Sheffield Wednesday open to transfer or loan for stevie May I wanted us to sign him at the time he signed for them but isn't exactly what we need up front! But that's probably the best we can hope for lol

SOS BHOY

1.) 27 Aug 2015 15:19:56
Need more of a target man type in my opinion to offer us something different in attack.

2.) 27 Aug 2015 17:27:58
Stevie may a would seriously hope not

3.) 27 Aug 2015 18:43:51
I agree Its not the striker we need we need a target man! He is too much like ciftci except scored more goals lol! I was just stating a loan signing like that may be what we get not saying we should sign him

4.) 27 Aug 2015 19:41:40
Sos bhoy dunno what's happened just 8 days ago a was fine and even up until the 95 min goal bergit scored to make 3.2 its been all doom and gloom and obviously with reason am so disheartened the now what's going on its actually scarey stuff lack of ambition lack of investment lack of ability just a lack of anything right now. Big changes are required from top to bottom

5.) 27 Aug 2015 21:15:12
Agree its not what we need but I would have preferred him over Ciftci

6.) 27 Aug 2015 22:07:14
For the players we have and what we have bought plus the experience our manager has in European competition I do t see why we are surprised at our situation. If we want to improve we need to spend and that in turn would attract a better quality manager. I said at time we r a development team right now so we may as well develop in the Europa league

7.) 27 Aug 2015 22:56:12
At the time I thought we'd missed a good opportunity when we didn't sign Connor Sammon.

30 Jul 2015 22:10:46
Ed, who is interested in VVD? And how much do u think we will be looking for?

SOS BHOY

{Ed007's Note - So far the only team to have shown any concrete interest is Southampton but they were told nothing will happen either way until our European qualification is sorted out. Everton would become involved if Stones leaves them for Chelsea. There are murmurings of Newcastle interest since McLaren took over there as he was managing FC Twente in 2012/13, the season VVD caught our scouts eye.
Price wise I would have thought anything north of £8 million but the board have previously said it'll take a minimum of £10 million to have any chance of landing the Dutchman.}

1.) 31 Jul 2015 09:04:56
I don't know if they will launch a bid now as they have managed to get Steven Caulker on loan for the season

22 Jul 2015 01:18:36
I heard RD really wants this St Pauli LB! Quite a few people have said but could be rubbish but I think he does

SOS BHOY

1.) 22 Jul 2015 16:57:53
Why do you think he does? Have you got a source, or are you just using The Force? :)

2.) 23 Jul 2015 16:23:30
Yes a source that was with Celtic last year doing some things but isn't any more lol

14 Jul 2015 03:18:39
Ed Southampton fans seem to think they are after VVD! Any truth in this? Southampton or Everton would be a brilliant move for him! We're going to miss him if/when he goes!

SOS BHOY

{Ed007's Note - It's no secret that Southampton are interested in VVD.}

1.) 14 Jul 2015 11:53:19
I know that but are they stepping up their efforts?

{Ed007's Note - There's nothing changed, CFC are still adamant that nothing will happen until our European qualification is decided.}

2.) 14 Jul 2015 19:25:17
I was quite confident that he would stay until our CL fate was decided but the fact he did not start against Sociedad makes me less confident that he could be on the move soon. Really hope my gut is wrong on this one.

{Ed007's Note - I don't think he started against Sociedad because he's banned for tomorrow's game, RD will have wanted players available to get a run out.}

3.) 14 Jul 2015 21:28:53
Cheers for that bit of info Ed as I was starting to worry he was offski sooner rather than later.

{Ed007's Note - (yes)

22 Jun 2015 00:34:36
Supposedly Swansea want VVD, I think the Swansea owner has the balls to spend the cash we are looking for! He done it with bony!

SOS BHOY

1.) 22 Jun 2015 07:26:41
How many EPL teams is that now? Off the top of my head we've had Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton, Sunderland, Newcastle, Southampton Norwich and Swansea. As long as we have him for the qualifiers. Then again, if a team comes in for him that he won't be cup tied in Europe, is there any point him leaving? His price will probably half next season and I reckon PL would find it impossible to turn down an eight figure bid though.

