All these different sites reporting we are in for this player but face competition from Rangers is funny it’s like Celtic and Rangers comes as a package or share the same scouts. On a side note Turnbull if this passes by with no deal done does this show we are cheap or we are not being held to ransom?

If they don't think he's worth the 3 million then they shouldn't pay it.

Motherwell will be well aware that the Celtic fans are still annoyed about the McGinn fiasco and will try and use that as leverage to get the best deal possible.

I’m with the club on this one, for once I don’t see it as penny pinching! Nobody can deny the lads done well but he’s played for Motherwell for one season, he isn’t worth 3 million IMO! 2 million for me is more than enough! If it’s 3 million then move on and let’s not let it drag out! We’ve far more important issues to deal with, like getting a right back and centre half in!

When a 3rd tier English team are asking for 20 million for a player, where does that leave us, we canna pay 3 million for a player that shows a lot of potential, has had a great season and wants to play for us, we need to buy PETER, so let's spend some money!

I think Celtic will walk away from this deal cause they don’t want to look silly they apparently made one offer and if it’s with off the valuation that Motherwell has walk away bidding war not going to look great for us.

If the player is as good as they say, we would struggle to get that ability and star-potential anywhere else for the money mentioned.
Every other 'big club' pays slightly inflated prices from small clubs for their better players and if/ when they improve by playing with better players and gain experience and winning mentality, it's money in the bank in the longer term. If it doesn't work out it's no more than we have wasted over the decades on several 'failed projects' and the club could certainly use player-plus-cash in the transaction.
If NL and Celtic think he is good enough to do a job for us - then go get him now - the wages saved and any fees paid for several players leaving will cover the cost and much, much more.

Lowell thinks £3m is too much for potentially one of the best young players in Scitland yet thinks him taking £2.3m as a bonus is fine? Feck off Lawell.

There’s a reason every Celtic fan dreads every window. That reason is Lawell. He will do more to feck us up than sevco ever will. He’s their trump card.

That's was all said when we paid over the odds for Hendry as well OAB.

The Hendry move was absolutely bizarre from the word go. He never showed anything like enough ability to earn a move to Celtic, not even close.

There is a player in young Hendry . he was thrown in the deep end by rodgers and his confidence never really recovered. i think he will come good 👍.

Cant agree with any of that unfortunately Gaz. The guy's in his mid-twenties and has played 80 games of club football, plus we signed him for over £1m so he should be able to go into the team and do a decent job against poor opposition.

At the end of the day, we are all very well aware of our clubs hesitancy and low-balling with bids every single window and the later excuses of 'we tried to sign. but. '
All I'm looking for is a clear-out of some of the surplus 'stock' we saw at the medal presentations and at least three quality additions that can come stright into the team - in positions that urgently need addressing - 'Simples' (or so you'd think? )

Magicpole you know lawwell doesn't decide his bonus eh?
You know he's just an employee and it's the board that makes that decision?
He runs a highly successful company with a 100 million turn over, of course he's going to get a multi million bonus.

I never totally understand why he should get a bonus for doing the job he is already paid for. Is it the case that if he wasn't getting a bonus he wouldn't work as hard?

I suppose you guys booed Fergus McCann when he came out to see the League Flag raised. Lawell has presided over the most successful period in the history of Celtic F C . When will you get it?

When do Celtic ever think a players worth anything kev it's a joke small time mentality you couldn't buy mcginn now so 3mill is not a bad price you never know they night make some money out of it.

I think he is worth £3m and is the perfect replacement for Armstrong as Rogic is finished. He is only going to get better.

30 app 15 goals last season, will be a welcome addition.

Also a few people on this thread would agree he was worth £3m if he had a fancy foreign name.

A lot of red faces on these posts here after we've eventually signed the bhoy for 3m. Price tag is irrelevant anyway. Let's get behind our club and hopefully come out this window stronger than we came in. Early signs are promising.
