If Tierney goes it’ll be right at end of English transfer deadline then we will have 3 weeks to spend the £ widely and hopefully by that time we will just about be ready to qualify for CL.

Heaney1888

1.) 02 Aug 2019 11:28:05
You are kidding aren't you about us spending the money we make IF KT goes. We haven't had a RB all summer and you think PL will spend the money we get from any one LMAO yeah we have brought in players I know but I think a RB is an important position that should never not be covered.

2.) 02 Aug 2019 11:44:45
We have a right back.

3.) 02 Aug 2019 11:47:15
We have bought a RB, the boy from Israel is our RB. everyone keeps saying he is a CB but the boy himself said he is a RB and only moved to CB last season as cover.

4.) 02 Aug 2019 12:07:24
I thought he was a CB my wrong sorry.

Santi cazorla leaving arsenal surely he'd be worth a punt if we could get him he just needs games to get fit 👌🏻.

Heaney1888

1.) 21 May 2018 20:12:51
Santa 🎅 Claus gets less time off than Cazorla 😝.

2.) 21 May 2018 20:56:58
Need to think outside the box if we are to do anything in Europe the wee Spanish playmaker could be exactly what we need but doubt we’d be able to get him anyway tbh major injury apart we’d have no hope in hell of getting him.

3.) 21 May 2018 21:47:03
Santi Boerrigter.

4.) 22 May 2018 05:52:19
Santiary Towel Kev 🤣.

5.) 22 May 2018 09:40:16
If players are currently with richer clubs on funny money, then rule them out immediately. It’s not going to happen.

The only exception to that would be older players at the end of their careers who might fancy it on what we could afford. Younger players aren’t going to leave for much less.

We need to find good players not already on huge amounts but capable of doing so in a year or two by playing well in the CL now.

Established highly paid players are not in our focus.

6.) 22 May 2018 12:47:45
i called Borrigter Douglas Bader Kev lol.

29 Jun 2015 21:30:03
Heard a rumour McGeady will be possibly heading back to Celtic. Wouldn't mind but it'll stop emerging talent mackay-Steven or Armstrong getting a game plus he will be on big wages I'd rather we used money elsewhere cover at left back and Cb and striker Aka vossen

Heaney1888

1.) 29 Jun 2015 21:59:26
I've nothing against the lad but I really hope this doesn't happen. Fair play to him, he got us a mega transfer fee when he left but I personally wouldn't want him back. He may have played in stronger leagues but I don't think his career has progressed since he left.

2.) 29 Jun 2015 23:09:19
If RD is serious about quality over quantity I would take McGeady back and punt Forrest and Stokes to make room for him

3.) 30 Jun 2015 06:28:53
Totally agree cw , can't understand why some Celtic fans don't like him .

4.) 30 Jun 2015 07:52:03
I know he plays a different wing and not everyone will agree but I rate Forrest higher than McGeady.

5.) 30 Jun 2015 08:51:03
If wee James could keep himself fit then he'd be a great asset to Celtic , he did not too bad in the fitness stake near the end of last season , Aidan has lost his way a bit in the last couple of years , get rid of Boeriggter and have wee James and Aidan as the wide players .

6.) 30 Jun 2015 11:35:20
Forrest has not progressed. He flatters to deceive. His final baw and finishing are abysmal IMO. I want him moved on but have my doubts anyone wants him. Never heard if any actual buds for him. As for mcgeadyi would take him, Forrest isn't on the same planet.

I’d love us to get James McCarthy as a player to ultimately replace brown he’s been great so far but his legs can’t go on forever if he plays every game he won’t nearly as effective.

Heaney1888

1.) 31 Jul 2019 03:29:37
Agree that brown can’t go forever and will inevitably slow down, but replacing him with a player who’s constantly injured isn’t the answer! Rate McCarthy but will he ever be a consistent performer again? I have. My doubts!

2.) 31 Jul 2019 07:43:08
I feel brown will definitely be played in all our qualifiers and group stage games but with a possible new midfielder coming and the players we have he could be used more sparingly in the league especially at home.
However make no mistake about it he is the heart beat of this team. if you thought lustig was hard to replace brown will be impossible. His presence in the dressing room alone never mind on the pitch is enormous. A true captain and leader.

