I've heard Lenny and the coaching staff have been massively impressed with Jonathan Afolabi since he arrived at the club. He is now training daily with the first team although he will continue to play games with the development squad. Don't be surprised to see him make some match day squads in the near future. At 19 he is the same age French Eddy was when he arrived. Could be another superstar in the making.

Ice Man

1.) 28 Sep 2019 00:11:51
That was a brilliant goal he scored the other day in the game against Morton, I think it was, for the reserves, the games on YouTube, .

25 Aug 2019 12:02:36
So Sutton was quizzed regarding his statement last week about the Meling deal being almost over the line. His response:

"As we all know there are complications when it comes to transfer deals"

He should have changed it to:

"As we all know when Celtic are involved there are complications when it comes to transfer deals".

Ice Man

1.) 25 Aug 2019 12:25:14
Or could Sutton just have said I don't actually know anything about Celtics transfer dealing and was just trying to stay relevant?

2.) 25 Aug 2019 20:55:37
So you don't like Sutton either Kev?

21 Aug 2019 19:45:17
A fella I used to work with is a big Sheff Wed fan. He messaged me today to say he's been told Celtic have made an approach to take Jordan Rhodes on loan.

Ice Man

1.) 21 Aug 2019 20:22:17
@ Ice Man
I really hope NOT, overrated.

2.) 21 Aug 2019 20:38:14
Hope not he is Single Fish.

3.) 21 Aug 2019 20:42:08
Never really hit the hights I thought he was going to.

4.) 21 Aug 2019 21:15:22
God a hope no he's hopeless.

5.) 21 Aug 2019 21:35:42
Remember back in the day you all said pukki was rotten just saying.

6.) 21 Aug 2019 21:52:51
Pukka was rotten.

7.) 21 Aug 2019 22:28:35
Rm1888 considering how pukki said he wasn't ready for Celtic and that after leaving he realised he was a bit lazy and wasn't working hard enough after his international boss had words with him. He went away worked hard, got better and bigger, then earned his big chance again.
So at time people were right to day he wasn't good enough for Celtic.

8.) 21 Aug 2019 22:57:31
Holy f@ck, I’ve been more than critical of the board/ club over the years given my age, older than than the spoilt posters coming on now .
If players can score goals and that’s all they need to do, then they will at Celtic!
Rhodes is not single fish
Granted it’s a rumour and given the way things are going, I’d take Rhodes to score goals week in week out in this single fish league that at this minute we won’t win ☺️.

9.) 21 Aug 2019 23:49:18
More EPL hat-tricks than u 😂.

10.) 22 Aug 2019 10:14:44
Quick to jump in correct me kev but my point is players improve for emample James Forrest now or James Forrest from 6/ 7 years ago rohdes is goal scorer would destroy teams up here.

11.) 22 Aug 2019 10:30:43
well said Bigbadjohn1888 Rhodes would score for fun up here.

01 Jul 2019 19:49:46
According to reports Zenit St Petersburg to bid £9m for Tom Rogic. I would sell him for that. Time to move him on.

Ice Man

1.) 01 Jul 2019 20:02:41
Snap their hands of, get some add ons as well, £1m every time he's on the treatment table, we will be rolling in it.

2.) 01 Jul 2019 20:04:32
Jeezo if this is true carlsberg really do Glasgow Celtic transfer windows would love this to be true.

3.) 01 Jul 2019 20:04:54
I would have to agree
Has magic in his feet, but his body must be made of glass.

4.) 01 Jul 2019 20:05:12
SELL SELL SELL SELL SELL SELL SELL.

5.) 01 Jul 2019 20:37:52
Taxi for Rogic 🚕.

6.) 01 Jul 2019 20:39:06
Yea while I do like Rogic, I just can't stand the fact he is injured so often. Also when he is crap he is really crap, I would take 9m no problem but I'd also try and get more first as you never know.
Could easily be replaced for that kind of money!

7.) 01 Jul 2019 20:56:35
I'd sell him for half that.
Discount available if off our hands by this weekend.

8.) 01 Jul 2019 20:58:36
I'd take half that to move him on.

9.) 01 Jul 2019 21:06:41
I'll drive him to St Petersburg for that amount.

10.) 01 Jul 2019 21:08:56
Take the 9mil
5 goes to Celtic and I'll take 4 and carry him all the way to st petersburg
I think some might do it cheaper than me though.

