Strachan. What evidence do we have that they aren’t good at the jobs they are currently being asked to do?

Fantastic news, never heard of him before but if Iniesta rates him he can’t be too bad.
Things are starting to shape up nicely now and I can’t wait for the season to start.

Griff at his best is brilliant. Let’s hope Ange manages to get the best out of him. If he doesn’t perform this season he probably won’t get another contract extension, he’s had enough chances.

37 years since the Scottish league has left Glasgow though so I suppose we can't have it both ways.
I wonder what will happen first, a team outside of Glasgow winning the league or a team outside the big 5 winning the CL. Neither look like happening any time soon.

There have been 13 winners of the CL from clubs outside the 'big five' leagues. 12 of these came before the year 2000. Porto in 2004 are the most recent team to do it.

I'd like to think that we can beat any team from the Norwegian league, regardless of whether they are up to speed or not, and regardless of whether they have lost players or not.
We had a pretty good showing against a good Leverkusen and a good Betis side so surely we can do over Bodo/ Glimt?
Then again, we have lost to worse so who knows.
I'm just looking forward to some European knock-out football again. Feels like it's been a while.

It was a phenomenal first half of football. Sensational.
An absolute joy to watch.
I think our biggest problem now is what do we do when Rogic and Turnbull return? Hatate and O’Riley have well and truly exceeded my expectations. Good problem to have and I trust Ange to make the right calls.
I’m a happy Bhoy this morning ?.
