What was your first away ground and also your first away trip in Europe?
My first away ground was Easter Road in 1983 and I remember Nicholas scored a couple in a 3-0 victory for Celtic.
My first away trip was to Cologne in 1992 I think.
We travelled on the bus in a 2-0 defeat but Celtic won the return leg 3-0 to progress.

My first testimonial in England was Bryan Robson 1990,
First Euro trip was a solo adventure on a day trip vs young boys and had a riot with some Clydebank bhoys I joined up with. I’m struggling to remember my first away match but I remember once being on a bus to play Dundee Utd and having to be placed in bag rack as it was overcrowded we lost 3-0 in 1980.

No Steph but I travelled to Wales with them.
It was a bus run by John Gilmour.
His wife went into labour during the game and he got home, on the Celtic team flight.

Interesting question Buzz.
My first away trip in Europe was v. Dundalk in 1979 in the old European Cup. We had won the home leg 3-2 (somewhat fortuitously) and we drew 0-0 at Oriel Park even though Dundalk had the option to move the game to Lansdowne Road for a bigger pay day.
My first away league game was in 1980 v. Kilmarnock when we won 3-0. HH.

Bestybhoy,
I read Celtic were also fortunate to come away with a 0-0 draw in Dundalk.
Thank goodness Dundalk knocked Linfield out in the previous round.
The travelling Linfield fans were a disgrace in the 1st leg and UEFA ordered the return leg to be played abroad in front of only a few locals.
Dundalk done us all a favour by winning 2-0 for an aggregate score of 3-1.

My first away game was one of our worst results in our history, lost 5-1 to Dundee and If I remember correctly Big Aitken had put us 1 nil up early doors, 1980 I think it was. First European away was Lyon 1999 the night Henrik broke his leg? got to add I have seen many good results too on my travels, it wasn't all doom and gloom?.

Stevie, they’re games you won’t forget in a hurry.
My first visit to Dens Park was a Scottish Cup tie in 1985.
There was over 20,000 at the game and I was in the enclosure.
It finished 1-1 and Celtic went on to win the cup in my first final.
My first trip to Rugby Park was in 1993 and it was our first visit in the league for about 12 years.
The game finished 2-2 due to Bonner doing his usual and missing a cross deep into injury time.
I remembered Celtic would’ve went top of the league if we won because Rangers were drawing 2-2 with Raith Rovers at Ibrox.
There must’ve been 20,000 at that game also because Kilmarnock had a good support back then with Tommy Burns as there manager.

For me, first away game was (I think) Dens Park where a young stiker scored for us. 3 0 or 3 1. Euro tie was Croatia Zagreb when RB shat it! Great trip!
