Guys international break so a little fun to keep us goin.
Celtic team in 3-5 years time without any unknown signings obv.
Bain
Ralston Hendry Ajer KT
Koassi Ntcham
Mazis
Morgan Edouard K Dembelle.

Granted a little license given with Edouard but u could easily put in Roberts too.
Poss signings to add.
Mcginn
And that's hardly any money spent so future looking good and still we have likes of M. Johnston, Aitchison, Hazard etc.
Batter in lol.

1.) 26 Mar 2018 20:20:09
Fail to see why McGinn is sought after by fans on this forum.

We’ve got too many players in our squad that can play the odd decent game, until such times as he is consistently bossing games against the better SPL teams then he should stick with Lenny at Hibs.

2.) 26 Mar 2018 21:17:31
Rayman youve missed out young Karamoka dembele.

3.) 26 Mar 2018 21:27:07
The next set of signings really are key. We need to start looking at proper replacements in attacking positions. Roberts musonda sinky rogic Armstrong all gone by next year. What do you guys think of McKenna at Aberdeen? Would complete our scottish back 4.

4.) 26 Mar 2018 21:59:52
Big Daz the clue is in k dembelle 🤣🤣🤣.

5.) 27 Mar 2018 10:42:43
Got to agree with you kev t. Can't see what all the fuss about Mcginn is.

6.) 28 Mar 2018 19:38:08
I see similarities with McGinn and James McCarthy when he was at Accies. We missed a trick with not signing McCarthy as he flourished on the bigger stage. Would be ideal getting McGinn in next season getting mentored by Broony for a couple of seasons.

7.) 29 Mar 2018 14:17:42
Stevie av been banging on about mcginn for ages ed says there's interest let's hope we get him. broony mcginn and Armstrong if he stays and ntcham what a midfield young mcginn has fairly filled out he's got the aggression we need.

Here is my take on this window, maybe wishful thinking, but you never know.
Sell:
M. Dembelle 20 million,
Jozo 6 million,
Henderson 0,
Armstrong 4 million,
Plus VVd 7 million,
= £37 million.

Buy:
Caulker 0
McGinn 3 million + Hendo,
Roberts 6 million,
Morgan 0.3 million,
Hendry 0.5 million,
Musonda loan 1.5 million.

4 potential starters.

Massive profit there and scope for Brendan to make a big signing that I firmly believe he has an eye on.

rayman99

1.) 04 Jan 2018 15:46:28
There is no way City would let Roberts go for that, they could easily get 4 or 5 times that from another English side.

2.) 04 Jan 2018 16:02:21
@CelticBhoy123 who's going to pay £25-30M for Roberts? You're having a laugh mate.

3.) 04 Jan 2018 17:31:42
Kev fully agree with that also who is going to pay that for Dembele.

4.) 04 Jan 2018 23:44:53
Why the rush to sell one of our best ever strikers . Only a very negative person would think of selling M D just now with injuries and maybe a wee struggle to regain the form of last season . Unless he is demanding a move just now, I would prefer to keep him until at least the summer and hopefully return of his form and maybe a place in the French squad and we could be looking at something nearer double your £20 m .
We need to maximise our sales value of our star players not rush them to the market at the first dip in form . Few if any strikers are in top form all year every year .

5.) 04 Jan 2018 23:33:17
Is Henderson's contract up?

6.) 05 Jan 2018 00:28:16
I think £40m for Dembele is pure fantasy stuff. He'd have to bang in 30 odd goals and win the EL or something to get that kind of offer which still wouldn't happen as he done it in the "pub league" and the "Mickey mouse cup" Got to look at what Richmond Boakye value is as he's had a better season than Dembele so far in a better league. Not sure what his valuation is but it won't be anywhere near £40m.

7.) 07 Jan 2018 17:33:05
I you are not sure what the value of a player is how do u know it isn't near £40m.

05 Aug 2016 19:28:43
Assuming Sinclair deal done then I think a creative midfielder and we are set with also a few out.
There is an argument for a GK but CG is decent enough and Fasan is considered good enough by many to step in if needed, so looking like a good window for us.
With a strike force of Sinclair LG MD and PR that will put smiles on our faces I think.
Also it means that the spine of the team has been strengthened which is what any good manager addresses.

rayman99

1.) 05 Aug 2016 20:21:32
To me a GK is needed badly, also would like a tough tackling no nonsense midfielder brought in.

