Totally understand the feeling about lb it's the only position in the last 3 years where there hasn't been any real change yet it remains a liability that hasn't been changed.i appreciate some signing work and some don't that's just the way of football but lb doesn't appear to have been tried to improve.

Folks

Previous posts by me highlight my sympathy for izzy. He does a lot of work and is certainly committed. Another poster highlighted that it could be lack of competition that has seen his defensive standards drop off. He does have a big job and the system requires that he can defend and support the wide players and deliver a cross from time to time. I fear however that his reputation precedes him and that means that the opposition ( especially in Europe) will attack the weak spot which brings even more pressure to an area of the field that we ourselves view as problematic.

Izzy has problems stacking up. He won't get any respite with opponents now circling. He NEEDS to get on the training field and work on his defensive positioning and decision making. It could be that he needs a little more support too from his DMC and left sided CH ( ie biton and whoever is let of centre on defence). Izzy needs to know that his forays up front are compensated by a left leaning bias from those charged with stopping opposition counters as the wee man cannot be in 2 places at once unlike padre pio!

6.) 21 Jul 2015 13:24:33
Totally agree Jim! It really hasn't helped izzy not having competition for his position! And he's suffered big time for it! Hope we get a good solid left back in and it gives izzy the kick up the arse he needs,because this past 2 years his defending has been awful!

7.) 22 Jul 2015 13:01:45
Every euro tie they target him as weak link. Primarily because he is. I don't know this guy but we need a more competent defender. I like izzy but we need better.

QPR after Matthews £1.8m.

1.) 25 Jun 2015 08:59:28
Would personally want double that.

2.) 25 Jun 2015 10:02:27
That's probably a decent deal. He hasn't been at his best for a couple of seasons now. Plus if we're after Janko then his chances might be a bit more limited.

Any word on fall and steven fletcher? Seemingly they are the next 2 targets.

jimthetim8

1.) 18 Jan 2016 00:36:09
steven fletcther, no, no, no, and thrice no.

2.) 18 Jan 2016 07:55:01
That's 4 no's.

3.) 18 Jan 2016 07:58:49
Technically, it's 6 nos;)

4.) 18 Jan 2016 10:56:45
You could argue it's 8 no's! I'd actually take him though, purely because it's a Bosman, he'd also be a good foil for Griffiths if we played a 2! He might be more settled in Hamilton - Ed will know, someone told me his old dear is from there! He knows the club, but for me the biggest thing is his experience, he has played at a good level, for different clubs, he's still under 30 and should actually be in his prime, and to be fair over the last couple of years he's had injuries, O'Neill paid over £12 million for him! So all in all I would take a chance on him! I'd prefer someone else as well though in this window and wait until the summer for Fletcher because he won't need time to settle in! This Norweigan kid had some goal scoring record, even in Europe, and he's more a 2nd striker! If we could do that and let a few like GMS/ Cifti go on loan even for a year and a half, and Christie and O'Connell on loan for 6 months! I'd happily let Izzy, Mulgrew, Stokes, Commons and Forrest leave full time!

5.) 18 Jan 2016 18:04:45
I give Flether his ninth no. He has played very little football over the last four years, either through injury or by his manager not wanting him in first eleven . These years of on / off football wouldn't augur well in my opinion for a player who would have to take a massive cut in wages and still be among our highest earners.

{Ed007's Note - Over the last five years Fletcher has spent 93 and 158 days out with two separate ankle injuries on top of 26 (TWENTY SIX) other spells out injured.}

6.) 19 Jan 2016 01:01:59
ed007 he isn't exactly over played as I said and it's doubtful if he could reach his previous best form and play at that level consistently.

{Ed007's Note - His previous best form isn't too hot imo. He's one of those strikers that doesn't score many goals. Is Feletcher JP's proposed striker signing this window like Danny Wilson was his CB recommendation in the summer? It wouldn't be the first time JP has enticed Fletcher to sign for a club. I can't see why an average player with an appalling injury history would have ever shown up on RD's radar for whatever reason.}

7.) 19 Jan 2016 18:07:16
Let us hope that Fletcher never becomes a realistic target by Celtic . He has promised more than he has delivered.

A lot of rumours celtic are looking at rangers left back Wallace £1m. If he's bought by celtic that would surely be the last straw for the rangers support .

jimthetim8

1.) Strangely I heard the same thing but it was an enquiry nothing more and it was instigated by the players agent. Seems he has to leave but his wife does not want to leave Scotland for personal reasons. ED, any sniff of this?

{Ed007's Note - I think someone's yanking your chain, why would we sign a 27-year-old who has been plugging away in the lower leagues for the past three years? He wasn't good enough for us when he left Hearts and as far as I know the thing with his wife was from when he could have left Rangers after liquidation, she had not long given birth and didn't fancy a move to England away from her family so soon after starting a family, that and the fact no team in the English Championship would match his weekly wage at the new club convinced him to TUPE over to the new club.
If Bolton can raise funds they would probably be interested, I'd be surprised if RD knows who Wallace even is, he won't personally sits and watch all the wee diddy team's matches.}

2.) 04 Jan 2015 02:31:36
I heard it supposedly came from a fake lee wallace twitter account

{Ed007's Note - And people still argue against the death penalty.... There's a reason for bringing it back right there.}

3.) Thanks Ed my thoughts on it exactly. It does not make sense on any level.

4.) Looks like you were wrong about podolski ed, he can play for inter in Europe.