3.) 31 Jul 2019 07:44:20
McCarthy if he could stay fit would be brilliant for celtic.

4.) 31 Jul 2019 08:15:10
Brown and McCarthy are two different players.

5.) 31 Jul 2019 08:35:55
There's a good chance Brown's legs will last longer than McCarthy's.

6.) 31 Jul 2019 11:36:27
Why would we sign a guy that's injured 80 percent of the time. good player but wouldn't go there.

7.) 31 Jul 2019 12:56:03
Funny but true Wyllie.

19 Jul 2019 10:09:39
For anyone that has said in the past about us signing Stuart Findlay, hopefully last night answers the question y we let him go and how we won’t sign him painfully slow last night caught out position tbh that’s answered my question about Greg Taylor and Stephen O’donnell aswell. Not good enough for us if we want to move forward.

Heaney1888

1.) 19 Jul 2019 12:40:15
Couldn't agree more. Learn from Hendry signing that spl market won't take us forward. Don't think there is much talent there.

2.) 19 Jul 2019 12:53:08
is signing a guy who has failed twice in Belgium . who dinamo bucherest wouldn't spend 100000 on, who isn't even a rb the way forwards.

3.) 19 Jul 2019 13:08:53
I think you are all correct because I don't believe any of the players mentioned are good enough for a starting eleven Celtic team, maybe back up at a push.

Don't know how true this is but would make sense if it is-It's all coming out now PL was backing Rodgers he gave him 9 million to get big Eddie very early in the transfer window and was lining up McGinn and that Right back for 6 million, Then the Chinese came in for Rodgers he asked Dembele if he would go with him Dembele said no he didn't want to go to the Far East, that's why Boyata said **** this I'm not signing on, if he's leaving. the whole team new that Rodgers wanted to leave that's why they dipped in form at the beginning of the season, Lawwell had to be peeled off of Rodgers saying I've just gave you 9 million to spend and your ready to **** off, that's why he halted the McGinn move because he didn't think Rodgers was going to be there. Then the Chinese thing fell through, And Desmond had to come up and tell Rodgers to get his rubbish together, these are the words of ********* who's got 4 seats in the directors box.

1.) 28 Feb 2019 19:34:00
That's all over the place but lawwel never halted the mcginn deal. He matched everything with villa and mcginn chose them.

2.) 28 Feb 2019 19:40:19
HaHa Ed is that Dr Cox from scrubs? It seems far fetched but in hindsight now there must have been some reason for our poor form in the first half of the season. I'm just picturing PL getting dragged away from Rodgers slobbering and screaming haha. I hope that did happen haha.

{Ed007's Note - So it is, I never noticed that, Britney 😉

3.) 28 Feb 2019 20:12:09
Sounds like there is a bit of truth in the story I’ve no idea but here’s ma take based on the dots I’ve joined. Brendan Tadgers ego was too big for the North of Ireland so he bailed out at 18 thus he is more West Brit than Esst Antrim. That was his first BRexit. His reputation was in tatters in England after being sacked at Liverpool when Stevie G string fell on his arse. The sun at nned snake never wanted to be at Celtic but used us to rebuild his reputation at the only big club in Scotland that would take him. He spouted the dream job and I’m a supporter pish and (I’ll speak for myself) I was taken in because the imposter is good. At the first sign of his rebuilt reputation being in danger after the arrival of Stevie G and pumping at Ibronx he decided I’ve spent two and a half years at a place I didn’t want to be trying my best to get back to mother England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 (Rule Britannia playing in the background) im not for risking that so although you’re wiling to wait for me until end of season Leicester I’d rather come just now please. Which explains why he was willing to leave via the back door forever remembered as a James Hunt rather than wait 12 weeks and leave by the front door a legend. Lesson. Never trust a Scotsman or an Irishman with a feckn sun tan and white teeth it’s no natural. A wee feckn snake in the grass phoney fraud egotistical imposter.

4.) 28 Feb 2019 20:18:49
Nice Ed but it should have been Brenda not Britney haha.

I liked what Lenny said after the game about getting it up to the front three a lot quicker, it's good that while he acknowledged that things aren't broken he still has his ideas on how we could improve, and who knows he might just earn himself the job again.
It's like Solskjaer at Man U, can they appoint anyone else now?

