Now Ange Postecoglou is suddenly bookies favourite. So this link may sound a bit tedious but here goes.

Fergal Harkin is been widely tipped to be director of football. He’s currently high up at Man City, but this would be a promotion.

Current clubs owned by city football group:
Man City
New York City
Melbourne City
Yokohama Marinos
Montevideo City
Plus a few others.

Current manager of Yokohama Marinos is. 🥁

Ange Postecoglou.

Someone knows something about why a manager who has never been mentioned is now favourite for the job.

I think there would be uproar if this is the case.

Can't see him exciting many fans at all if he turns out to be the guy.

2.) 28 May 2021 17:30:49
Fast becoming the best comedy club in Scotland

A nobody from Japanese league is typical Celtic.

Bhoys

How about a fun Friday day question?

Lennon's Top 5 transfers compared with Lennon's worst 5 transfers?

Let voting commence!

Kevybhoy7

1.) Not counting loans.

Best
Wanyama
Hooper
Ledley
Commons
Mulgrew (tough one between him and Matthews)

Worst
Bangura
Ibrahim
Juarez
Lujnberg (sp)
Moyokolo (by the looks of it)

This is just off the top of my head, may have missed a couple

Bowbhoy

2.) Top 5 . 1 wanyama. 2 hooper. 3 matthews. 4 ledley. 5 commons. worst 5 . 1 bangura. 2 blackman. 3.lassad. 4 miku. 5 ambrose(so far). best signing of all was john park . bhoywonder

3.) BEST
1. Wanyama
2. Commons
3. Ledley
4. Matthews
5. Mulgrew

WORST
1. Cha
2. Kapo
3. Murphy
4. Miku
5. Ljungberg

mickb

4.) Bit surprised big Forster is not in anyone's top 5 so far

Ice man

5.) Best
1. Wanyama
2. Ledley
3. Hooper
4. Commons
5. Matthews (only because he's great in one position, unlike Chico Mulgrew who's a jack of all, master of nowt).

Worst
1. Bangura
2. Murphy
3. Lassad
4. Blackman
5. If I have to pick 5 it's probably Miku but I still think (like Ed) that he was forced on Lenny.

Shaunybhoy

6.) In no order

Wanyama, Lustig, Commons, Hooper, Ledley

Majstorovic, Juarez, Murphy, Ljungberg, Ambrose

Samson

7.) Best

Wanyama
Hooper
Commons
Ledley
Matthews

Worst

Lassad
Kapo
Ljunberg
Miku
Blackman

8.) Bit harsh on Cha

9.) Foster is and should be in everyone's picks, maybe no big need in the league all that much but in cl he stood on his head to help us go far.

10.) 1. Wanyama
2. Forster
3. Commons
4. Ledley
5. Matthews

1. Blackman
2. Ljunberg
3. Kapo
4. Lassad
5. Bangura

11.) Hey everyone should stop with the ljunberg rubbish,, he was a great player and he was never play that much to show how good he was .

12.) Can't believe some of you have Ambrose. Ever since the Juventus game people have been going on about how dreadful he is. He was fantastic in every CL group game and we desperately could have used him in the Karagandy away game. Ok he has his shaky moments but overall he's been a good signing who wins more than his fair share of aerial balls.
Kevbhoy

13.) 1.Wanyama
2. Hooper
3.Forster
4. Ledley
5. Commons

1.Bangura
2. Miku
3. Lassad
4. Juarez
5. Ibrahim

14.) Kevbhoy your 100% right he's been brilliant, people need to give him a break and it wasnt his decision to play in the juve game it was Lenny, Btw every leave Cha alone he was a solid right back, never got a chance due to Hinkel

15.) I have seen 2 posts that say about Forster. I hope you mean amongst the worst signings. The guy is a liability, let's take away a few decent saves last year in the CL against the amount of goals he has cost us by being a 6"7 coward. He can't take a high ball, he isn't commanding, his distribution is awful and the list goes on. It is no coincidence that every defensive partnership we have had has looked shaky, the common denominator is Forster. So to add my top 5. best, Ledley, Matthews, Commons, Stokes, Lustig and the worst, Murphy, Lassad, Lassad, Miku, FORSTER.

16.) Best SO FAR-Ledley, Hooper, Waynama, Commons, Matthews, sorry Mulgrew, Foster & Lustig. Worst- Murphy, Juarez, Broznek, Miku, Cha. Chris30

First time poster bhoys.

Do you think we will sign any of these free agents that have been banded about? Better question, do you think we need any freebies, bearing in mind that these guys are struggling to get a contract anywhere?

