According to a newspaper breakdown in talks with Eddy Howe and in advanced talks with other candidate.

GGGG

1.) 28 May 2021 15:48:48
Saw that. If it's true its a shambles. HH.

2.) 28 May 2021 16:01:57
advanced talks with Lennedy.

3.) 28 May 2021 16:36:15
If it is Lennedy they would need to close the whole top tier on the stadium.

4.) 28 May 2021 17:47:56
If it's Lennedy they will need to erect the fencing round the stadium again.

5.) 28 May 2021 18:52:26
reckon its keane.

28 May 2021 07:32:04
My mates (security at Paradise) just text to say he won't be needed today but to be on standby for bank holiday Monday.
Oh well it seems like the wait to continues.

GGGG

26 May 2021 07:26:11
My mate who works in security at Paradise was briefed yesterday regarding media conference on Friday afternoon with the announcement on incoming manager.
Looks like we have finally got this over the line with the announcement to be made on Friday.

GGGG

1.) 26 May 2021 09:33:56
I hope it's true, Personally I didn't think we would hear anything until the 1st of June.

2.) 26 May 2021 11:35:44
Nice one GGGG, as long as it isn't Lennedy 👍.

3.) 26 May 2021 12:21:30
They were told to expect upwards of 5k fans after the announcement even though they didn’t disclose what it was it’s surely the inevitable.

19 Apr 2021 09:03:41
Lucien Favre now in the running to become next Celtic manager. The Swiss unemployed former Dortmund manager is on shortlist to replace Neil Lennon and is believed to have had talks with the clubs hierarchy over the role.
I think he would be a good acquisition personally.

GGGG

1.) 19 Apr 2021 10:18:15
This is more like it. Hope its true, Bring in Harkin and Maresca to support him.

2.) 19 Apr 2021 10:33:37
Jose has been sacked can we go for him or will spurs go for Howe Dun dun dun.

3.) 19 Apr 2021 10:35:15
GGGG, the last I read he was looking for 75K a week to manage in Turkey?

If he was affordable then he has the C. V. to do a job for us but it will be closer to 75 empty Irn Bru bottles than 75K 😄

I'd imagine much will depend on the incoming D. O. F.

4.) 19 Apr 2021 10:36:28
From Lake Geneva to the River Clyde.

5.) 19 Apr 2021 10:49:40
The state we are in, Mr Magoo woukd be a step up.

6.) 19 Apr 2021 11:52:15
No way jose, cheat.

7.) 19 Apr 2021 11:56:23
Jose will always be 'that Porto manager'.

8.) 19 Apr 2021 12:26:34
Cheetin basa.

9.) 19 Apr 2021 12:34:22
Pedro 71 if he was looking for €70k in Turkey I think it shows that he is a potential candidate. What I’m saying is if he’s willing to manage in Turkey then I think he’s a realistic option.
I think we could stretch to £40k and perhaps a bonus for Champions league qualification of another £1m.

10.) 19 Apr 2021 13:28:29
No one is in the running. This board have shut down. They don’t care anymore. Kennedy will be announced in September.

11.) 19 Apr 2021 14:35:52
If there was one reason for me giving up my season ticket it would be if he got the job.

12.) 19 Apr 2021 16:04:00
Today was the day to announce a new manager. The fact we haven’t done it says we aren’t even close. Probably aren’t even looking.
Lawwell is waiting for Kennedy to go for a shower. Kennedy probably deliberately hasn’t washed in weeks so he doesn’t get ambushed.

13.) 19 Apr 2021 16:25:09
Degsy that’s pathetic.

14.) 19 Apr 2021 16:47:09
Degsy, if my teenage bhoy came out with patter like that, I would be disappointed and he's only known Celtic winning trophies, year after year, since he was 7 years of age.

What makes you think we aren't close? Seriously, come on.

There's no one on this site that's happy, well maybe except for Hoops88 but that's a by the by.

Let's see what transpires and in the meantime keep the faith.

15.) 19 Apr 2021 17:02:51
Degsy I thought it was funny 🤷‍♂️.

16.) 19 Apr 2021 17:23:47
GGGG, as ever it will come down to the board and you're right, hypothetically he's an option and by all accounts a good coach 👍.

17.) 19 Apr 2021 22:33:29
We are all on tenderhooks here, but to come out wi pish like that is just lazy and poor.

29 Jan 2021 08:04:59
Peter Lawwell will step down at end of season with SRU chief set to replace him, now all we need is NL announcement and my weekend will be complete.