11.) 01 Jul 2019 21:11:25
He would get injured on the way to the medical.

12.) 01 Jul 2019 21:16:13
I think you guys are a bit harsh. Admittedly he wasn’t the same player last season when he came back after serious injury but was a big game player who scored the big goals for a couple of seasons before last season.
£9m would be good deal for the club but he’s not that bad I’d offer to drive him to the Airport .

13.) 01 Jul 2019 21:25:08
Well said GGGG. The guys scored some big and imporant goals for us and this is the respect he gets.

14.) 01 Jul 2019 23:34:00
GGGG and United Ireland your right he has scored some big goals but he does it about once or twice a season.
His stats are shocking.
34 goals in six years?
His assist rate isn't to clever either.
He's plays in the most creative area in the park and hardly ever creates or scores.

15.) 01 Jul 2019 23:54:04
I'd snap the hands off them for £6m to be fair. If the entire fee got invested in to buying a top notch replacement.

16.) 02 Jul 2019 09:25:32
We apparently want 15 for him.

17.) 02 Jul 2019 16:25:40
Is this really the time, 2 out from the 10, to be dismantling the team? We’ll have no one left from at this rate.

22 Jun 2019 11:02:44
If KT is to leave us this summer I really hope we go for the lad Melling from Rosenberg as his replacement.

Ice Man

1.) 22 Jun 2019 11:49:27
He's no gaun!

2.) 22 Jun 2019 13:24:45
I would like to know where all the Dembele, VVD Sell on money etc has gone, that we look to be selling one of our main assets.

3.) 22 Jun 2019 14:48:38
We’re not actively trying to sell KT to get cash in. But if a team meets our valuation of him and it’s a move he’d like to pursue, we won’t stand in his way. If he goes it won’t be because we are kicking him out the door, it’ll be because he wants to move to further his career. What Robertson’s achieved at Liverpool will certainly have KT thinking that he’d like some of that.

The 10 might be huge to us fans, but players have short careers. He won’t hang around if a club like Arsenal want him and meet our valuation IMO.

4.) 22 Jun 2019 15:17:35
If we can keep tierney past this window, i think he'll stay until after the 10 is won.

5.) 22 Jun 2019 15:48:40
I said it last transfer window and believe the same this window, he will be here until the 10 is wrapped up at minimum, that's just my opinion I work with an arsenal fan, he's adamant that we will let him go to them for 15 million, I buckled with laughter at the arrogance and said to him as I said above, with the added 'he's a bhoy living his dream, playing for the team he supports and came through the youth academy, he will want to leave a legend if and when he does leave so he's here for the 10' it pretty much clamped him haha.

6.) 22 Jun 2019 16:02:52
Sjaldad it went on thing like the 62 million wage bill and things like that.

Do people not realise that there is millions of pounds worth of money that goes out our club in the form of bills and wages before a transfer budget can even be prepared?

The club will need about 60-80 million this season to run.

7.) 22 Jun 2019 16:04:07
guys, everyone asks were all the money goes. we have a club who pays terrific wages we have a near world class stadium that needs to be maintained we have a pitch that is the envy of all scotland (even thou it wasnt as good last year as it should have been) we have an infrastructure and a business model envied by a huge part of europe we have 60000 bums on seats we have a treble treble so gentleman and ladies that's were a lot of our money goes, o nearly forgot the disco lights again an envy of europe. that is why we are glasgow celtic hh.

8.) 22 Jun 2019 16:14:03
I don't know if Kieran will leave before or after the 10 but surely to God arsenal shouldn't be his destination I would think he could do better than that arsenal can't compete anymore for EPL never mind champions league.

9.) 22 Jun 2019 16:19:04
I think he would jump at the chance to sign for Arsenal tbh. He would get a game in a far better league and have a realistic chance of having an extended European run. There’s no doubt he bleeds green but I think he would move if a club that stature in BPL went for him.
I base this on him hardly distancing himself from Everton in the past and it was only a couple of years ago he was comparable in ability to Robertson and will want to prove he is as good of not better.
Think £20m would secure his services.
It’s win win if he stays brilliant if he goes In sure we will receive hefty fee and he will return in 4 or 5 years.

10.) 22 Jun 2019 16:53:12
C'mon Kev that's too much like common sense. Personally I'd have let Brown go this season and gave his wages and armband to Tierney to keep him for another couple of years.

