so Celtic has been fined for that numpty going awol.

I hope the club considers and appeal on this and my reasoning is.

WHAT rule did Celtic F. C. actually break for the CLUB to be fined?

The Players were given a couple of days off with instructions NOT to leave Glasgow.

THE PLAYER (without informing anyone) went abroad with his girlfriend

THE PLAYER returned and did not follow strict quarantine instructions.

THE PLAYER turned up for training with his teammates (again, never informed anyone of his trip)

THE PLAYER was selected in the playing squad and took the field of play (again, he never told anyone)

THEN it came to light about the player's trip and CELTIC F. C. took the required steps and informed all the necessary authorities.

Can anyone explain to my why CELTIC F. C. are being fined?

What rule did we breach? what law did we break?

There was no rule in place by the football authorities that clubs had to keep their players confined in a controlled environment so we never broke any restrictions.

This was an individual act and the individual is totally responsible and I object to it being put on Celtic's record.

Sure Peter can take it out his bonus. Always laugh when clubs are fined such small amounts. What's the point?

Why should Peter take it out of his bonus .
I don’t see where Peter did wrong.

Some seem to accept this as it is a small sum and a minor pain.
Sorry, I don't see why we should have this on the club disciplinary record when we had no control over the individual's actions.
Do we, the club, accept fines for any infraction of the rules of the land (speeding, breaking and entering, yeh a wee bit silly but relevant to my point)
Name any other employers who have been punished for their workers breaking quarantine rules?
Anyway Ed, thanks for indulging me in letting off steam (still iddled off though lol)

I get your point tiny Tim. Just a general observation about pointless fines given out to multi millionaires. As a club we couldn't have done much more than we have.