2.) 22 Jun 2015 11:08:52
I agree jim! We need to sell and re-invest and make as much as possible I think we can get 10-12m and if we invest I'd be happy I like big VVD but can understand his frustration at being over looked for Holland because of our league!

3.) 22 Jun 2015 13:34:01
I agree great player for us but sell him now and bring some one in before we start in Europe so he can settle in with Boyata at the back No use keeping a player that wants to leave

4.) 22 Jun 2015 21:00:46
I'd prefer to keep him for another season and hopefully he will help get us to group stage and have a decent showing in the group stages.

Yes this would mean his value would go down but the CL money would easily compensate for that.

5.) 23 Jun 2015 13:28:04
Thats where I stand rab but I think january might be the best time to sell. That way we have him for qualifiers and groups. A good showing in the groups should maintain his price and in january there might be one of two sides that bit more desperate for a CB. With all this SKY money burning holes in EPL clubs pockets they all seem to be waiting for one another to play their hands. Early days yet but I reckon there'll be a few English clubs splashing the cash come the new year.

Iv got to say I like what our new CB saying and how he is saying it let's hope he is commanding and a leader and more signings that RD wants to build his team with out having players forced upon him!

SOS BHOY

1.) 19 Jan 2016 06:22:53
He can talk the talk. Let's just hope he can follow it up.

Whichever 'journalist' asked him about moving to England during his signing press conference is another for my little black book though.

2.) 19 Jan 2016 12:57:06
Apparently he's a leader which is what the current team are crying out for. Lustig for me doesn't possess either the physical presence or the vocal presence to fill that role. We are very short in that area.

3.) 19 Jan 2016 21:54:50
Let's wait and see. All of a sudden this is a RD signing? So let's see if he is any use! If not is he a Parks signing?

20 Nov 2015 19:08:37
How's it going ed? No posted in a wee while! dyu think Nesbit will be out on loan in January? The boy needs to play at a higher level than u20's maybe hibs to help them with promotion and wilth Henderson there in the MF he would settle in well.

SOS BHOY

{Ed007's Note - It's all good here thanks and nice to see you back. I wouldn't be surprised to see Nesbitt go out on loan but I think it might be next summer rather than January, I'm hoping to see him get a few games under his belt as the season goes on.}

1.) 21 Nov 2015 13:00:43
He seems to be getting a lot of hype and from what Iv seen u can kinda understand but think we need to hold off on the pressure of being our next big thing! What about the young Bhoy who won the best player in the world for his age a wee while ago is he progressing?

{Ed007's Note - Aidan Nesbitt is already a better player than Scott Allan and I'm a great believer that if you're good enough you're old enough, the only way you can find out if your young players are going to make it is to see them in games.
Calvin Miller is the young player you're talking about, he seems to be progressing well and could be another player who might benefit from a loan spell.}

08 Sep 2015 18:30:00
Iv got to say WTF was strachan thining not playing Griffitths? Did fletcher actually have a shot? Even mulgrew is getting a start I hope the next generation of young scots produce some special players we have no talisman in the team some good players but no star player! I wasn't a fan of strachan at Celtic I was always on the edge of my seat every game and was befuddled by his team selections but he still won games I hope he realises fletcher is not the answer! Why not Rhodes if fit?

SOS BHOY

1.) 08 Sep 2015 21:02:36
Celtic latest young batch will be fit to supply Scotland with a rich vein of midfielders and midfielders and midfielders oh yes and midfielders.

2.) 08 Sep 2015 23:29:23
I know our back four is disgusting! Hanley? When will we produce a defender to properly lead a Colin Hendry of sorts! I get we have unity but at least Wales have bale and Ramsey we don't have any one of that quality is that not what mark watt is supposed to be producing from grass roots?

3.) 09 Sep 2015 00:07:08
Colin Hendry,you must be having a laugh,I can still picture that over rated carthorse elbowing that San Marino defender,then wee Craigy (we got more throw ins than them )Brown trying to defend his cretinous behaviour.

4.) 09 Sep 2015 00:50:24
Colin Hendry? Are you mad? Stephen Hendry would do a better job and he plays snooker!

5.) 09 Sep 2015 08:08:14
We have young striker who is at real Madrid and numerous top quality midfielders. So the future is definitely bright.