11.) 22 Jun 2019 19:35:37
I think the best we can hope is we're using the arsenal link like a dozen clubs have done us. Wee bidding war starts and see what we can get from it.

12.) 23 Jun 2019 00:33:07
Well let's be honest about this. Did anyone expect anything else after we appointed NL full time. It is patently obvious that a lot of our young talent don't rate him or his methods and are looking elsewhere. I for one don't blame them.

Eddy on the scoresheet for the French U/ 21's inside the first minute.

Ice Man

1.) 10 Oct 2019 20:57:19
That’s worrying the laddie is drawing more and more attention to himself. Pedro is probably watching the game with his calculator and next years holiday brochure. (PS: I’m a big Lawwell fan and he can look after my cash any day of the week) . Seriously the good news is Eddy is on fire and is as happy as I’ve seen him under Mr. Lennon.

2.) 11 Oct 2019 11:37:57
Eddie punted in summer to balance the books. Big Uche Ikpeazu brought in. Lumping balls up the park for fun.

07 Oct 2019 00:08:58
Ed what's your thoughts on the Griff situation? Is it just a genuine injury or is there maybe something else going on? Lennon said he would see where his fitness is at by the end of the year which is almost three months away. I know he said he felt his thigh strain again on Friday due to his fitness levels not being great but I can't help but think things may run a bit deeper.

Ice Man

{Ed007's Note - Lennon said he expects LG to be back in the squad for the end of this month. He had a thigh strain then picked up some kind of viral infection so it's now just a matter of him getting his fitness levels back up to scratch.}

1.) 07 Oct 2019 10:29:26
Really think we need to add a 'penalty box' striker in January to take the strain off Eddy as I don't see Bayo scoring 15-20 and Griff may not get back to his best?

2.) 07 Oct 2019 12:00:49
He picks up some amount of viruses eh?

30 Sep 2019 17:22:41
It's seems some of the posters on here also work for The Scotsman. A story was run today on how Lennon's odds of being sacked have been slashed. 🙈. One draw, one bloody draw. The lunatics have taken over the asylum.

I don't know what's going on. Sacked for doing everything right. Best start in years in all cups top of the league. Oh and I nearly forgot plenty of money in the bank we sold out two or more top players. Great profit they will show up in Celtic account soon. Just support your team as for media ignore there crap they want headlines to say CELTIC FC RIP.
they hate it we are in a gd place. As for the nagativity our own fans are getting worse. I feel I'm defending Celtic when we are on top why is that?

2.) 30 Sep 2019 18:41:56
Guys the er "reporter" that writes most of these stories is a current, and is well known for his anti Celtic slant on their stories.

3.) 30 Sep 2019 20:11:19
Ignore the negative - we had a blip against the cabbage but we are still top so enjoy.
People can find the negative in anything if they look hard enough - perhaps if they put as much energy in celebrating unprecedented success over the last few years as they do trying to find fault then who knows where that might take them - a smile perhaps?
17.1% of the way to winning the league - onwards.

15 Sep 2019 00:17:28
Ed any idea why next Sunday's game against Killie is a 1pm kick off. Seems strange as these games always tend to be 3pm on the Sunday after a Europa game.

Ice Man

{Ed007's Note - TRIFC are away to St Johnstone and is a 12:15 KO and the Edinburgh derby is at 3 with both matches live on TV.}

1.) 15 Sep 2019 11:39:26
Why does that matter to our kick off if we ain t on the telly ed?

{Ed007's Note - I don't really know tbh mate but I'm sure I read that somewhere when it was announced. The only other thing I think it could be is that it stops Celtic and TRIFC fans all arriving in Glasgow at the same time or meeting during travelling.}

2.) 15 Sep 2019 13:08:13
That's would make sense I suppose ed.

{Ed007's Note - 👍

06 Sep 2019 16:56:07
I hate the thought of losing our best players but I really think we need to be searching for Eduoard's replacement right now. If Eddie continues to progress like he is I reckon some of Europe's top clubs will come calling and I believe we will get more money for him than we got for KT. I don't know if Afolabi was brought in to develop as Eddies replacement or if Nicky Hammond is currently scouting European markets for a young striker but I feel now is the time to get it done because Eduoard is a top top player.

Ice Man

1.) 06 Sep 2019 17:22:03
Bayo could possibly be his replacement?

2.) 06 Sep 2019 18:00:23
Need to see what bayo has in the locker first Malky bhoy.