GGGG

1.) 29 Jan 2021 10:12:07
Probably stuck with NL until end of season, which could be any day now. Null and void lol.

2.) 29 Jan 2021 11:36:29
Yeah the timing of announcement suggests Lenny will see out the season as Peter can’t make an appointment knowing he’s going at end of season and new guy doesn’t take charge till next season.
Gets season ticket money in with the hopes of new era and board out the selling point.

Club has triggered 1 year extension on Anthony Ralstons contract for next season.
With Laxalt and Kenny returning to parent clubs it makes sense to have a RB on the books with another more than likely coming in during transfer window.

GGGG

1.) 21 Jun 2021 08:18:54
We'll need a 1st choice RB in as Ralston isn't the answer.

2.) 21 Jun 2021 08:24:24
pedro the answer is in the post buddy. ralston will be for depth in the squad a option encase of injury's.

3.) 21 Jun 2021 08:38:23
A lot of 'white-noise' regarding the squad that doesn't really alter a thing; but so far no BOOM to get the support excited and confident.

4.) 21 Jun 2021 12:10:27
Ralston isn't good enough to even be back up in my opinion. Stupid use of resources.

22 May 2021 07:10:45
Not a rumour Iv heard but I like Nuno Espírito Santo and now he's leaving Wolves after Sunday's match I would like us to make an approach to sign as manager.
He knows Portuguese market and has brought in numerous good players from there for affordable sums for us and his style of play is good to watch.
His knowledge of Eng Championship and BPL is also good and he knows how to win leagues and play well in Europe.

GGGG

1.) 22 May 2021 10:22:10
Ad like us to get benitez but it ain't happening, if we're down the road with howe then that's our man.

2.) 22 May 2021 10:33:48
There were a few managers I would have preferred and the two above would have made that shortlist. However, we seem to have made our choice and although I am of the 'old school' that thinks the Celtic job would produce a (socially distanced) queue down London Road; we patiently wait and wait some more, hoping it's the right decision?

02 Feb 2021 18:26:15
Nino Espirito Santos anyone? Current salary £4m just out our reach old salary £2.75m closer to what we could pay and if he gets sack from Wolves I genuinely feel he could be a realistic target with good attacking philosophy and knowledge of Portuguese market.
Would be a signing on intent from our new Chief Executive and I think £2m base salary with league win bonus of £500k and Champions league qualification of another £500k could tempt him.
All hypothetical atm but just thought he could be an ambitious achievable appointment.

GGGG

1.) 02 Feb 2021 18:56:56
Really impressed with the wolves side last year, and him gggg, but then you realise he spent over 100million. As we all Know we won’t spend anywhere near that. Decent manager though.

2.) 02 Feb 2021 19:13:43
I can't see Wolves sack him but I would drive down myself to bring him here if he was to be our next manager.

3.) 02 Feb 2021 22:08:38
Would be a massive upgrade. They was a joy to watch play lovely attacking football, very organized and tough to beat up until this season.

23 Jan 2021 09:03:47
Today's tabloids reporting Eddie Howe now on Newcastle's radar or at least he's Fav in bookies to be their next boss.
Personally I don't want Howe it's just my opinion I think he's a good coach which is something we badly need but not a great Manager with issues dealing with top players at Bournemouth from Jack Wiltshire who agreed mutual termination to go back 6 months later when he left to Defoe situation and Josh King refusing to sign new deal and boy who went to Newcastle being less than complementary when he left.
I would go for Xavi and hope his Barcelona training methods would improve our current squad until end of season then give him tools he needs in summer for rebuilding.

GGGG

{Ed001's Note - Jack Wilshere was at West Ham and is a vastly overrated (because he is English) injury-prone drunken bum, who flopped there because he won't act professionally. Can't really blame Howe for that one, though I am not a big fan of his either as he has no idea how to organise a defence and admitted his recruitment was so bad he had to hand over control of it to someone else.}

1.) 23 Jan 2021 09:27:10
Sounds like he's our man right enough ed😂.

{Ed001's Note - he is certainly very adept at signing crap keepers and used to working with billionaires, so you could be right!}

2.) 23 Jan 2021 09:59:19
what a great shout xavi would be and he is always very complimentary about our club although not sure how much english he speaks, i could easily google it but I'm not to sure how his coaching career has went so far although i do know he was seriously being consideredforf the Barcelona job before koeman got the gig.