Personally I think the new signings should be given time to settle, only areas of concern are perhaps left back and for another striker now that Tony has left. Although Bang Bang Bangura's loan ends shortly. {Ed007's Note - Welcome to the site Kevy.}

Kevybhoy7

1.) I think that we should give the new guys time to settle but feel that we do need cover in a couple of positions and think some of the guys that are available would help. Maybe on short term contracts that would suit the club and player to put them back in the window . First time poster. HH

2.) Our second tier lads who beat the Liverpool first 11 (previously undefeated in their full pre season) need a fair run out. Secondly, a Bhoy in the shirt is a Bhoy in the shirt and we need to get behind ALL the new bhoys and give them a warm welcome and our fullest support.
Hail hail.

3.) They'll only buy players if they're good enough and they're needed. wait and trust the board :)

4.) We are still short big Style in the Centre half position and left back. We still don't know if we have a player that will fill the void left by Hooper's departure.

5.) Realy don't see the point in signing anybody on a free if they can't play in Europe, the squad we have should walk the SPL backed up by youth, perfect chance to blood the youth. If we ain't gony bother ditch lennoxtown there's no need for it.
Monkeybhoy

6.) "Wait and trust the board "somebody is having a laugh or has PL been posting on here too?? this is the same guy that has joined the SFA and yet can't wait to take Celtic to the EPL

7.) I'd take Bang Bang back into the squad in a heartbeat. All that fluster is over with. You have to noise up at the time, of course you do, but its what's best for the club that's important. He could score against AC or Barca for us, that's how to look at it.

8.) Cheers Ed

I think judging by the size of the squad injuries could give us a major headache and although I agree with sending Irvine and Watt out on loan to gain some experience, I was hoping to see something from these Bhoys this season. I really hope Balde can step up to the mark as we have been lacking a big target man since Sutton/Hartson (Killen and Murphy tried and failed horribly). From Youtube, Pukki looks excellent, but i'm sure I could collate videos of me playing 5's and make myself look like Zinedine Zidane!

Does Bangura come back from Loan in December? If so do you think he deserves another shot? Frankly his ssn interview before the match left a lot of questions about his feelings for the hoops.

9.) To be honest i'd take back bang bang also. I really want to see what he can bring to the team. I don't see broony having a problem with him an di think he'd be desperate to show us what he can do (if he wants to earn a place in team OR earn a permanent move to another team)
thought in the CL game he was ok. Not great but certainly looked to cause defenders problems. @jockdj83

10.) I think Bangura will leave in January or sooner if his contract is torn up.
He has been papped out on loan twice and is clearly not in the managers plans and I don't think he feels wanted by the club.

JJ

11.) I can't see Bangura coming back to the team at all. Remember how raging Lenny was when he decides to play against us, and I think the squad would have similar feelings towards him! Personally I think he disrespected the club in a way in which he can't be reinstated. I think he's ruined his Celtic career, if his footballing talent hadn't done that already .

Bosun Lawal, Watford academy player of the year last season looks to have signed. 18 year old central mid, recently called up to Ireland u21 team. Ed or anyone else know anything about him? Presume he’s one for the future.

Kevybhoy7

{Ed007's Note - Pish. Another project to help the board not spend any money.}

1.) 12 Jul 2021 23:16:45
Not sure if I detect a hint of sarcasm or not Ed 😂 by all accounts he seems highly rated, I mean Troy Deeney thinks he’s a player, so it must be true 😂.

{Ed007's Note - Sarcastic...... moi...... :)

2.) 13 Jul 2021 09:01:03
It would be some consolation if these so-called projects actually broke though and did a job, however, they fester in the academy, or go back and forth on loan and most eventually feck off! No way to run a business, a football club or even a menage.

3.) 13 Jul 2021 10:13:43
To be fair the lad has a bit of hype about him, looks a unit, also linked to Israeli winger liel Abada, another prospect, 1 cap for his national team, 10/ 10 for getting the prospects in, always happy for future talent, now some senior signings please so these lads have players to look up to!

4.) 13 Jul 2021 11:06:51
Lads got something I think Ange will let these young lads play make them better sell for profit. I'm actually getting excited dembelle and a few others are going to get a chance.
It's a new season a new manager so let's go.

5.) 13 Jul 2021 11:20:38
So we signed a player for the colts team. So excited 😴😴.

21 Nov 2020 22:24:03
Not posted in a while lads and ladies. What do we all thing about Lenny now? Is there a suitable replacement at this time? I’m just scunnered if I’m being honest. I don’t know the answer, but with every week another player seems to be getting alienated by Lennon. Can talk about snowflakes all you want but in the modern game Lenny is not a modern manager.