3.) 06 Sep 2019 19:30:42
First impressions are promising👍.

4.) 06 Sep 2019 20:19:50
Posted not long ago wondering how long we'd be able to keep a hold of Édouard, as I said then, I hope it's a while yet.

5.) 06 Sep 2019 21:03:57
Lets just enjoy the bhoy while we have him, PL and NL will know what they have . Would not surprise me one bit to see him get a bumper new deal with the acceptance that we look at offers at the end of next season . Just my opinion.

6.) 06 Sep 2019 21:26:21
It's like being stuck between a rock and a hard place, do we keep our best players or do we sell them for £20+ millon😉.

{Ed007's Note - We're not really stuck anywhere, Malky. There comes a time when, for whatever reason, our top players will move on or at least fancy it. Nobody is getting forced out the door and nobody is being forced to stay, 99% of transfers are mutually agreed a la KT.}

7.) 06 Sep 2019 21:54:07
Just watching Afolabi come on as a sub for Ireland u21's he is a striker, hustle and bustle in and around the box, he going to do good things for Celtic.

8.) 06 Sep 2019 22:03:19
Nice positive post he's a Celtic player enjoy till he's not a Celtic player there's no point worrying till it happens and id imagine lenny would be on the case.

9.) 06 Sep 2019 22:36:57
I thought that was the point of having a signed contractural agreement between a player and a club, the player can't be forced out before the end of his contract, and the player can't force his way out of the club before the end of his contract, but they don't seem to be worth the paper they are written on, judging by the amount of players who become "unhappy with the contract they signed, or unhappy with the club, that they signed the contract with, and force their way out of the club by various methods ", what is the point of having a contract?, if no-one pays it any credence, when push comes to a shove.

10.) 07 Sep 2019 12:53:08
So when we do lose them we get compensation to replace.

Nothing like a bit of positivity before a ball is even kicked. No doubt if we lose today you’ll all come back on saying I told you so and “ should have picked the team I suggested”. Let’s get behind the team 🍀.

Kev you come across as an arrogant tosser as other posters have pointed out. Constantly telling posters their opinions are nonsense. I didn’t want Lenny to get the managers job permanently but now he has it I will back him. I also know he was majorly at fault during the week with his team selection but I will not call for him to be sacked. It’s looks like you’re desperate for Lennon to fail so you can come on here and say I told you so even if it means the demise of the team.

And are the club being constantly fined for people smoking in the toilets or entering the stadium under the influence? It’s a pointless argument. Pyrotechnics are against the rules so stop using them. Whether people agree with it or not doesn’t matter.

Ice Man

{Ed007's Note - It's not pointless because it's still against the law and the rules. So you're happier with people breaking the law of the land AND the Clubs own rules than UEFA's rules because they cost us a couple of grand?
What about all the other fines we've received from UEFA, have we just to ignore them to blame everything on the standing section? Have you been onto the Club about the amount of charges for blocked stairways or the charges about the team's behaviour?
Just because something's in the rules doesn't mean people need to follow them, did you agree that LG should have been banned for tying a scarf at Linfield, and remember, it's against the rules? T
here's thousands more people break the law & rules inside the stadium every game than 2 or 3 guys with smokebombs but you're right that it doesn't matter because happily the flares are here to stay 👍 just like idiot drunk fans and panty-wetters.
If you feel so strongly why not get a job as a steward?}

10 Oct 2019 12:22:13
The bottom line is pyrotechnics are are banned by UEFA therefore nobody should be bringing them into the stadium. No matter if you think they look good or are not dangerous they are against the rules and trying to justify people using them is just stupid.

Ice Man

{Ed007's Note - It's also illegal to smoke in footballing stadiums or enter a stadium while under the influence of alcohol, should we be breathalysing everyone going into the stadium and if you're over the 'legal limit' you don't get in?
Should supporters be running to stewards to grass about people smoking in the toilet or the two wee old guys that sit and share a hipflask during the game for a few halves?
We are sponsored by betting and alcohol companies - two of the biggest problems in our society - and it's constantly rammed down our throats, moaning about a couple of smoke bombs is beyond stupid in comparison.
So should we enforce ALL rules or just the ones you want? I know that I'd rather sit next to a guy with a smokebomb than sit and listen to some stupid drunk (a law and Club rule breaker) sleverring in my ear all game.}