{Ed007's Note - Solskjaer will be offered the job if the club can get a Champions League place. If not Solskjaer then Allegri might be a good shout. Utd had a plan for Allegri to take over from Van Gaal in 2017 but after the board were forced to take action over Van Gaal's reign they needed a manager quickly in 2016 and they reluctantly offered the job to Mourinho and he reluctantly said yes.}

5.) 28 Feb 2019 20:48:59
I didn't know that I thought Mourinho had that job in the bag to be honest. Allegri I think would take them back to where they were, though Solskjaer was one of my favourite players back in the day. So what about Mourinho for Celtic? Mancini did say he would like to manage us one day too I'm sure I remember hearing that.

{Ed007's Note - Mancini said that when we were playing Zenit and he was managing them, I can't see him leaving the Italian job for the SPFL especially when he's not even a year into the job.
Mourinho hates the city of Manchester, he thinks it's too drab & grimy and there was a feeling at board level that he was still hankering after a return to Chelsea in some capacity.
I'd rather take Solskjaer than Mourinho - there's no way Jose will rock up in the East End of Glasgow if he thinks Manchester's a $hitehole lol - but only if we were bringing in a DOF too, his time at Cardiff was a bit of a disaster but that was always going to be a big ask but he does like his teams to play good football football. His lack of experience in Europe would be a worry.}

6.) 28 Feb 2019 22:36:15
I got sent that today by guy always seems to know bits n pieces. tbh they could be putting 2x2 together but something must have been up from the summer window the transfers since eddy haven't quite reaches those heights as if they knew not to back him long term as he was for the off and knew they’d need to do a rebuilding job anyway 👍🏼.

7.) 28 Feb 2019 22:52:41
I'd take Solskjaer before Mourinho too, but talking of European experience, we have a guy in the dugout just now who has already taken us to the last 16 of the CL and I think we have a better squad now than the one we had then. Lennon here for 10IAR?

8.) 01 Mar 2019 01:56:43
Yeah but every team in Europe also has better squads to though.

26 Jan 2019 10:48:05
If Rodgers does decide to leave due to financial restraints hindering him can only see that as a cause unless the rumours of him and Lawell falling out are true. I'd like to think we should turn to Steve Clark think he's a great man manager and like how he comes across in interviews, Kilmarnocks budget is minuscule in comparison and he's did a great job their so can't see why he would do well at us if Rodgers decides to vacate the hot seat.

Heaney1888

1.) 26 Jan 2019 11:27:29
Steve Clark would definitely be on a list of candidates for the job but I for one hope brendan sticks around for 10 in a row at least, same with Scott brown. Sure brendan may not have gotten every single decision correct in his time here he’d be the first to admit that himself, like everyone else no one is perfect but the man has came to Scotland, won every domestic trophy to date and looking good for another treble this season. No one is privy to all that goes on behind the scenes but the results speak for themselves, sure there will come a time like in most cases people move on but for now we should be doing ever in our power to keep the man content and keep him at Celtic for as long as is possible.

2.) 26 Jan 2019 11:28:52
Would the board then cut funding even more as Clarke works wonders on a miniscule budget.?

3.) 26 Jan 2019 11:45:58
I want Brendan to stay.
If he does eventually move on, Steve Clarke is the obvious choice.
I had a small bet at 8/ 1 for Clarke to be manager when Ronnie got the position, so I have always been a big fan. I can remember we were always linked to buy him when he was a player.
I also like his attitude. the way he boycotted the meeting with Fleming and the sfa shows he has his own mind and sticks to it.
I had to laugh at slippy g saying they dominated up until the equaliser against killie and then they fell out the game. It was to do with Clarke tactically out smarting the rookie manager and slippy didn't know how to react.

4.) 26 Jan 2019 14:18:11
I think Clarke would be a good manager when we are playing in Europe. Wouldn't be drubbings by 5 or 6 but does he play the pretty football the fans like to see? Grinding results domestically doesn't go down well with the fans look at Delia. I don't think this window will determine BR status as our manager it's the summer window. With all the players due out of contract I think he'll expect to have a considerable budget to mould the squad for 10IAR. If not this window then a RB and 2 CB and possibly GK too. Perhaps a CDM to cover the loss of Broony if he decides to leave too.