Kevybhoy7

1.) 21 Nov 2020 23:07:07
It wasn’t long ago he was saying Gerrard was throwing his players under the bus and we don’t do that at Celtic, pressure is on him massively as he seems to do it all the time now though .
Playing devils advocate here, but do you think if we weren’t going for the ten would lennie already be gone? Changing a new manager now, possibly one who doesn’t know the league or players ( of us and opposition ) is a tough gig to make up the points while reinvigorating the team or carry on with the malaise we have been in all season .

2.) 21 Nov 2020 23:21:08
My son was jumping about the living room when Laxalt scored our equaliser,
But all I was thinking was,
Is one point worth papering over the cracks?

3.) 22 Nov 2020 10:22:26
Quinn we have the best squad by far. For whatever reason Lennon isn't getting the best from the players. I've no doubt a change in coaching team would be a positive thing and I'd be confident of us winning the league. Right now though we won't. It's as simple as that.
But it's down to PL and DD. Do they want to be remembered as the men who delivered the 10 or the men who lost it.

4.) 22 Nov 2020 10:36:19
I completely agree with you HT, I said similar to my dad yesterday that we have the best squad by a mile. We have a team full of internationals, while Rangers have about 5, we should be walking all over them. I think lawell ( because he is always looking at the cheapest option) , the players ( as much as they don’t seem to want to play for lennie the mistakes they are making constantly are schoolboy at best Or the whole management team who seem to neither organise/ coach or have a plan in games and or training are all culpable this season. Usually in this situation the manager pays the cost but I don’t think lawell will change it unfortunately.

5.) 22 Nov 2020 15:21:56
Said same to my nephew buzz nlc saved his job again resign before its to late hh.

20 Jun 2019 22:41:18
So looks like the Turnbull deal is back on, what an absolute clusterf*ck of a transfer 😂 not even sure if I want him anymore, unless he can play right back?

Kevybhoy7

1.) 20 Jun 2019 22:59:49
I take it all back. This is clearly the work of that new fella hammond. Smooth operator he is. But seriously. Maybe the lads come to his senses and decided to make a sensible decision. If he's on board welcome. It's messy but it'll do for a start.

2.) 20 Jun 2019 23:18:13
Or maybe the lad was on holiday and wanted to chill out and escape from the football side of things while he relaxed, and left his agent incharge and told him not to agree to anything untill he was back from his break, and the rest is just media speculation and Celtic frustration because he wasn't going to be rushed into a deal when he was on holiday.

3.) 20 Jun 2019 23:58:50
If you think that Lanark market is a holiday destination then so be it cause he was there on Saturday night.

4.) 20 Jun 2019 23:59:14
I like my maybe scenario better. Far less deep and meaningful.

5.) 20 Jun 2019 23:59:50
I like my maybe scenario better, far less deep and meaningful.

6.) 21 Jun 2019 08:08:11
So deep profound you had to say it twice Phlip lol. HH.

08 May 2019 20:49:56
I’m not one to talk about general Social media babble, but one seems to be gathering momentum. has anyone (Ed) heard anything about Celtic giving up on Griff?

Kevybhoy7

{Ed007's Note - Isn't he due to be in the squad for the Hearts game at Celtic Park?}

1.) 08 May 2019 21:33:57
Before every game against that lot there’s always something to try and unsettle the team. Hopefully there’s nothing in it and he makes the bench at the weekend lol.

2.) 08 May 2019 21:35:37
We have all had the same texts but 2 or 3 Saturdays ago a seen Griff at 8am driving out the training ground! He had obviously been training so I’m for 1 not believing it.

{Ed007's Note - Somebody asked about this the other day and I said he had spent a fair bit of time at Craig Tara over the weekend at a kids football event and now I see what the Club has said and LG has put out on social media I'd say there's some mischief making going on.}

3.) 08 May 2019 21:56:19
I don't believe a word of it.

4.) 08 May 2019 22:17:19
All this does is give Griffiths extra ammunition to come back stronger and better than ever. Which he will. Really can't wait for the day he takes to the field what a reception he is going to get. It will be some sight to see him put the ball in the back of the net.

5.) 08 May 2019 23:03:06
Ive seen people saying bin griff n get hooper back, deary me. The guy is fighting mental illness and people want a guy back who left at the first chance then realised he's not as good as he thought. Griff will run through walls for us when he's fit. can't wait to see him in the hoops again.

6.) 09 May 2019 00:56:39
What a way for him to come back with a bang by scoring against Hearts. Will do him world of good.

7.) 09 May 2019 08:34:12
Dealing with the run-of-the-mill Scottish Media's negativity and mischief making (especially before Sevco or important games) has been par for the course for generations; however, 'social media' opens up an even more malicious and tasteless route for lowlifes and nutters.