2.) 05 Aug 2016 21:11:57
Would you trust fasan or even Gordon in a cl game against quality opposition? I think over the next 2 season we need 2 new GK, but buy one now and put Gordon on the bench.

3.) 05 Aug 2016 21:27:17
Got to agree with chris30. Need a CM who isn't afriad to let himself be known. And btw, if not already know. Flamini was released by the Gunners on a free. 32y and still agressive as ever last i saw him.

4.) 05 Aug 2016 21:29:02
I think we get through this tie mate but I've no seen enough a Fasan and tbh I was never Craig Gordon biggest fan he's made a couple really good saves at times but he's prone to a howler at times its just in he's game still a tough one for me to take when you lose an England international goalkeeper ( England's number 1 in my opinion without being biased lol) and replace him way a guy that been out for some long, would like the lad Worm spurs number 2 no sure if it was Rodgers that signed him for Swansea.

5.) 05 Aug 2016 22:21:56
Rodgers said he wanted another CF i don't know whether that's still the case or not! But I'd love a GK and CM who can take a game by the scruff of the neck!

6.) 05 Aug 2016 23:19:06
Couldn't agree more with chris30 and shugmckie, a hard tackling ball winning midfielder. Flamini wouldn't be the worst shout. There after I think we need a commanding goalie, Gordon is a half decent shot stopper, however is not commanding.

7.) 06 Aug 2016 03:00:34
Bring back the Holy Goalie ;)

8.) 06 Aug 2016 07:12:07
I rather we got an up and coming someone, don't know anything about Sinclair, apart from what I've read, but his career seems to be going in opposite direction.

9.) 06 Aug 2016 08:22:53
the holy goalie was hot and cold also. Remember Begovic goal blunder he was on the other end. Countless times he fluffed it at Celtic also. What about Logan Bailly he was a decent enough keeper I though over Fasan.

10.) 06 Aug 2016 10:16:36
A GK is THE priority now.

18 Mar 2019 19:03:27
Guys I firmly believe this summer transfer window could be our most important ever.
For the first time ever we have plenty of money available to us, up to 50m in the bank I hear.

We could easily get 2x 8-10m players and a 6m player and only spend 25m which would surely bring better quality.

Add a couple of loans and we got 20m left easily, in addition Ntcham will be off with a poss 10m pricetag aswell as about 8-11 players leaving and freeing up wages boosting bank balance again.

So Mr Lawwell I have been a fan of yours over the years so its over to you to send a message to all and sundry that we mean business and spending big this summer will take us onto the 10 hopefully, as the quality of players we should be able to get should stay for the ten as very few players only stay at a club for 1 year.
Just my opinion guys but its there for all to see what we need to do.

rayman99

1.) 18 Mar 2019 19:33:18
Raymann we all know money needs spent but what I would ask you is do you think 10 million buys you serious quality now a days?

2.) 18 Mar 2019 19:42:44
Your two £8-10M and one £6M player will add around £7M per year to the wage bill.

If these player come in on 4 year deals that's a total investment of £54M (£26M fees and £28M wages) .

For 3 players? And all to win 2 more league titles.

Never going to happen.

{Ed007's Note - Why not? When you remove Rodgers & his teams wages and the likes of Compper, Boyata, Scott Allan, De Vries, Gordon, Izaguirre, Gamboa and perhaps Ntcham, Kouassi, Benyu not to mention what we're paying towards the loanees Benkovic, Weah & Burke wages there should be plenty of room to pay good wages to a couple of quality signings.}

3.) 18 Mar 2019 19:48:29
Rayman99:

Not a lot to disagree with there mate:
However, I think we have an even BIGGER issue to fill.
That being the manager, this is THEE biggest acquisition that must be dealt with 1st and one that needs to be sorted.
I`m sure BR will have drawn up a hit list of players that Celtic will still have.
Would BR want those players at Leicester? I don`t think so.
He will get Benko back and Boyata ( free) Players he knows for starters.
Now as for us when we bag the league, Lenny has 2 games to bag the Treble Treble.
As much as Lenny has been here done it, My Honest opinion is that we need to take this position to the next level.
A manager that get us into the league groups of the CL.
That cements 10 in a row. It does not have to be a "Celtic Man ".

however WE CANNOT JUST GO DOWN THE CHEAP OPTION AGAIN.
We have moved on, NOW we must go FORWARD.

4.) 18 Mar 2019 19:53:45
Kev, I’ve just worked it out and the answer is YES. You can get 3,125,000 pints of Guinness for £10M. Quality ☘️👍.

