Ed do you think there's any truth in the Robert Gumny rumours?

Pud

{Ed007's Note - All I know is that there has been talks with Lech Poznan.}

1.) 25 Jan 2019 21:14:51
I wouldn't be paying 4.5 million for this guy like, is he any better than Ralston? I read somewhere that he is good going forward but a bit suspect defensively.

2.) 25 Jan 2019 22:18:47
Celtic shouldn't be paying £4.5M for a guy based on the fact that you, personally, don't know how good he is?

3.) 25 Jan 2019 22:56:27
Jesus moaning has been constant on this site about not spending then when there is talk of it we get
I wouldn't be paying 4.5 million for this guy like.

4.) 26 Jan 2019 01:57:30
4.5 million spending too much on gamble. Loan deal not spending enough moaning Minnie's would still find something to complain abouut after winning couple million on lottery. I have a friend just like this. its just their way. Not mine but wouldn't it be merda if we all thought the same way. Sevconians are the exception as most dont/ can't think for themselves,

5.) 26 Jan 2019 03:08:02
Ffs even when Celtic are going for a rb there is moaning spend money or not make your mind up the young lad isn't the answer just yet.

6.) 26 Jan 2019 14:11:27
I'm sure he's a good kid and looks like he can whip in a good ball. But he's not a starting 11 regular so £4.5m is a bit much. Can see us getting him for cheaper. Maybe offer them Gamboa and £2m 😋.

7.) 27 Jan 2019 10:25:29
We need a right back to is defensive minded first and if he can attack as well brilliant.

18 Jan 2019 22:31:04
The way Brendan is talking we won't be getting any quality signings. Loan after loan and signing guys like Hayes Mulumbu Hendry. I understand getting young players in and nurturing them but it's time to spend on a few quality experienced players. We got 7 million for Armstrong and 7 for the VVD sell on clause.

20 million for Dembele. Talk of 14 million for Ntcham. It cost around 9 million for the 4 of them.39 million is an outstanding peice of business that will earn the board and shareholders plenty along with bonuses.

This will be like the last window will be like the last and the summer - Underwhelming is an understatement!

Pud

1.) 19 Jan 2019 10:05:21
See to be honest I can see the the way the club are doing it, we have players like Boyata, Gamboa, lustig, Mulumbu, kouassi, Benkovic all on decent wages at the club plus more that aren’t playing. The numbers need to be cut down then it’s makes more sense to bring players in. With Boyata and Benkovic there until the summer it makes non sense to then pay 2-3million in a centre back until there are both away. I genuinely think we will recruit the quality needed to win the league. Use rangers for a example, they will have a huge wage bill considering there financial circumstances and they have around 10 centre midfield players. We don’t want to be in that position.

2.) 19 Jan 2019 10:53:43
We will hopefully get an experienced right back in and that should be enough for the remainder of the season. Re-build in the summer and unfortunatley risk crashing out of the CL qualifiers.

I also fully expect Ntcham to go on deadline day with no chance of getting another player in. 14mil for the rainy day fund, with no chance of Lawell ever seeing rain.

We are playing russian roulette now guys. If and its a big IF they win the league this year and somehow manage to qualify for the Champions league we will be humiliated. Every chance in the world to put them to the sword once and for all this window. They are paying massive amounts of money trying to stop our bid for 10. Massive amounts of money that will kill them again if we win the league this year. We should be ensuring there demise again. NOT letting them back in.

3.) 19 Jan 2019 11:09:17
Well said Craigwylie. Too many pantywetters on here these days.

4.) 19 Jan 2019 12:28:04
The club has been stock-piling players for too long with very few making the grade or showing any improvement or reliability.
Therefore, we just can't keep adding to a squad that is far too big and expensive to maintain, with little chance of profit or success.
De Vries, Gamboa, Hendry, Compper, Hayes, Eboue, Benyu, Izzaguire, Aitchison, Mulumbu and even Morgan have all failed to displace any of their counterparts for any length of time or establish themselves.

