Celtic finally open contract talks with Bitton (thank god) Boy is class

1.) 22 Sep 2015 10:44:06
Been waiting to hear that for a while. Thank god!

2.) 22 Sep 2015 13:46:30
When you compare him to the CM's in the EPL it must only be a matter of time before the mid-table sides start making a move. If he bulked up a bit he would fit right in to any team outside the top 5/6.

3.) 22 Sep 2015 14:46:45
Guys like Lampard, Fabregas and Ramsey play/have played CM in EPL and aren't any stronger than Bitton.

4.) 23 Sep 2015 07:22:14
Good news. Hopefully Johansen and Rogic to follow.

kevbhoy, I was shot down for saying Bitton will play for Barca lol but I wouldn't go as far as Lampard or Fabregas just yet!

5.) 23 Sep 2015 11:26:10
He's definitely not at that level at all but he has a bigger frame than them and can put himself about. My point is that you don't need to be a beast like Vic to be a success down south. What he'd need to improve more than anything, IMO, is the time he takes on the ball sometimes. I've no doubt he could make the grade in a top league if he keeps progressing like he is.

6.) 23 Sep 2015 11:26:17
Johansen better get his finger out if he wants to stay in the team never mind a new contract.

7.) 23 Sep 2015 13:15:21
As much as I think we miss a figure like Vic at times, Bitton is different. He's more cultured, a better 'footballer' if that makes sense. He's said himself he's not a CDM but a playmaker. But he's adding to his game all the time and his defensive awareness has improved in that deep position. SB ain't a CDM for me either. It's about him and SB striking a balance in midfield. One goes one stays and all of that. If NB played next to a natural anchor he would flourish in any league. His range of passing is getting up to that of Ki.

As for Johansen fab aye he does need to pull his finger out and replicate what he has shown. We're pretty healthy in CAM with Johansen, Armstrong, Commons, Rogic but I'd still like to get him tied down and give him the benefit of the doubt having being injured and with the timing of seasons/amount of games he's played he hasn't had much rest. But that's why RD can use the options above.

13 Jul 2015 18:02:48
Sine nobody has mentioned it yet Celtic looking at Manchester city striker Jordy Hiwula 20 year old I think

1.) 13 Jul 2015 21:01:18
Seen this to is this real interest or just linked because he's at Man City? And is he any good? ED?

{Ed007's Note - I've got nothing mate.}

2.) 13 Jul 2015 21:06:59
I hope Guidetti has warned him that he won't get called up to the Sweden squad.

3.) 14 Jul 2015 21:33:06
Don't know much about him so don't know how he matches up with the boys coming through at the moment. If he is no better than Donnelly then I would prefer to develop him as there is a think he has a chance of breaking into the first team at some point.

08 Jul 2015 14:14:40
apparently we are in for Polish striker free agent Lukasz Gikiewicz

1.) 08 Jul 2015 17:02:24
Lets hope Chicago Fire beat us to him then.

2.) 08 Jul 2015 18:48:48
Hahaha what with his phenomenal scoring record 9 in 64 real gem of a player lol

3.) 08 Jul 2015 19:36:39
Been bandied around Bulgaria Cyprus and Kazakhstan the past few years. Then again I did ask Santa for an internationally experienced striker.

4.) 08 Jul 2015 21:45:03
This has got to be BS I'm gonny start supporting Clyde if we seen this dud!

05 Jul 2015 16:43:22
Unbelievable Celtic pull out of race for Jell Vossen as they don't think he's worth 2 million ummmm. Ciftci is??

1.) 05 Jul 2015 17:44:50
We already had a bid accepted for Jell Vossen. So if we are pulling out it is not because we don't think he is worth 2 million.

2.) 05 Jul 2015 18:45:24
BBC reports they are not willing to match the asking price 3 million euros = around about 2 million pounds mate therefore they don't rate him as a 2 million pound player

3.) 05 Jul 2015 19:06:56
Must be true then if the BBC reports it lol. They accepted a bid from us and a contract offer as put on the table for vossen. So if he's not coming to Celtic then its down to the player and not the clubs valuation of him. I'm I right ed or am I babbling here 😄

4.) 05 Jul 2015 19:17:25
For f*ck sake Celtic.

We may as well just spend the 2m on lubricant to prepare for the a*se raping we are going get in Europe again this season.

