Brighton now in talks for O'Riley, really cannot see him being here by the end of the window. Gutted if he goes and the fact the rumour mill is quiet, it's rather worrying.

If he goes he should hold out for bigger than Brighton.

My thoughts exactly Mally.

He will choose a team where he's guaranteed regular game time unfortunately. I feel he'll get that at Brighton or West Ham maybe not as much at Chelsea.

Gutted to be honest, like most ill be really surprised if he is here soon, but the obvious speed our board work with signings I can’t see them replacing him. They will roll out the Bernardo line is the replacement, but as you all seen from yesterday we don’t really have a midfielder that passes like him, little passes around the corner etc. he will be a massive miss.

I reckon if we are offered £25-30m for his services Matt himself won’t have much of a say in it .

Brighton - he's already too good for them.

As much as I think Matt is capable of playing for a higher end premier league team, I think the best move for him would actually be to a club the like of brighton.

Go somewhere where you’ll be guaranteed to play, and bigger clubs in the same league will undoubtedly follow. It’s the exact same as when Van Dijk was with us, they turned their noses up at us because he played in Scotland but Southampton took a punt and then Liverpool followed. Matt can take the same path.

I just hope if he goes he goes to a club that appreciates him, and we get a fair price.

Going to a club like Brighton who have a brilliant record of selling on talent for massive amounts would work out well for us as with a sell on clause we would make more further down the line. It’s a move that could pay off well for both parties.

It works in a financial context but in terms of us winning football games, as others have said, our board will play the Bernardo card as a reason to not achieve as near a like for like replacement as feasibly possible.

Rogician, you mention if we accept a bid that Matt won't have a choice in the matter. The player actually has all the power now as he can simply refuse to go or even negotiate with any team he doesn't fancy going to.

Maybe tje fact he is too good is the point. Though Brighton are a decent side. Play good football. He'll be a regular and then a big boy will come knocking. With the standard pedro 30%.

It’s up to the player if he wants to go or not, but most of the time the player will most likely agree to leave.
Brighton are a decent club who have massively improved the last few seasons, as much as I think MOR could play for a better team in the premier league a team like Brighton could give him the platform to go further quicker. All it takes is a good half season for a bigger club to come in, it’s happened plenty of times in the past.

He wants to leave. That’s coming through loud and clear. If he wanted to stay he would say it. Fed up being in a league where anyone who is any good wants to leave first chance they get.

The Brighton move will come down to the vision the new manager will give to Matt if it appeals to him he will go and if it doesn't then won't, I think their new guy is a young forward thinking progressive coach so will most likely be very appealing to Matt in his vision of how he wants to play and how him and Weiffer will be essential to him achieving that. For young players wanting to get to the top teams the Brighton is a fantastic move.
