Since Neil Lennon left Celtic have played 13 competitive games.
Won 4. Drawn. 5. Lost 4.

Celtic have failed to score more than One goal in 10 out of those 13 matches.
Which means if Celtic concede, we won't win the match.

Celtic have continued to create chances but we're not ruthless enough in front of goal.
In those games, Celtic have had an average of 18 shots per game, with 7 shots on target.

Celtic have continued to concede an average of One goal per game in this period.
Celtic concede an average of 8 shots per game, with only 3 shots on target per match.
Basically 1 in every 3 shots we concede is finding the net.

To summarise, Celtic are getting more than double the shots on goal and more than double the shots on target, than our opponents but we continue to struggle with wins.

The goalkeeping and defense have been a problem for far too long, but when the forward players can't score (or stay fit) , it really gives us a snowballs chance of any sort of success and if anything it shows a very worrying backward trend. Ange must be having sleepless nights already, wondering what he has signed up for, in the knowledge swift, concise investment in top quality is being hampered and delayed.
It certainly is a case of wondering if we will score, rather than how many will we get today? Can't remember off the top of my head when Eddy last scored, while Ajeti or invisible Griff are deadwood IMO.

Buzz bomb, those stats are alarming yet not surprising…… we could create 20/ 30 chances per game, but if our attacking players ain’t finishing them it doesn’t matter a jot, but for me that stays at the other end of the park are more alarming. We will always lose more than we win with that current defence and keeper, so god only knows why it’s taking an absolute eternity to rectify that situation…… he’s another thing, today again we’re linked with this American CB at Spurs, now reports are he's in the final 12 months of his contract and Spurs want £5 million…. can anyone see us pay that for a guy in the final year of his contract? Yet at Celtic, we’ve sold ajer who was in the exact same position yet we demand a fee which will end up nearing £20 million…. We’ll lose edouard, again in the same situation and probably demand around £20 million…. so while we demand those fees and rightly so, if this CB fae Spurs ( who by the way I know nothing of) but if Celtic fancy this guy, and if proper homework has been done on him, then by god pay the bloody fee and get him up here.

Garry, that's far too much common sense for a Monday - enough 😄.

All the talk is about acquiring CBs, LBs, and RBs, but you're not looking at it correctly. Hearts 1st goal for example. Their midfielders running by our midfielders, who were jogging. 6 hearts players in the box, but only 4 Celts. 3 at the back queuing up to stick it into an empty net.

A post earlier today stated that we haven't had a solid defensive lineup since MON, but recall, MON had Thomson, Lambert, Lennon, and Petrov, all working their socks off protecting the back line. Granted, we had good CBs as well, but the point is, we defended as a team. That takes coaching!

We've had it too easy for too long, and we've been getting away with it because we've been playing nobody. You like stats? Well in the last 10 year, we conceded about 240 goals in the league. An average of about 24 per season, which is not to shabby. However, in the same 10 year in Europe, where the competition is tougher, the teams/ players more clinical, we've conceded about 180.
