Looking to next season and strengthening in the summer, not to sound too optimistic its not as bad as its made out.
If we get Benkovic back on loan, we would maybe only need 3 or 4 decent signings to really kick on for next season
Goalkeeper isn't an issue.
RB we've Lustig (if he stays) and Ralston, so could do with strengthening there.
CB could be less of a priority if Benkovic stays another season.
Its safe to say Hayes is a decent stand in for KT, but would be good to have another option, or a more natural defender.
Midfield is strong - Broonie, Ntcham, Calmac, Rogic, Forrest, Sinclair, Johnston, Dembele, Hendo, Arzani and Shved.
With Griff and Bayo coming back for this season it looks a lot better than is made out. HH.

Think another midfielder is needed rogic usually out for his 3 to 4 months so can't be relied on and although I like ntcham there's doubts about him.

And Dembele, Arzani and Shved look promising but whether they will be knocking on 1st team door is not yet known. Bayo is a prime example, £2m and apparently miles off it, even in training .

100% agree with both of you . Its just there's a bit of depth and promise there, but like you said i can't see some of the younger lads being starters just yet. I think 3 good players ready to start through the spine of the team should be enough to see us step up a level . but then its all depending on what players we lose players throughout the window.

Just to clear up, i wasnt saying we didn't need anyone in those positions, just that we have options there.

Any manager that signs 8 first team players in the close season is inevitably looking for a job himself before Easter . Bringing 8 new players into dressing room inevitably leads to serious difficulty in team building.