5.) 26 Jan 2019 14:39:04
Where is this coming from lads?
Every manager that comes to our club knows fine well the cash restraints from day-one because of the emphasis the club places on the business side of Celtic PLC.
The priorities (since MON anyway) have been the stadium, Celtic Way, The pending Hotel complex, Sponsorship, Image Rights, Share prices, Bank Balances and bonuses etc.
BR came in with his eyes wide-open and in fairness has been backed pretty well so far - breaking the club transfer record in process.

Of course - like every other manager - he is always 2/ 3 players away from his ideal team, but he has done a bloody good job with what the squad he has assembled at present and still has much more to create and achieve at the club he loves.
He has created history in his first season and apart from a few dips here and there, we are still the top side in the country, with a trophy in the cabinet, leading the SPL and still in Europe.

OK transfer activity has been a cause for concern, but at present we have the largest - most expensive - squad ever assembled and there needs to be activity both ways to balance the books.
I don't know how much friction/ bad feeling there is between BR and PL, but I reckon DD would be quick to act to appease the manager.

6.) 26 Jan 2019 14:59:02
It’s media pish talk. Stop getting suckered by Jabba and his drivel.

7.) 26 Jan 2019 14:18:44
Would anyone fall into a period of mourning if BR left and Clarke came in? I wouldn't! The only thing holding BR back is his dud signings. Lawwell is doing his job by looking after the clubs finances whereas BR is wasting money right, left and centre.

8.) 26 Jan 2019 15:51:09
OAB that's far to much sense for this site.
Your looking at a 2 week ban for that.

9.) 26 Jan 2019 20:30:46
Like most people on here I think the club would look at Clarke, but again as one of the posters said earlier I’m not sure how good an attacking coach he would be, but he is very switched on tactically.

My other option would be possibly the Salzburg coach, young coach, the football they played was really fast and skilful. Although they do have better players than us. Just an left field option.

10.) 26 Jan 2019 21:49:49
I like Clark but id be looking for a bigger name to be honest. We went and got a big name last time and should be doing the same this time.
Rafa Benitez is who I'd love.

{Ed007's Note - I'm the same, Kev. We've got a manager that could probably get some kind of manager's job in England and possibly Spain as well as China, Turkey etc and I'd like to think that when we do need to replace him we can aim higher than Steve Clarke. I'd have rather seen Clarke brought in in the DOF/John Park role when we appointed Deila.}

03 May 2018 15:50:15
I'd like to see us get Rooney if he's going from Everton still think he'd run amok up here.

Heaney1888

1.) 03 May 2018 17:53:46
No chance.

2.) 03 May 2018 18:53:49
I thought he was the Orc's dream new signing under their mega famous new manager with their 30plus million to spend. Supposedly going to sort out Broony. My arse. He's posh (sorry pish) and five years past it.

Exploited last week lost 1 goal. mcgregor was dugrubbish tonight at lb should’ve learned that we can’t take him out the midfield and expect same midfield if he played left back he’d be Calvin miller. board, Lennon should hang the heads.

Lennon was manager who signed Pukki but he also sent him on loan and ultimately sold him he had just lost hooper, Wilson and Wanyama, Pukki cane in at wrong time and the club were too much for him he might have came good or descended into mediocrity who knows but he looks like a totally different player now.

Rogic fit is a wonderful talent and plays in our team 💯but he’s not fit enough most of the time always fighting to be fit whereas Christie is far more effective as he contributes both on attack and defence as he’s got an engine to tackle back if looses the ball, Rogic half fit is a liability because he loses the ball doesn’t track back coz he can’t keep up game passes him by. If fit love the guy when not frustrates me.

Think he looks more like a replacement for commons with armstrongs work ethic who I think we’ve missed since he left the team could always count on him to have a shot at target some Belters and some deflecting in also makes the defenders try and close you down creating space out wide.

HCTS been on it since it started and I’ve took every cup game, in return I’ve been to every semi final and final in my the last however many years so can’t fault it but need to make sure that you get online quick or youve no chance so could still loose out on other hand can’t get a ticket for an away game tho unless I buy a spare boosting someone else’s points but do it anyway, both systems are flawed but Celtic continually sell out every game so they won’t change either just need to make do.