These players apart; Our current squad has cover for every position even allowing for injured and absent players like Griff, Arzani and Rogic. (Allen earmarked for Hibs) .
Gordon/ Bain Lustig/ Ralston Ajer/ Boyata Benkovic/ Simunovic KT/ Miller Forrest/ Johnston Brown/ Ntcham Bitton/ Cal-Mac Christie/ Burke Sinky/ Weah Edouarde/ Bayo

This is why we need to sell, sell, sell - before we buy and there are still nearly two weeks of the window to go.

5.) 19 Jan 2019 16:54:41
Maybe if we bought some first team ready quality, we wouldn’t need all the “potential “ that’s bulking the squad. It could actually save money too.

6.) 19 Jan 2019 17:19:55
I am a romantic and I love stories like 11 bhoys born within spitting distance of paradise lift the european cup or ten men win the league or the invincibles or double treble winners etc. We are living the dream. That said I agree totally that this is not "Wonderland" and hard facts dictate that we need to sell as we have too big a squad and it needs to be reduced above all moving on those who have little or no chance to play for us but of course there is a problem as some prefer to take the wages we give and not play than move on.
It's true we can't stockpile players but neither can we break our pay structure for marquee signings or indeed we risk everything . let's just win the leaggue etc the Celtic way and not be the eternal gamblers like Sevco who are putting all their trust in an old man to score lots of goals so as to overtake our goal difference advantage etc.

7.) 19 Jan 2019 20:39:55
Chasaboy quality costs money and quality don't want to play in Scotland, Cardiff City have just offered £18 million for a Nantes player yes Cardiff how can we compete with that and the wages he will be offered. oldkilly.

8.) 19 Jan 2019 20:50:11
Well said Donjim. I think it’s quite possible that the biggest issue we have is finding players who are willing to sign, who are good enough to make us better. Therefore we need to keep what we’ve got till we can bring them in and if we do, then we start offloading one or two. Alternatively, we may have several players developing who will break through in the next year or two, who look better than the level of player we can realistically attract. The strategy then would be to run down the squad players’ contracts and the development players take their place. I’m confident that BR and Pedro want to invest to improve but they’re not willing to invest in rubbish just to appease the pantywetters and the Scottish media. Ultimately, we will not allow the media, the fans or Sevco to dictate how we plan or how we budget to execute those plans and that’s why we will continue to succeed.

9.) 21 Jan 2019 14:09:31
VVD, Wanyama, Moussa all played here, so we can get them, but not for a ten bob postal order. That’s our problem. When Rogers stated we won’t even go to £4m I think we all knew feck all real quality was coming anywhere near us.

Another window where our gaping wound defence is not even addressed and we are back to square one in the summer. If anybody is trying to push the, we will sort it in the summer rubbish, please don’t. Have we not been here before? Or is it just a panty wetting conspiracy that we never fecking learn? I think the evidence is there that after three years and jack rubbish being done we need a change of strategy that includes spending some of the bonus pot on players.

17 Jan 2019 18:19:18
So there will be more player's coming in and going out. Who do you think will be going on loan and permanently? Alan is going in the Summer. Hopefully DDV, Henry, Commper, Benyu, Hayes, Morgan, Mulumbu, Izzy and Boyata this window or the next.

Pud

1.) 17 Jan 2019 18:32:29
I'd like to see Allan go in this window rather than kick his heels for another 6 months tbh. He's not been given any game time with Celtic and that won't change between now and the end of the season.

2.) 17 Jan 2019 22:12:18
You forgot Gamboa and Lusnig and possibly Brown and Griffiths.

3.) 17 Jan 2019 22:12:26
If mctominey comes in, is he not a similar player to Liam Henderson.

4.) 17 Jan 2019 22:59:10
Is he not defensive mid tam?

