Read Maedainparadise post below about biased BBC Sportscene reporting. Apart from a few (Stewart, Sutton and the like) there seems to be quite a lot of them waiting and hoping that we slip up. I find it very strange. I'm a great supporter of the BBC in general, but it's Scottish Sports Journalism leaves a lot to be desired in terms of neutrality and objective informative reporting. Even those three young twits who do 'View from the terrace' were obnoxious and juvenile when talking about Kaka and some other elite footballers praising the atmosphere at Celtic Park. You would think they (the three twits) would take a pride in that as opposed to ridiculing the Celtic fans.
As I said to my brother, the only way to overcome this sort of bias is took keep on winning . with style, dignity and humility . by both the club and its supporters.
Ange has appeared and will be a fantastic catalyst for that, just as Stein was in the sixties and seventies.
It never ceases to intrigue me that Celtic seem to be respected much more by foreign players, journalists and fans of football than they are at home.
Somebody should do a dissertation or even a book on it ?

The line Sportscene put up last week for the winner against Aberdeen was ridiculous.
The proper line was showed on another channel which showed Abada was clearly onside.

Yes I know Buzz, but the issue that intrigues me is not that they (BBC Sportscene Journos) are biased (you can cite hundreds of examples to demonstrate that) but WHY. I can see no obvious reason for that in this day and age. Perhaps in the past, but why now? Is it one guy, Jonathan Sutherland perhaps? I believe he is the editor. Is it a culture thing? A hangover from bygone years that is difficult to shift?
Its certainly a strange one.

SLY and the BBC are as bad as each other for bitter bias against Celtic and pro Sevco and I would like our club to take them to task. The BBC sacked Jim Spence for telling the truth about Sevco, while Chris McLaughlin was also banned from Ibrox in 2015 and I vaguely remember they also spat the dummy out after Michael Stewart comments. I recall, way back we banned the likes of Gerry McNee and others for their nonsense. Elsewhere, Alex Ferguson has also told the BBC where to go. The evidence is there every week for Celtic to react?

You just have to look at who both of them employ as presenters to see what way they see Scottish football No surprise in the quality and direction off both the programme's go.

Onceabhoy and Tony,
I totally agree, but I still don’t understand why.
I wish I knew someone who worked for BBC Sportscene behind the scenes, or even SKY so they could give me the inside story. A whistleblower if you like.
BT were/ are never like Sportscene in its coverage of Scottish Football. There’s got to be a reason somewhere I would think.

In terms of unbiased news reporting (I’m talking national news here, not sport in Scotland) the BBC is second to none in my opinion. Without it, outlets like GB news, Fox etc, along with newspapers like the Daily Mail would be able to peddle their right wing propaganda without much of an alternative point of reference. That’s why the Tories are desperate to get rid of it or dilute it (again in my opinion) . BBC Sportscene and associated outlets is different re unbiased football reporting. That’s why I am so curious as to why.
Hope that answers your question.