8.) 09 May 2019 10:37:49
Leigh shouldn't be anywhere near first team for remaining games he's not kicked a ball in seriousness for months. He should prepare for next season with a proper pre season Inc friendlies. In my opinion it would be unfair on players who have brought us within one win of treble only to be dropped from squad for sentiment towards leigh.

9.) 09 May 2019 11:37:25
If he is fit enough, he should play, if he isn't, he shouldn't play, nothing to do with sentiment.

25 Apr 2019 19:41:08
Having a quick look at our squad (I know this has been done to death, but wanted some opinion on what we do with the next window. Looking at the squad, it potentially needs some reasonably major surgery.

GK Bain
GK Gordon (Likely to leave)
GK De Vries (End of contract)

CB Simunovic
CB Ajer
CB Hendry (Should leave)
CB Compper (Should leave)
CB Benkovic (Back to Leicester)
CB Boyata (End of contract)

LB KT
RB Ralston (Clearly not rated)
LB Izzy (End of contract)
RB Lustig (End of contract)
RB Toljan (Back to Dortmund)
RB Gamboa (End of contract)

CM Broony
CM McGregor
CAM Rogic
CAM Christie
CM Ntcham (Doesn’t look interested)
CM Bitton (Should leave)
CM Mulumbu (Should leave)
CM Kouassi (Should leave)
CM Allan (End of contract)

LW Hayes
LW Arzani
LW Morgan
LW Oko-flex
LW Sinclair (End of contract)

RW Forrest
RW Johnstone
RW Shved
RW Burke (Back to West Brom)

CF Eddie
CF Griff (Will he be the same player?
CF Bayo (Can he even play? )
CF Weah (Back to PSG)

In my opinion then, we need;
GK - a good backup for Scott Bain
CB x2 - First choice and backup.
LB - With Tierney’s injury worries, a solid backup.
RB - first choice (would keep Lustig as backup) .
CM - If Ntcham is sold.
CF - Weah? May need two though depending on Griff/ Bayo status.

We are painfully short at the back and overloaded on the wings, but if this season has taught us anything is that the backup players should be of good quality and hungry to make an impact.

Kevybhoy7

{Ed007's Note - Sinclair has another year to run on his contract, he signed a 4-year deal when he joined.}

1.) 25 Apr 2019 20:46:54
The 2 yank full backs are still to come in plus adding a few here and there we should be ok.

2.) 25 Apr 2019 21:04:09
Where do I start? Your post is full of nonsense opinions most of which I disagree with. Major surgery my arse. There isn’t a team in Britain outside the EPL that would be disappointed to start next season with most of that squad. We’ll add a few here and there but no need for panic.

3.) 25 Apr 2019 21:11:39
Oko-flex? He isn't close to the first team!

4.) 25 Apr 2019 21:19:03
Every year we have some fans calling for massive rebuilds . We can't do that and we shouldn't . We must promote players from within . I know some people have their mind made up by watching a single match .
Scouting has become so easy, it isn't long ago since scouts had to travel all over Britain& further a field and concentrate on just the one player and watch every move and do that over several games . Now it seems all we have to do is watch a bit of a match and decide.

5.) 25 Apr 2019 21:19:53
I think Celtic can extend Sinclairs contract by one year, or they can release him at the end of this season, or is that rubbish?

{Ed007's Note - Rubbish. Google "Scott Sinclair signs for Celtic".}

6.) 25 Apr 2019 22:18:32
According to the sun Celtic have the option to trigger a one year extension to sinclairs contract. I just googled extension on sinclairs contract. Whether its correct or not I knew I read it and they have also mentioned it on the radio.

{Ed007's Note - F THE SUN!!! And F Radio Clyde!!

Watched quite a few games so far, there is that worry about World/ Euro Cup fever. Few of the players from Sweden and Austria that I thought would be in our price range are way out of it. I think Danny Ward (GK) and Connor Roberts (RB) have looked good for Wales though and Jere Uronen (LB) for Finland. Problem with the Euros is that a lot of players representing their countries will be due a break when it's done, which could coincide with the champs league qualifiers.

I can certainly see Christie leaving, standards have slipped big time, although a lot of his performances seem to have been as a makeshift right winger.

I like Frimpong but he’s not a particularly good defender and his final ball isn’t good enough to be a winger. So I don’t really know what his best position is.

Are there any players you realistically think Celtic can bring in? Or maybe a better question, any you think can make the step up? I. e. Connell, Oko-Flex, Coffey. Looks like Karamoko isn’t part of the long term strategy which seems a shame.