5.) 18 Mar 2019 19:59:28
Ed you’re bang on and take BRs suntan lotion and teeth whitener out and that’s another £1M 👍.

{Ed007's Note - His £14(ish) million settlement from Liverpool will have looked after all that.}

6.) 18 Mar 2019 20:09:45
I do think there will be money spent this summer. Part of the reason why is the money they were will to spend on the right back from Italy in January.
But I also think Celtic fans will need to realign what kind of quality we get for 9-10 million now a days.

{Ed007's Note - There's quality out there at that price, Kev, maybe not in England but places like France, Holland and the Eastern European leagues you will find players that will improve us for less than that - it's a matter of getting in there quick and maybe even taking the odd risk where others won't a la VVD or Wanyama
Going from what I've heard, read and seen from ticket applications our scouts have spent a lot of time in Eastern Europe and Congerton himself was at the most recent Belgrade Derby.}

7.) 18 Mar 2019 19:32:14
The Irish tri-colour was removed by stewards at Dundee yesterday despite it being St Patrick’s day celebrations when the Irish Triclour could be seen all over the world from Newmains to New York and even in parts of Airdrie. Oh that’s right it’s Scotland and it was apparently covering an advertising board. After it was removed pray tell why then was the brave bhoy who claimed it back removed from the stadium when the advertisement was then clear.

He wouldn’t havre needed to jump down for it if it hadn’t been pulled from below and had the gentleman been approached in his seat and the effect on Dundee’s revenue explained to him. Or do I once again smell excrement? I’ll reserve judgment and keep a close eye out for the next Union Flag covering an advertising board in Dundee that is removed. Happy St Patrick’s Day.

8.) 18 Mar 2019 21:18:01
Srdan Babic possibly Ed? We've been linked with him since last summer.

{Ed007's Note - Could be, Kev, maybe Milan Pavkov or Vujadin Savic.}

9.) 18 Mar 2019 22:02:53
13 players out and 3 in?

I know the squad is big but it's not that big.

I'd love it to happen as much as any other fan but Celtic Football club is a business and it will appease the board and shareholders before fans.

Our 2nd string would compete for the league let alone investing £50M+ at it.

The foundations have been laid for 10 in a row with guys like Bain, Ajer, Tierney, Brown McGregor, Forrest, Rogic, Christie, Johnston and Edouard signing deals to see them though til then. Players will be brought in round about them but no chance we will see the kind of outlay the original poster mention.

The guys Ed007 mentioned need to go to reduce the wage bill regardless.

10.) 18 Mar 2019 22:11:25
Rayman90 every transfer window is said to be the most important window ever.
At the end of the summer transfer window our team will hope to have a stronger 1st than at the opening.

11.) 19 Mar 2019 04:24:46
Think it’s safe to add Sinclair to that list I wreckon he’s for the off.

12.) 19 Mar 2019 04:37:46
I think that as well Greenockbhoy, don't know why though. Don't think it needs 25mill to win the league so you can bet PL doesn't. Rangers players just don't have the bottle, can't even get up for a cup tie. Something wrong there. However although Rodgers did bring us a lot of success we were embarrassing in Europe. Unsure of who the right man would be. But as has been said on here, lennon performed against better rangers teams.

09 Mar 2019 14:28:47
Hi ed hope u are well, quick question.
I am a big fan of Burke and I am wondering could we go for him.
I realise 10-12m is not our usual price tag but while I don't want to lose him it looks like Ntcham is off.
Possible 10-12m for Ntcham so would be a free really and we still have 50m in the bank.
Whats your thoughts.

rayman99

{Ed007's Note - I can't see us signing Burke permanently unless WBA do us a turn on the fee but I don't see him having much of a future down there either. If Matt Phillips is keeping him out a Championship team what chance does Burke have of getting into a PL team if WBA go up?}

1.) 09 Mar 2019 21:54:39
West Brom manager has been sacked so that may aid our chances of getting him as I know Darren Moore said he wanted him back for next season.

Ed do you know what the total outlay was on Burke for Weat Brom? The figures I read were around 15 Million but not sure if that was an upfront cost or total cost including clauses ie if they return to the premiership etc. Probably clutching at straws but hopefully if they recovered most of their outlay they would be keen to do business as the boy is a baller and I think he would only get better with more games under his belt and being a key player in a winning team.