5.) 05 Jul 2015 19:20:23
I can't believe this. They don't think vossen is worth 2m but they think Ciftci is nearly worth that. This 8s a flumping joke

6.) 05 Jul 2015 20:34:02
Think we're jumping the gun a bit here. As ed has said repeatedly Genk have accepted a bid. It looks to me like the player is happy to leave us hanging in the hope an epl club come in.

7.) 06 Jul 2015 08:25:32
If, as it seems, he'd rather join Burnley, then each to their own I guess. I wonder how many of our current side would like a move to Turf Moor though.

05 Jul 2015 14:23:46
Celtic put in second loan bid for odeggard from real Madrid fingers crossed this stops the awful mcgeady rumour

1.) 05 Jul 2015 15:58:27
Is mcgeady not away to Sunderland

2.) 05 Jul 2015 16:07:08
Don't get me wrong this lad has got a bright future but is he really any better than what we have right now? is he going to improve the team am not so sure. if he was to come on loan he'll be wanting to start every week and how is that going to make the rest of the midfield feel when a 16 year old lad is on the team sheet before them not sure this is a good move, also am gutted we have pulled out of the race for Vossen.

3.) 05 Jul 2015 16:24:48
Where did you here that mate can't find it anywhere. Hope your right

4.) 05 Jul 2015 17:36:08
Is he not a CM? I think we could do with another CM but we can't gaurantee him first team football!

5.) 05 Jul 2015 23:47:58
Was on bbc mate ano they talk shit but because a Dutch player turned them down and is off to Newcastle there bidding for mcgeady

ED mate any idea when the magician Rogic is back? I think the boy is shear class and there's such a big miss when the lad does not play. Cheers buddy :)

{Ed007's Note - Rogic returned to training on Tuesday so he should be in contention for the weekend if everything goes to plan.}

1.) 26 Jan 2017 15:11:01
Cheers mate

{Ed007's Note - (yes)

2.) 26 Jan 2017 18:00:34
Did Rodgers not say the other day he was about 2 weeks away

3.) 26 Jan 2017 21:31:24
I know Ed and many others don't agree but I'd be massively massively disappointed if we sell Gordon. I know he has his (kung fu) moments of madness (and can get beat at best post) but I still rate him big time as a shot stopper and a keeper. Apart from Boruc and Forster we've never had much better than Craig over the (many) years I've watched the Hoops 🍀

4.) 27 Jan 2017 07:56:19

19 Jan 2017 18:24:46
Read in the Daily rag that barry mckay is a better talent then KT. Honestly who writes this Pi**

1.) 19 Jan 2017 18:47:57
Seen that masel mate. utter guff! he's had 1 good game against us noo he's scotlands hottest prodigy! Maybe f he did it week in week oot lyk wee tierney does (being consistant) maybe people would take notice. when u scroll fru the dark side pages they've sed he's not up to it. but long n behold! 1 good game against the mighty champs n your the best thing since slice breed haa.

2.) 19 Jan 2017 19:44:17
Ah, the imperceptible talents of Barrie McKay. For the team second in the League, two goals might seem like nothing. And that's because it is.

3.) 19 Jan 2017 20:14:34
The banter on here is class. Barrie McKay is better than KT and Blackburn are intrested in Efe Ambrose. first class😂😂

4.) 19 Jan 2017 21:08:46
Dont get me wrong, playing 1 good game in 10 in that outfit is quite a feat. You can smell the dung wafting across the southside with this story. They need fast cash, so they tell their pals at media towers to spread the word of the collosal talents of their wonder winger, word spreads, now their are Premiership teams interested (none named) , and teams from Europe (none named) . No price has been mentioned. Its all just guff of the very highest order, KT is a powerful and fearless tackling defender whom attacks wave after wave, Mckay has a little bit of skill it has to be said, but is physically weak, and is just too inconsistent, maybe worth £1m to a lower championship side. There is no debate as to who is the better talent, they know it as do we. Its utterly shameless media prostitution by them. Its cringeworthy, and those inside clubs all over Britain will know exactly what they're upto, tried it before with Jelavic with the famous £9m mystery bidder to try and get as much as possible. They are going bust again and trying every well used trick in the book. Sit back and just laugh my freinds, this is one long lingering laughable fall into the bigots abyss and a very timely death indeed. I can only wish them all the very worst

5.) 19 Jan 2017 22:28:49
had a right good giggle at that headline, KT is a DECENT player but Barrie McKay is the real talent hahahaha! Brilliant! This is tierney who at 3 years younger than the other boy has a league winners medal tucked away with another on the way, tierney who has played and scored in the champions league while the other boy has never kicked a ball in European football!

