Jason Denayer - apparently Jason has indicated his desire to return to MC at the end of the season.
Having to find two new Centrebacks to start the new season, not an easy task, CL qualifiers and all that.

yeah can't blame him for wanting to try get in the first team there good luck to him and a big thank you Jason . And you are correct we now find ourselves with a big problem to get 2 new Centre backs in for the qualifiers that is a big puzzle to me why we did not bring in at least one in on this window could cost us dearly

Ano the boy from az would have been ideal

I read the artical but do you think he is a wee bit premature? He will be back with us next season I reckon (i hope!) Outstanding young lad.

I agree shotts he will be nowhere near the city first team, so may end up back at us for next season .

5.) 14 Feb 2015 12:42:42
I think he has got to say that to remind his employers not to forget about him and state his ambition.
The likelihood would seem Chelsea win the EPL and City may hire a new boss and that will have a big bearing on the lads future.
There is no doubt he has formed a great partnership with VVD and they will be a hard act to follow, so we must make the most of them while we can and winning trophies can help them decide.

Re the Sean Connery question, the story is he used to get VIP treatment at Celtic Park for all the big games in the 1960s and 70s.
When Fergus McCann became owner and was told Big Sean wanted a 'freebie' for a big game, the wee man said, he can pay the same as the rest of the fans. Connery is notoriously tight fisted and declined.
David Murray heard about this and stepped in to wine and dine Connery at Ibrox where he was seen thereafter.

I do not want to swap Griffiths for Hooper because Griffiths is on fire and is still goal hungry in his prime just turned 25.
I have noted that when we are leading a game in extra time we always seem to be on the back foot defending.
How many times have we lost late goals this way, you could smell it coming on Wednesday, lost concentration at the corner, getting silly bookings. Like Jungle Jim I was very disappointed. Keep the ball at the other end in extra time Celtic, do not give them a hope, please learn from this. really learn.

I thought the same on Wednesday, in the 5 minutes added we had 3 chances to run the ball into the corner and from there it's easy to waste time with throw ins, but we tried to attack through the centre on beat a man! Need to be more streetwise!

2.) 21 Aug 2015 19:49:18
Honesty fellows it is easy to talk in hind sight , if we had managed the fourth goal in extra time , we would be lauding the brave decision to try to attack . If Virgil hadn't the rush of blood we would have been ok .

3.) 21 Aug 2015 19:54:16
NT87 you are correct, however this is something RD has to install in the tem. His philosophy is to keep on attacking and get another goal. That's what the players are told to do. That's fine in a one off match when you are 3-1 up but not over a two leg European tie. RD needs to learn. I think his tactics need to change as the game changes but we only ever play one way. We need to be more adaptable as a unit and as individuals we need to concentrate till the end. Wed night was a case in point. Johanssen yet again loses his discipline, gets booked players switch off. Same as he did for the penalty with Griffiths a few weeks ago. He is the ideal example of a player that switches off and gets sidetracked. Need to improve.

The Laptop Loyal (Waddell, Jackson etc) are seething about young Allan choosing Celtic. They are writing cringeworthy drivel which which just reeks of rage and bad feeling.
Never the less Celtic fans will be right behind the lad and give him full support. You made the right decision son, so just show us all what you can do, and you will win many trophies with Celtic.

It makes me happy that these tools are hurting. Absolutely love it. Don't know if you seen the Gordon smith comments going around Twitter yesterday but they are classic,,,,, basically saying a week ago that SA was a top class player who was outstanding and creative. Now he is saying that he's not good enough because he failed at west brom. Also said he won't cut it in Europe and Celtic fans will turn on him! Bitter much?

2.) 17 Aug 2015 20:02:52
Gordon Smith is a self confessed bigot and a wind-bag.

3.) 17 Aug 2015 21:06:36
Sevco and the main stream media seemed to have arranged for Allen to sign for Rangers , just because they wanted him to . Quite right Allan's manager didn't want to sell him to their main rivals for a pittance . It just isn't done in football , you don't sell to your main rivals . now according to Rangers faithful, fans and media Celtic are evil monsters and Allan is now no good .

I remember buying the Celtic View first edition. I wish I had kept it, but then you never do. It was amazing to know that we were the only club in the world with a newspaper. Those were the days. I had my Celtic View on order at my local paper shop, the guy was Italian and had a soft spot for Celtic.
He would say, "I got to yer Cellic View, You want it the noo?"

Just read all the latest posts, some really thoughtful observations and perspectives from everyone.
I don't know how long I can go on with this nail biting uncertainty season after season :)
I'm glad I'm not picking the team. Suffice to say I didn't sleep well last night.
Please Celtic, just take care of business this teatime.

Old Bhoy, it was Ronny himself who made this observation at press conference on Friday, ie we should be dominant at set play and the opposition should fear our height and power.
I was not advocating magic moves against Ross County, just exploiting our quality in a more advantageous way.
Double figure corner kicks without causing any real threat is disappointing.

Hi bigp
I hadn't forgotten about Boyata butwe could be left with him alone if Virgil moves (Boyata being the recognised centre back. We would not want a brand new guy partnering a makeshift CB such as Efe or Charlie, (Lustig if he is fit, it his is injuries that concern me)
We really require a settled in CB pairing of young strong guys in there. Just like in the season just ended, those guys were making it look so easy, playing from the back, creating and scoring, I wish we could have had another 2 seasons out of Virgil and Jason. We need to hit the ground running, not trying to find our feet and then find we don't qualify for CL.

Timalloy, I have nothing against Hibs but I was hoping Falkirk would win. I'm not generally superstitious but - I didn't fancy Hibs breaking their 100 year odd hoodoo against us!
As for the game I felt Hibs played like us at times, dominated the possession but last quarter of the pitch, must do better.
They lacked urgency, upping the tempo from the outset is required, don't wait til you are a goal behind. I hope Celtic go flat out tomorrow right from the get go and win this before half time.

GJ I agree it is strange. Perhaps Ronny has decided to punt Scepovic, otherwise why not play him?. JG has never even hinted at staying with us so why play him?
The replay will be tough, I imagine United will roll their sleeves up for this one, expect them to be fired up with a stronger team.

HH, we have struggled all season against packed penalty boxes, and of course this is nothing new. Players who can break through these situations are normally very expensive. I agree that one tactic that can get results is to shoot, shoot, shoot and deflections may happen. Another is to employ a Jinky type of player to weave his way through, he may score, or get pulled down. Getting to the bye line and a cut-back can be deadly. Trying to pick little passes through a brick wall as we did most often leads to nothing - as it did once again for us.
