With big Julien coming back shortly, does anyone see young Welsh being sent out in January for first team football, feel his progression will be slowed down massively by not playing, feel sorry for the lad as I believed he was performing better than starfelt and deserved to keep his spot, just wanted people's opinions.

I think Welsh is a great player and I would still keep him for the rest of the season and reassess his situation in the summer.
I was surprised Welsh was dropped after the transfer window closed because he was our best defender.
He’s only played at Livingston since because Starfelt was left out of our squad on the plastic pitch.
The last game before the transfer window closed was our defeat at Ibrox.
And I believe Welsh was made the fall guy because he was marking Helander in their previous corners that day but Helander was left unattended for the goal, with Welsh about 5 yards away marking no one.
It’s a learning curve for the young defender and I wouldn’t have any problems playing him when necessary.

I feel for the player as he has done very little wrong when called upon and if anything, he stood-out when we were struggling. Now, probably because we spent money on the defense, he has been dropped? Jullien's fitness cannot be relied upon, so I would keep him handy.

I still have faith that Welsh will come good in time my only concern is that we don’t have a good all round defender to learn from in match days as we have a squad of limited ability at defending and we are likely to be exposed against decent teams especially in the air. I’m hopeful jullien returns soon as he can be a good influence in positioning and in the air but I’m not sure he will be comfortable playing it around our box?.

I’d rather Welsh stayed n fought for his place, being included in anges methodology with the rest of the squad would be my preferred option