5.) 18 Jan 2019 04:34:19
Tamtam McTominay was playing in the Manchester United midfield under Jose Mourinho last season, Henderson couldn’t get a game with us.

6.) 18 Jan 2019 05:33:12
McTominay has the qualities and ability to be a box to box midfielder. No doubt about that. He wasn't asked to do it at Utd but did show glimpses in the way he tries to drive the ball forward. There's an attacking mentality in him, he used to play as a striker. A very tidy player. Another loan without a chance of a permanent signature wouldn't be too impressive at this stage though, especially not a centre mid.

7.) 18 Jan 2019 08:03:52
So if he comes in that's 4 players we're developing for other clubs and we've no chance if signing them . not for me doesn't seem right at least the people loans are past it.

8.) 18 Jan 2019 09:06:27
Lewis Morgan has not had enough of a chance to write him off as a dud, he could benefit from a loan spell to get game time, but he deserves to be given a decent chance .

9.) 18 Jan 2019 09:21:47
Solkjaer says he'll not be going on loan this window so it's more sh$te.

10.) 18 Jan 2019 09:23:06
He was mediocre in toiling Utd side, again bang average in Scotland games. Not any better than what we already have and don’t see the point in developing other teams players unless they are either of a higher level or in a position we actually need help in.

07 Dec 2018 20:35:59
Brendan saying "Boyatas signed a 5 year deal " when asked by 1 of the press. 😂😂He asksed him "Where have you seen the contract"? On Instagram. "Ahh on anti-social media"😂.

Pud

18 Oct 2018 19:26:18
Well it's been a laugh during the international break. (I'm not meaning the Scotland games 😂). From Brendan leaving for any managerial job that's currently available to Boyd's inside knowledge! Celtic in crisis, Dressing room split, Charlie's usual guff, Griffith's taking the huff, KT dropped. Then we have had The Semi final debacle, The ticket allocations, Venues, Aberdeen up in arms, Hearts up in arms, Celtic pissed off and a HAPPY The rangers (unheard off).

Pud

1.) 18 Oct 2018 21:17:26
Sevco happy because they're get yo g everything there own way due to spfl and sfa bias.

Ed do you think that there's any chance of Wanyama coming in on loan or wI'll spurs be looking to punt him? No doubt the financial outlay would be huge compared to our top earners. Also how many years has Edouard got left on his contract?

Pud

{Ed007's Note - Spurs will be looking to sell him on but permanent deals can be difficult in January so a if a loan route is open I do think we'll be interested.
Edouard's contract runs until 2022.}

1.) 17 Oct 2019 19:04:26
Think we should just buy him, instead of getting loan deal, if Brugge we’re willing pay 12 it will be half way fru season maybe 10 would be a fair deal? How long has he left on his contract at Spurs. He’s 28 if we get at least 4 good seasons out of him will be well worth the money. With brown getting a good age Wanyama could easy have the legs to play the brown roll when he retires.

2.) 17 Oct 2019 19:03:55
Cheers. Here's hoping. I was looking at the countries using VAR. Apart from the big pub leagues there's Turkey Poland Morocco Romania Portugal Australia Thailand Belgium Switzerland. Why do our authorities not want it? Is it to do with the cost of it or are they scared to use it and make the game fair! I think it would make our league even more corrupt😂You would need whoever monitors the VAR and then have somebody watching them then someone watching them etc. A 90 minute celtic trifc game would end up taking a few hours stopping play to watch Morelos es antics😂.

{Ed007's Note - I'm not a fan of VAR because it always still comes down to individual interpretation of the incident and it overrules one of the basic rules of football - that the ref's decision is final - but won't cost much to implement, all you need is a video monitor and a few extra cameras around the pitch. As things stand the VAR would be using the 2 camera system you see on Sportscene.
We will bring it in eventually but it'll be a couple of years yet at least I reckon with the officials needing to go through a year's training in using it and I've not heard of any plans for that.}

3.) 18 Oct 2019 07:27:55
I hope VAR never comes to Scotland. It does mean refs decision isn't final, but the worst thing is this not being able to celebrate a goal until a review has taken place, absolutely kills it.