{Ed002's Note - The money is of no relevance.}

2.) 10 Mar 2019 02:25:48
Cheers ed002, I'm confused what you mean by that though as ed007 just stated West Brom would need to do us a turn on the fee for a permanent move to be possible, suggesting money would be relevant.
Are you of the opinion that a permanent move is out of the equation overall? Or, if the player asks to move that West Brom would put a price on his head and it's up to Celtic to see if they can afford it?

{Ed001's Note - what he was saying is that it doesn't matter how much they paid, it only matters how much they are asking. Clubs do not base asking price on the amount a player cost them, they base asking price on how much they think they can get for him when trying to get rid.}

12 Feb 2019 00:58:16
I know it doesn't always work that way but for the sake of debate if we had to sell a player to keep Olly Burke who would you choose.
I would go for Ntcham.

rayman99

1.) 12 Feb 2019 07:09:34
Ntcham or rogic.

2.) 12 Feb 2019 07:46:45
I think we will sell Ntcham, he is surplus to requirements in my view. Not consistent enough. If Porto or anyone else comes in with silly money we should take it. Out of all the loans Burke looks like the only one we could have a chance of signing permamently and we should try to sign him as he has been outstanding. I felt it was a strange signing at first but what a signing he has turned out to be already👍.

3.) 12 Feb 2019 09:19:57
He’s hardly surplus to requirement. A fit and firing Ntcham is one of the best players at this club.

4.) 12 Feb 2019 09:58:51
Will Ntcham start if everyone is fit?

5.) 12 Feb 2019 10:44:01
I wouldn't sell any of our best players, we want to be building a squad and not selling off our assets. I do agree Ntcham has been off the boil lately, but remember he has signed an extended contract and there will be games where his ability will be required. Maybe when he has 2 years left to go we could offload but not before. Just my opinion like 💚🍀 Hail Hail.

6.) 12 Feb 2019 10:46:45
Don't understand the eagerness to sell Ntcham when we've still got some of the players we have on the books. How's about we already sold Dembele and use some of that money?

7.) 12 Feb 2019 10:48:34
Certain games ye he will. But the real mistake you made in that comment malky is saying when everyone fit.
As this season has proven we need a squad full of top talent because injuries happen. Poor form happens. We don't need inferior players read to step in if something happens. We need the same level of player to step in.

8.) 12 Feb 2019 10:56:15
Ntcham at his best is a top, top talent; unfortunately this season he has been well below par and obviously injury hasn't helped.
There was talk of him being unsettled after the Dembele transfer and possibly caused his poor form and speculation over his future.
The bottom line is - if he doesn't want to be here cash-in.
Otherwise he needs to buck-up and get back into the managers plans, as right now he has even fallen behind Bitton.

9.) 12 Feb 2019 11:31:02
Wouldn't say he's fallen behind bitton. He's not been fit.

10.) 12 Feb 2019 13:15:52
Cheeky wee swap deal would suit nicely.

11.) 12 Feb 2019 14:12:35
Anyone seeking to sell NtCham, who without doubt is one of our best players, is mad . We should only sell ant ham if and when he demands to go.

12.) 12 Feb 2019 14:12:17
It's a bit early to be speculating about this, let's see how he performs until the end of the season however based on his performances for us to date then apart from Calmac I'd let any one (just one! lol) of our players go if it meant we kept Burke on a permanent long term deal. This lad is class. His speed and strength are phenomenal.

I know he was quoted recently as saying he'd like to stay but that's only a small part of the jigsaw these days, it'll all come down to money and unfortunately if he plays a blinder for us until May some club with more cash could blow us out of the water. HH.

13.) 12 Feb 2019 14:14:17
Lads short memories Ntcham will be a massive player for us when fit when he is on his game Ntcham is an absolute baller.

14.) 12 Feb 2019 14:16:10
Malky u could have a midfield 3 of Mgregor brown Ntcham to mix it up.

15.) 12 Feb 2019 17:15:57
Brown and Ntcham in the same team = sidewards and backwards passing and slow build up.

16.) 12 Feb 2019 18:16:58
Bob The Cat, what about KT? 😨.

17.) 12 Feb 2019 20:35:07
Think you hit the nail on the head there OAB because it looks like his heart and mind are somewhere other than Celtic👍.

