We all know we are in dyer need of a new quality right back and I'm hoping we splash the cash on quality as we've done with Jullien at centre half but just a quick note if anyone would take Matthews back at parkhead? I personally would rather we were looking at an upgrade but if the chance came I would rather take a punt and have him temporary for these qualifiers instead of Ralston. Matthews is still only 27 and it seems as if he's lost his way and lost his confidence since he left us but maybe lenny can bring the best out of him again. I'm not saying I want him back as our first choice right back I would love for us to get better quality but I think he would be a decent addition as a back up providing he's a free agent and would be on lower wages, he's got the champions league experience previously with us so surely a better bet than the likes of odonnell and Ralston, thoughts?

I think we need 2 right backs a quality one and a good back up ralston imo is neither and I would sell him instantly imo I would take Mathews as back up yes why not he’s free and better than ralston.

I'd take him on a free so long as we buy a quality first choice.

Agree with the lads, I’d take Matthews on a free but as a back up only! A good quality first choice right back is needed in there! Matthews has struggled with injuries and form and there’s no way we can depend on him for 50 plus games next season!

I'm not keen on re-signing players, it very rarely tends to work out. I'd prefer us to sign a proven quality RB around 23/ 24 on a 4 or 5 year deal 👍.

He would definitely be a solid back up. Personally don't think Ralston can cut it. Was he not a bit injury prone when he was with us previously?