It's actually laughable that these half wits actually write this and expect to be taken seriously! Lol. they would do and say anything to try and take the limelight from the champions! But deep down they know that will never happen and there precious sevco are nowhere near us on or off the pitch!

Better manager check, better players check, more money check, better fans a definite check, a board who knows what it's doing check, better and bigger stadium check, unbroken history check! Did I miss anything out? I think u get my drift! HH

6.) 20 Jan 2017 13:45:30
Daily and Sunday Sport. They did not pretend to be anything other than what they were. Remember being on a rig in North Sea and tool pusher (basically senior man on rig) asked me to sort out our newspaper delivery as we had down manned and we're getting too many. He was a sport fanatic Football, rugby Golf, you name it. So I made up a list and one of the boys suggested the sport. Great idea, says boss. When it came his face was a picture (from Fife he was) . "Whits, aw this crap? It's aw bum, ti#s and noodies.

7.) 20 Jan 2017 14:23:02
the more we thrash these people the more sicker of it they get, their stories would give hans christian anderson a run for his money, i gave up buying these hun rags ages ago. the nearer we get to ten in a row the old chestnut of league reconstruction will rear its ugly head again just you watch.

8.) 20 Jan 2017 14:45:55
So im not sure how reliable it is but apparently one of the writers from the daily sevco has been sacked. Which is a shame because now what I'm a going to read to make me laugh in the morning such as lepzig are going to bid 7 million for mckay, KT is an okay talent, big pete runs scottish football, on tuesday we are going to need to build an ark with the flood of money red bull will put in to sevco I can see them lined up 2 by 2 brother and sister hand in hand :)

11 Dec 2016 01:25:51
Alright ED and Bhoys having a bevvie and watching the King do you think we will ever see a better header (if its a word) of the ball than that man Larsson or a more unselfish personn he must have had a ridiculous amount of assists. Heard someone say the other day Dembele is in same mould like old yellow they need to be taken outside and put down.

1.) 11 Dec 2016 02:38:07
MD is a very talented young striker, but no way cut from the same cloth as Henke. Like you say with his assists, plus his vision, tactical awareness, creativity - a totally different forward to MD - who's physical ability seems to be his main strength. MD could develop in those areas, but I'd be pleasantly surprised to see a forward for Celtic as good as HL whilst on this earth.

2.) 11 Dec 2016 10:33:14
MD is only 20.

3.) 11 Dec 2016 10:56:30

As much as henrik was decent, I will NEVER forgive him for that misplaced pass at Easter road that led to chic charnly scoring the winner.

I was disgusted then and I remain utterly disgusted by that episode today

MD has yet to assist chic charnly with a goal against Celtic and I don't think he ever will unless Celtic get paired with dukla pumperston is a cup tie

For me at least that puts MD ahead of HL.

4.) 11 Dec 2016 11:10:41
Wow talk about holding a grudge PW lol! Charnley still had a lot to do.

Sometimes you see MD drifting into the wide areas like Henke did, creating space, but I don't see the two as being from the same mould really.

MD could go on to be a better player TTTS, but he isn't yet.

5.) 11 Dec 2016 12:28:55
Agreed Jim Tim, too early to compare. What are the chances of him peaking at our club now given the rudeness and wealth of other clubs.

6.) 11 Dec 2016 12:44:02
If MD. didn't take griffiths place then you may have your answer if griffiths continues to get 30 plus goals every season and had the chance in europe well you never know. Also the wee man has some leap for the size of him and a great header of the ball.

7.) 11 Dec 2016 12:45:46
Ha don't think i read that post right. : (

8.) 11 Dec 2016 13:59:57
Comparing him to Henrik is a bit of a stretch as it's only his first real break through season. I would say though that he's often like an extra Centre half around corners and he seems able to pick ball up and connect in midfield pretty strongly too. He looks like he could become a total all round handful at any level but he also has a lot of expectation on his shoulders. Reckon Henrik more than made up for the hibs game like Moussa also made up for that pen miss. Seem to remember MD had a few detractors on here few months back.

