Seeing Celtic fans moaning about £10m being too high a fee for a 32 year old Forster and moaning there's no sell-on value is absolutely bizarre. Imagine how angry they'd be if we were linked with Ronaldo or Messi.

Fraz is worth the money although I think Southampton will deal around the 5 mill mark. a hope.

No sell on value no, but unless you're a shareholder your main concern should be the team on the pitch. My guess is Pistol Pete could get that down to 6-7m. Which I'd gladly pay. Still could be plenty miles in a 32 year old keeper. I agree with what you said the other day though Kev, if Chelsea are sniffing about I wouldn't be that surprised if Forster could push for no.1.

It's a very important position to fill and he has proved his worth time and time again; therefor, with everything we have to play for, FF must be a priority. It has been customary for the club to make one big sale in the summer, so we may generate funds for FF plus others?

I think Big Fraz will need to take a massive hit in wages to make it happen .

I reckon it would be 10m well spent. 32 years of age for a goalkeeper is nothing. Would get a good 5/ 6 seasons out of Forster and peace of mind knowing we have someone we can rely on.

He is not worth it, he didn't stop us going out of Europe, if we don't sort out the midfield, any half decent goalie will win us the League, the reliance on Forster is a reflection that there is something amiss with the rest of the team.

So keepers whose teams go out of Europe aren't worth good money aindoh?

believe it or not teams are aloud to create chances against us.

Maybe if our cbs defended better we might stay in longer.

Why only sort out midfield, if there is something amiss with the rest of the team?
As an attacking team, most supporters would feel our goals against are reasonable.
Big Forster is bound to give the whole team confidence as he is such an imposing figure in our goals.

Aindoh did you not watch the matches against Lazio the big man was instrumental in us going through at the top of the group 🤔.

Aindoh who would be your expert choice on a keeper as you have slated others choices.

To say he isn't worth it is ridiculous, He won us the League cup against the dark side. If Gordon or Bain had been in goals, we would have lost that game by 4 or 5 goals.
He also won us both games against Lazio, the first game with that save in the last few seconds was incredible and also the 2 saves in the last few minutes in Rome before we scored the winner.

There is plenty up and coming keepers, that could grow and mature into outstanding keepers, you are missing my point, do you want to watch another outfield display like the league cup final and have to rely on the goalie or would you rather sort out the midfield, I have said it before, and I will say it again, Scott Brown needs to take a more background role, let the midfield thrive without him, as for keepers, there are just so many better more affordable keepers out there than Forster.

aindoh 🤫🤫🤫
He was amazing all season go with his stats big FF Won us the season go and check his saves on games that where close wins for us.
What's going on lads now our midfield at fault the same midfield who win everything for 8/ 10 years.

I think we have maybe 2/ 3 players who have been with us at the start of 9 in a row then the same Celtic board who have bought some gd players to fit in for us to keep winning this.
Hopefully next year its just one team know out then we qualify for the European league.
I believe Liverpool man utd Leicester would all struggle and many others would struggle as well if they had to have 4 european qualifiers home and away before the season starts.

That's the part that is not fair it should be winners of league qualifie european games. So add Al these extra games and it makes it a long season for Celtic players.
Playing qualification games before a season starts is not right sometimes we play teams who's league has started and are up to date match fit. Most teams would struggle just look at that borefest last night players injured not up to speed players had to go off players not up to speed so this proves my point playing qualifiers when not up to speed gets you knocked out 4 qualifiers is out of order. I think if every team had let's say one euro qualifiers they would struggle as the qualifiers are played before league starts.

Imo what's the point if you win a league to qualify for the European league you actually did really qualify, you had to play another 4 qualifiers. just like arsenal who where a borefest if that was a first game back at the start of the season and they needed a euro qualifiers they would have been knocked out by plenty of other so called smaller clubs over the world.

Right aindoh, there is so many better keepers out there than Forster, and would cost less! Name me 3 we could get out of the so many.

Think I mentioned the no sell on value previously. That's not to say I don't think we should sign FF. He's been immense. Just can't see us spending anything like that on a 32 year old goalkeeper. Our model is to buy young up and coming players and hopefully sell them on at a profit. It took us the best part of 20 years to break our 6m transfer record. Hopefully Southampton will deal at a reasonable price and he is willing to take a huge wage cut. If not I'm sure there will be alternatives lined up.
