Think this is the first signing rumour I have posted. I have it in good authority that we have bid 4.5 M for Martin Odegard with a sell on clause of 35%. A one year loan back also forms part of the deal.
Could Mr Desmond and his puppet finally loosen the purse strings. Bloody hope so, Hail Hail

There is no way on earth our board would spend that kind of money on a teenager. I really hope your right but I can't see it

Marco it's exactly the kind of investment they like.
The boy will make them millions xxx

3.) 15 Nov 2014
I thought Liverpool was his most likely destination for a fee around £12m?

Don't get me wrong, looks a good player with potential to make club millions but can't see Lawwell taking a gamble on £4.5m fee you quote for a youth player who could progress no futher and not pay same fee for finnbogasson who has been constitent for past previous seasons

I may be against everyone here but I think it would be madness. The kid is just too young for that kind of commitment.I agree he seems to be a special talent but at his age? Really?

{Ed001's Note - he is highly unlikely to sign for a club and be loaned back anywhere. His dad, who is looking after him, has made it plain that he will only move to a club who will give him first team football. Otherwise his intent is to stay where he is until an offer like that comes up. He has had tours of Real Madrid and Liverpool, amongst others, and literally has his pick of European teams. Unless his dad is lying, and I have no reason to doubt him, the kid will stay put unless the right move comes up and that wouldn't be a loan back move. Real Madrid are offering him the chance to play for their B team, Castilla in the Spanish Segunda Division, under the coaching of Zidane. Personally I think that is his most likely option, even though he is a Liverpool fan, as they can offer him playing time as well as working with Zidane and training with Ronaldo, amongst others.}

With what Edd has just said, it would be interesting to know who your 'good authority on this' actually is sacktheboard? Markie

6.) 16 Nov 2014
Green jhedi your right it would be madness spending that sort of money, especially when money could be spent on first team

7.) 18 Nov 2014
As soon as got to the bit about 4.5 million I knew it was rubbish

8.) 19 Nov 2014
Ed, my posts are not making the board. Are there any issues with my posts.

{Ed007's Note - No problem here mate.}

9.) 19 Nov 2014
No chance!

10.) 20 Nov 2014
I am always suspect of reports of transfers that come from a 'good authority'.
If someone can't disclose who their source is then it's pointless making the claim to begin with because it has zero credibility.
'A mate of someone in the know' or 'a friend whose name I can't disclose or he/she might get into trouble' or 'my uncle plays tiddlywinks with a guy who knows an agent' just don't cut it for me.
Please reveal your source or don't disclose news that has no foundation.

Its called celtic rumours. if you have a rumour post it! others can take or leave it. for example; i'm leaving this one! but some people do know other people in the world. its possible. my cousin's boyfriend works at celtic park (tells me absolutely nothing!)

12.) 20 Nov 2014
Edward71, rumours are fine and people should post them. I don't think anyone has a problem with that.
But when someone says their info is on 'good authority' it's then promoted as more a matter of fact than a rumour.
The poster should clarify the source or stop claiming it's on 'good authority'. Perhaps they should just quote it as a general rumour without trying to create the illusion of a more 'important' post.

13.) 21 Nov 2014
Chris my authority comes from a youth team coach at Celtic. So between now and the end of January my post is accurate until proven otherwise. Some people should just engage the brain before the mouth!

14.) 23 Nov 2014
Sounds rubbish to me won't be making a fortune off him if we did get him with a 35% sell on clause can't see anyone here go for more than 12m so with the fee and sell on deducted will only make about 3m profit at the very best

15.) 26 Nov 2014
Thanks for clarifying your source. Why didn't you just say that in the first place?
Anyway, I can't see it happening. Unfortunately I think he'll have much more attractive opportunities than anything we can offer. Real Madrid, Manchester United and many more.
As you said, I can't prove you wrong until the end of January but then you can't prove yourself to be right until then either but I know which opinion most people's money would be on. Here's a clue. it isn't yours!
