Hope it's true, didn't think he done a great deal too wrong and was harshly frozen out, he's went back to Denmark and done well for himself so bringing someone back who knows the club when we need centre backs could be a good move.

Personally I was hoping for QUALITY new signings; like was mentioned in his opening statement. Eric was decent enough, but found out for pace first time around and I doubt very much he has got any quicker! We are a club in total transition and I really don't think patchwork repairs and rehashes are enough to get us back to our best.
The horror show of last season should have been enough to motivate the Board into major improvement and higher standards and I really hope we have higher hopes and objectives in the pipeline?

He’s not a bad defender but if ange likes to play a high line and high press, surely we need fast defenders to cover. Big Erik isn’t fast . I’d prefer if we moved for zanka the other Danish centre back, think he played for Huddersfield.

@Magicpole, I understand your concept but i think most of us would agree that if we were offered him just now we would bite the hand off for him, as it stands just now with ajer likely to be off and jullien still out, bitton and Welsh is our centre backs which gives me the absolute fear. Sometimes players need to go away to develop and I'm sure if he came back he would be a lot more developed.

I agree we should be aiming higher to get back on top but I would gladly take a familiar face in our defence right now if it means helping the start of a rebuild, we need at least 2 decent centre backs and a decent right back before we play them, if we go into that game with ralston Welsh and bitton then we've absolutely no chance.

Why bring a guy in who isn't good enough and paying for the privilege? We did that with Duffy. We need A change of strategy away from make do and hope. He is as slow was a week in the jail. Why should we accept someone we didn't think could cut it four years ago? Its that total lack of ambition thst made us fail 9 out 12 times to qualify for the CL. If we want thst to be 10 out of 13 attempts we go down the let's hope road. We need better and he isn't good enough. As I said, no harm to him, I like him, but sentimentality last year crippled us. We need better, much better.

Marco this totally different situation altogether from the kelly days. Folk have short memories this board have been successful in a lot they have done, for fans to turn their back on the club after one poor season is an utter disgrace. There has been a lot to deal with C.V. etc. New season new start let's back the club and manager not turn on them.

Sviatchenko might still be good back up, not sure. It's a bit desperate though. I agree with Magic Pole, he was deemed not good enough by most when we were a decent side so I struggle to see how he'll improve us now unless he's came on a fair bit. It just slaps of us again not trying to move forward like playing Bitton and Rogic, as a club we just haven't kicked on. We need to see some real quality brought in with the players/ fees that are leaving. Or are we going to see players being sold for serious money and bringing in substandard replacements yet again?

@gar: I don't think it's because we lost the league that fans wanted lennon and the board out, I think it's more of the way we lost it. No heart, no fight. Lennon making stupid tactical errors the way he stuck to the same game plan even when he knew it want working. All these things together all added up plus the fact fans weren't in the stadium to voice their opinions probably didn't help. I for one was truly disgusted at how the board and manager let sevco catch us so easily.

We are in need of 1st team players and squad players he is probably in the latter.
He wouldn’t take long to settle in and shouldn’t cost much. Their squad has strength and depth ours lacked the depth last season IMO so have no issues getting a bit more depth to ours. You only had to look at the GK position last season when we threw all eggs in 1 basket when making sure we kept depth with Gordon incase Barkas flopped cost us big time.
I don’t think their best players are any better than ours but when they got replaced the guys coming in were not much worse, that’s why we need a similar model where we can rotate and replace with guys of a similar standard so I’m happy with Sviatchenko rumours.

I get all that but if the fans can't unite behind the team then what chance has new manager got? The board need to get their finger out and back the new guy with players. Last season is gone we can't dwell in the past let's get our title back.

We will unite behind the team, but We deserve a team to get behind. Not cheap punts or guys who shouldn't be anywhere near our jersey. Our stra53gy of go cheap and hope has led 7s here. A deed club taking over us. That is criminal negligence. We need better recruitment. We need better players. They are out there, we need to employ people who can find them.

Let's get behind the new regime. Iwas one of the 11000 v Dundee in the dark days, this is nowhere near that. Id love Mooy in, we could build a team around him and McGregor. Wee Calmac needs a good rest though he's played a lot of football over the last few years. Id also like to see young Robertson who was loaned to Gillingham and done superbly. Were all going to have to be patient. he's going to need a couple of Windows. If his brand is good I'll be patient. Remember Faithful through and through folks.

It shouldn't happen and it won't. I heard a guy on a podcast saying, he knows the club and the city and it would be a good move. So do I, and I could still beat him for speed. And my passing is sublime. If he gets a game I want to be captain.