14 Jan 2019 20:53:23
Dear Pedro,
My wishlist:
Release Commper
Sell Nitcham 12m to Porto
Release Hayes
Loan Morgan
Loan Allen
Sell Jozo
No contract for Brown (if we are paying 25k let it be a 24yr old not 34)
Release De Vries.
Loan Hendry
Sell Boyata or swap with Benko +money
Release Gamboa
Release Bitton
Release Mulumbu.

Potential transfers.
Loan
MCCarthy
Wanyama
Castagne/ Ellabdoulli
Poss CH

11 out 3/ 4 in, good business practically no transfer fee and millions in.
Good business and squad improvement all round.
Also room for transfers in summer.
I realise not all possible but surely some will be.

rayman99

1.) 14 Jan 2019 22:05:28
Wewease wodger.

2.) 14 Jan 2019 22:11:40
He's a winner 😂.

3.) 14 Jan 2019 23:34:52
surely continuing to pay Brown 25k is not a waste of money but only justice as for years he coud have earned at least double by moving to the EPL and would love to know which 24 year old you have in mind to take Brown's place.

4.) 15 Jan 2019 07:51:43
Well said Donjim, people have to realise that loyalty works both ways. It’s funny that a lot would happily release Brown, who has given us a career worth of service, yet they’d welcome Toure, who wouldn’t look at us twice until he’s too old to get a game anywhere else.

5.) 15 Jan 2019 08:41:08
Surely not weweasing wodger the wobber? 😳.

6.) 15 Jan 2019 08:57:41
Brown is off the back of probably his best seasons as a Celtic player.

Played well start of the season.

Got injured and then stuttered a few games after his injury.

Think people are overplaying the meaning of those performances.

Especially cos he was poor Vs rangers. Our fans always judge a players entire season on that lol.

7.) 15 Jan 2019 09:02:54
Most of that list makes good sense - so I don't see it happening.

8.) 15 Jan 2019 10:05:25
Release? These players are on contracts you can’t just release them.

9.) 15 Jan 2019 10:13:45
Telsa I don't always see eye to eye with your points but that one on brown hit the nail on the head.

12 Nov 2018 18:33:23
Back to the top of the league guys albeit on GD to Hearts, anything below them are just totally irrelevant.

rayman99

1.) 12 Nov 2018 18:43:40
Rayman not so thinketh the Scottish and English media according to whom the Rangers are coming big time. A wonderful display by them on and off the park yesterday. It will be all the sweeter this year to knock them on their arse.

2.) 13 Nov 2018 01:03:20
Is it just me or are Motherwell prone to a few high score defeats on average each season?

Can honestly see sevco sliding down table over next few months. That game for me is irrelevant, they are shockingly bad and Gerrard presents an image of a man who thinks he can buy his way out of trouble. I can see him getting elbow before end of season to be honest.

Can see Hearts bubble bursting as well in near future. Their best player is Naismith without him they got nothing. I think our main threat is Hibs and with Lennon in charge you know every game he will fight to win not only for Hibs but also to go over sevco and tarts as well.

I have said many many times in here when people have a go at the defence that's not our main issue.
Our main issue is our attacking play, we do not vary it enough and now we have no physical presence either.
We have forrest on 1 side while playing well crossing is not a strong point.
We have lost our partnership of KT/ Sinclair on other side.
Eddy is clearly not a penalty box striker but like Samaras likes grass to run into.

When teams pack it like St. Mirren do we struggle to find a way at times.

BR said on International weeks he likes to reflect and think, well I not on his level obv but our set pieces are poor why not try some new things.

Why not try another way of breaking teams down, if it means long ball so be it (not all the time obv) .

Why do we need 16 passes to cross the half way line?

When a team attacks us let's turn it over quickly and counter attack, also why not LET teams attack us sometimes as we can be lethal on the break and team in the SPFL can't cope with us when we have space to run into (see sevco game) .

When teams have set piece against us (yes ok defend properly) but why not set up to have players in counter attack positions.

Look at Liverpool they are always ready to pounce, why can't we?

We would rather make 20 passes before we do and by then opposition team is all behind the ball its not rocket science that's its more difficult to score cos of this.

I know your tongue is firmly in cheek mate, but its an embarrassment that they do this aswell as the "most successful club in the world" nonsense.
They have nothing else to hold onto, its a small club mentality to convince the world they are something, they have embarrassed Scottish football over their signing policy for over 100 yrs, then liquidation and now try to convince the world they are same club.

If they were indeed the same club they wudnt need to say it, everyone would know.

The world will only recognise them as same club if they pay their debts, they cannot have it both ways.
