The situation with this Brazilian defender is very strange. He's trying to get his contract torn up over unpaid wages but the courts have said no. If he fails then he's valued anywhere from £3-5 million even though he's 23 and hasn't reached 70 professional games.

It’s no for me lads! Brazilian centre backs and Scottish football are a recipe for disaster! Add all the baggage into it and I wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole!

He was part of a Cruzeiro team that was relegated for the first time in their history.
There is now only 3 clubs in Brazilian football that have never been relegated.
I remember we played Cruzeiro in our Centenary match and beat them 4-2.
It was quite a dirty game for a friendly. I think they got a player sent off.

It all seems a bit messy from the off. How is it we can even sign him? I thought players from Brazil had to be regular internationalists to get a work permit?

He wouldn't get a work permit without an appeal. Most appeals go through tho.