3.) 23 Jan 2021 11:05:28
GGGG. Xavi is the best midfielder I ever saw. Utterly magnificent Would certainly be season ticket booster Not sure what he's done since retiring but a winning mindset as a given. For few years he was best player in world IMO Can remember Jackie Mac. Who was nobody's fool. Being spun 360 degrees by the little maestro and left wondering where he went. What a footballer He always speaks well of us too A xavi puyol. dream team? Or more likely a Jack Ross / Kennedy. Double act Thing with Celtic is it could b either If putting bet on I would go with latter of two.

4.) 23 Jan 2021 13:16:35
Anybody + Kennedy = chuckle bros.

08 Dec 2020 08:03:11
Ed Could you compile a vote on who the fans would most like to see replace Lennon from these choices:
Martin O Neill
Gordon Strachan
Jack Ross
Paolo Di Canio
Paul Lambert
Eddy Howe
None of the above

Cheers.

GGGG

{Ed007's Note - Vote on the poll HERE.

1.) 08 Dec 2020 12:16:40
Martin O'Neill has apparently ruled himself out.

2.) 08 Dec 2020 12:28:14
I would rather have Dan Petrescu who’s available.

3.) 08 Dec 2020 12:38:53
Paulo Di Canio, Jesus wept 🙈.

4.) 08 Dec 2020 12:42:18
None of the above.

If the board have any ambition there is only one man and that is Rafael Benitz.

{Ed007's Note - Benitez is on £12 million a year in China and that's after tax.}

5.) 08 Dec 2020 12:54:21
I'd be happy with Nigel Pearson.

6.) 08 Dec 2020 13:05:37
Howe for me.

7.) 08 Dec 2020 14:12:00
Hi ed there was reports of derby looking at rafa. If they think they could pull it off surely celtic could. Rafa might be looking at a route to the epl
Only paper talk that derby were interested do you know if there is any truth in it.

{Ed007's Note - Derby are being taken over by mega-rich Arabs who are willing to throw crazy money at the project and they apparently want Benitez to be the manager.}

8.) 08 Dec 2020 14:48:52
How much money does one man need though Ed? I've a good source who tells me he rather be abused by neds if things don't go well.

9.) 08 Dec 2020 21:01:10
Makes sense ed cheers.

he had his hearing with FIFA to clarify if 8 game ban would be worldwide and they said it was so he was left out last night.
Because no ruling had been made to say if his ban was worldwide or not he was eligible to play until the hearing so no group stage waltz for us.
We should be able to get there on our own anyway.

Liverpool already stated he’s not available for loan a couple of weeks ago.
They done something similar with Kent and in the end only let him leave on a permanent transfer.
I’d offer £3m and get him in, he would be our best defender and is also good in possession.

Apparently the ban has been appealed and taken to court of Arbitration so he is eligible to play until his hearing.
Can’t get any concrete or definitive info on this tbh it’s just speculation.

This is set up to be a spectacular failure of a signing. What we need is a confident reliable keeper not somebody who has a howler in them and is well past their best.
Seriously underwhelmed I’d this is road we go down makes me even more gutted that we aren’t making Forster our priority signing!

Aye he may have said that in the end but Villa wouldn’t of even placed a bid if we offered what they wanted at the start it would have been signed sealed and delivered.
Obviously we thought we could hold Hibs to ransoms and pay less and it backfired when Villa showed they wanted him more.
It’s well known he’s a Hoops fan and these diplomatic comments were made AFTER he choose Villa.

If I’m honest I liked Anges handling of the press but I felt that Dominic never filled me with confidence with the way he answered and repeated himself.
Time will tell how he does as chief exec, I’m thrilled we have new blood in the role but despite last season in particulars shambles Lawwell generally done a good job in that role and I felt he was always in control when speaking to the media whereas Dominic didn’t.

Nisbett gets in the 18, McCart from StJohnstone aswell and Lewis Ferguson.
Not sure if any are upgrade on what we have in starting 11 but for less than £5m for all 3 I would guesstimate then it would be good start to rebuilding squad.
Add in 3 other £5m rated players in this window and a cpl of highly rated loans from BPL and we will have half a chance.

I think underestimating them as not a good team is a dangerous way to go. Taking out the derby games last season we still lost 16 points more than them. We haven’t had better head to head in league than them for 4 years.
Yes they are no world beaters but last season they learned to pick up points when they were playing poorly.
Let’s just get our own house in order and make sure we can capitalise whenever they drop points throughout the season and put pressure on them when we can as history shows they normally choke.