6.) 09 Sep 2015 08:34:47
Re Colin Hendry, I liked the guy and thought he was a good strong stopper. I was at the Scotland game (right along from the 6 yard line so saw everything very clearly) when he eventually lost patience with that niggling wee gobshhhh and He was lucky it was only an elbow MSM (as they do) were indicating possible assault charges and I actually contacted his club and offered witness statement I felt so strongly about it. No time for wife and kid beaters but would have him in my defensive line up on his game.

7.) 09 Sep 2015 08:37:18
He's at Brighton now Marco hasn't played a game yet but Harper does look decent

8.) 09 Sep 2015 15:34:03
That's the boy jack harper is on loan or did they sign him permanently.

{Ed007's Note - It's a permanent deal, Marco.}

9.) 09 Sep 2015 15:37:49
Hendry wore his heart on his sleeve and gave everything for our national team! We do have a good bunch of MF coming through but we should be producing more when mulgrew is our first choice LB it says it all! I just hope we can pull it all together soon for the sake of our country's pride and co- efficient!

10.) 09 Sep 2015 15:38:04
what we need is alan hansen, willie miller, ,martin buchan, richard gough , billy mcneil types.
why are we not producing this type of player anymore?
even big Eck was miles better than colin hendry IMO

03 Sep 2015 16:55:57
Not posted over the transfer window as we done what I expected with no CF! I was hoping PL was going to surprise us but didn't really think anything was going to happen, I think the names being dropped were just to make it sound like the club were trying with Kramaric being mentioned! I know nothing about our new CB so it's a clean slate for him to impress. Ed what did we actually pay for him and what was the percentage sell on even though it doesn't really matter as the money isn't gonny be spent on the team lol

SOS BHOY

{Ed007's Note - The fee was £3.2 million but the sell on clause isn't clear with some suggesting it's as high as 40%. Dinamo Zagreb were initially looking for 50% and CFC were only offering 25%.}

1.) 04 Sep 2015 01:10:57
I thought the fee was about that ed, just stupid reporters getting confused with pounds and euros u would the think they would have half a brain to write the correct fee! What's your take on this scott brown nonsense on this page ed?

{Ed007's Note - I've answered your question on Brown elsewhere, sorry it took so long to reply I have been busy elsewhere all morning.}

28 Aug 2015 19:33:44
What about trying to sign origi on loan from Liverpool? I can't imagine he is going to get much playing time there and we need s powerful CF!

SOS BHOY

1.) 29 Aug 2015 02:42:50
A striker that doesn't score, sounds like our type.

I completely agree with every one here it would be extreme stupidity on our behalf but would we be happy if it was at least an 18 month loan if this boy is as good as being said? An additional quality player for next season wouldn't be a bad thing except holding back your own players!

Why don't we wait and see if we sign the boy and if he's anygood? And have a moan at the end of the window if the positions that each person wants filled is not completed then moan about it just a suggestion lol.

That will do for me as long as he's signed kevbhoy! And none of these stupid loans with no option to buy I'm hoping it's just lazy journalism as usual as this CB was done on the quiet!

I am the first to admit I didn't want LG anywhere near CP but he's proved me wrong and I'm glad of that! The icing on the cake is he wants to be here and that's the type of player I want at paradise! LG just keeps getting better, with his work rate and desire it makes me proud to have him as a Bhoy!

SOS BHOY

{Ed007's Note - I don't think there was any doubts that LG would score goals for us domestically, it was his off the field behaviour that irked me and it still does. He's as much of a man as my 14 year old niece and definitely not the type of person who should be held up as a role model to youngsters.}

Ed I thought the opening to my post was a factual observation not in need of editing lol! that might be the case that they are currently doing a better job on a lower budget but it doesn't mean that our budget isn't shoe string in comparison to the size of our club! And we have people making signings in our club that shouldn't be! There is a larger emphasis on having a coach to produce the next crop of Celtic first team players and RD is giving any good enough a fair crack of the whip!

Celticforever, you and many others are far too short sighted to see the bigger picture! It's hard for RD as the transition is being made on a shoe string budget and selling our top players, now RD is having more of a say in the transfers next season is when he should be judged as loosing an excellent CB partnership and starting from scratch it is an uphill struggle I'm not getting carried away by a couple of results but I can see what the end game is!