9.) 11 Dec 2016 15:03:21
I still have nightmares about chic charnly scoring for jobs versus Celtic thus making henrik ( overall ) a dud who may have scored a barreload and may have assisted hundreds of times and may have run himself in to the ground game after game after game BUT after the charnly debacle he should have been shown the door with vidar riseth used as an ancillary forward. VR would have gone on to score more IMVHO.

10.) 11 Dec 2016 17:02:29
Too much Sherry with your Sunday dinner paradise lost HH.

11.) 11 Dec 2016 18:08:00
Henrik is in my top three greatest players ever to play for the hoops in my time as a supporter . I'm sorry to say that I don't think we'll ever see his like again playing for Celtic .

12.) 11 Dec 2016 19:32:14
People have always said we will never see another like him when one of our heroes level.
There will be others just hope I am here to see the next one.

13.) 11 Dec 2016 20:24:51
Different position but we may already be seeing the next great player in KT. He will be get even better hopefully with us for a while yet. HL was best player I seen in the hoops in my time, but I give great credit to Sutton. He helped HL the same way he helped Shearer. Think big sutty was undervalued but HL became the King.

14.) 11 Dec 2016 21:18:06
Sutton could do a shift in defence and central mid as I recall. His link up with Larson and Sutton was amazing, particularly in that Blackburn UEFA game.

15.) 12 Dec 2016 07:24:15
Prob get shot down here but imo sutton was the best footballer we had for yrs, could stick him anywhere and he would do a great job.

16.) 12 Dec 2016 07:57:26
Paradise clearly at the wind up.

17.) 12 Dec 2016 08:51:13
I would not compare the two as they are different types of player but one similarity I see is their work rate and willingness to help out in defence.

18.) 12 Dec 2016 15:21:24
I think Dembele is likely to be picked in most games, if he doesn't suffer injury . If for no other reason than we need his height defending set pieces. On Friday we had only two recognised headers in team& thus were under pressure defending free kicks
I think we need four at least who are strong in the air defending corners and free kicks.

20 Aug 2016 23:03:27
Did any of you guys see suttons interview at the end of BT game actually shows he is Celtic to the bone what did you think ED 07 and rest of you guys.

1.) 21 Aug 2016 00:40:30
Sutton loves Celtic just like u and i.

2.) 21 Aug 2016 00:06:50
Sick of all this negativity. All people want to talk about is dives and flags rather than good performances. Surprised Craigan didn't put the boot in about the "dive" after his rant about the foul on SS when he won a penalty against Motherwell but I like Sutton he says it how it is.

3.) 21 Aug 2016 00:51:10
Talks sense a lot of the time, but he's been blinded by an agenda. Always amuses me when such disatrous managers have such damning things to say about people who have achieved so much more. Nice to hear from you Chris, but move on.

4.) 21 Aug 2016 08:07:20
Just because he didn't cut it as a manager doesn't mean he can't make relevant points about other managers failing, wish all this Ronnie stuff was finished, the Ronnie worshippers, praise him, praise him, can't seem to understand that the other lot (me) , thought Ronnie was a very nice guy, is a great nutrionist and motivational speaker, but just didn't know how to manage a football team, we will just have to agree to differ on our assesment of Ronnies abilities.

5.) 21 Aug 2016 14:23:04
Sutton got lucky with R D, Sutton was ridiculing R D before he even had definitely got the job . Sutton thought a failed Linclon City Manager would be better than a man who had success in Norway .
Sutton and you Aindoh are about the only two that keeps on about R D.

6.) 21 Aug 2016 22:45:49
Old bhoy aindoh, and big Sutton seem to revel in attacking and trying to belittle, and wait for it, the former Celtic manager, yes the Celtic manager, a guy who has probably managed more friendly games for Celtic than Sutton managed games in his managerial career so far. Add to that 3 trophies out of 6 in 2 years, only abilities we should question r Sutton's to actually stop talking shoitte and trying to have a go at Rd cause he replaced his buddy Lennon n he was never good enough to be offered the job n aindoh I assume u never celebrated any of rd's trophy wins as that would certainly be quite a sevco thing 2 do, slag a manager but take the joy that comes with the winning done by that manager and his team. Stop embarrassing yourself, support the team and the manager, whoever they are n move on pal.
Thanks for the trophies Rd, looking forward to that continuing under brendan.
Hail hail.

7.) 23 Aug 2016 18:55:19
I supported R.D from the day R.D was appointed to long after he left, my conscience is clear I gave him my full support.

14 Aug 2014 14:19:06