4.) 18 Oct 2019 11:22:33
IrishBhoy we can't afford Wanyama. His wage alone will be out of our reach. Best we can hope for is a loan until the end of the season.

30 Sep 2019 14:43:06
The CSA open letter to Ian Maxwell regarding incompetent referees hits the nail on the head. Expect it to be sneered at and ignored as they are to busy looking into Tom Boyd!

Pud

{Ed007's Note - Really? I think it's embarrassing, not to mention cringey & pathetic and is more like something the moonhowlers from Ibrox put out when they drop points.
You can read it HERE.

1.) 30 Sep 2019 15:34:32
ED007 was just about to post something similar after reading that cringeworthy letter from CSA.
We all agree about the double standards of certain Scottish referees and which clubs get more favourable decisions in their favour, but this is NOT the way to highlight it, if any kind of statement was going to be made it should have been drafted by a solicitor using more tempered language, or hold fire until the right time to highlight these different standards.
Mr O'Rourke you embarrassed yourself and all decent Celtic fans.

{Ed007's Note - I never thought I'd say this but I agree with you 100%, Tim. I think I better go for a lie down now 😁

2.) 30 Sep 2019 18:27:27
Wow a clear moonhowler that wrote that, imagine writing that jeez 😂😂😂.

3.) 30 Sep 2019 19:00:46
Just read the letter to the SFA and it is embarrassing, Mr O’Rourke you were wrong about Don Robertson, he is from a big Celtic Supporting family. The said letter could have a negative outcome with referees saying f*** you lot questioning our integrity. Also John Fleming is quite ill at the moment and is not responsible for match appointments. The letter does the club no favours at all.

4.) 30 Sep 2019 19:53:26
Clancy was abysmal on Saturday. That letter though, it reads like it was written in his own rubbish from a quill fashioned out of his cat's shin bone.

{Ed007's Note - 😂😂😂😂😂

27 Sep 2019 01:52:19
Last night showed how good a squad we have assembled when you look at who didn't start the game Julien, Bitton, Brown Forrest, Christie, Edouard, M. Johnston, Shved, Taylor, Big Forster, Griffiths, Bauer, Jozo. A good crop of quality youngsters on the verge of getting some game time this season and who can develop into first team players over the next few seasons. Having lived thru season after season of winning nothing in the past. I just savour every minute of our utter dominance of Scottish Football setting record after record that won't be beaten.

Pud

22 Sep 2019 18:31:37
We are motoring along just nicely. That's 16 competitive games on all fronts played.13 wins 2 draws and 1 defeat. The next 5 are easily winnable against Partick Hibs Cluj Livingston and Ross County before the international break. Delighted for Lennon proving the neighsayers wrong and that he is the man to take us to 10 in a row and onwards! 🍀.

Pud

1.) 22 Sep 2019 19:05:58
Lennon isn't proving anyone wrong yet Pud, he's still tinkering with the team by playing players out of position. Christie is a CAM not a winger. We survived a scare today but if this tinkering carry on keeps happening then there will come a time where we won't survive that scare.
Get the game wrapped up and then make changes👍.

2.) 22 Sep 2019 19:17:00
I agree malkybhoy, Lennon is a bang average manager, my thoughts havnt changed, still was a cheap option for the board.

3.) 22 Sep 2019 20:46:27
Lazio probably thought Cluj was easily winnable aswell, we have improved since the game against them at Parkhead, maybe they have improved aswell.

4.) 22 Sep 2019 21:57:21
The Cluj game will be a chance for NL to pit his wits against the experienced and wily Petrescu for a third time this season and we are yet to beat them; so a win is vitally important and maybe conclusive.

5.) 22 Sep 2019 22:04:22
So who was your option for manager GreenGenie?

6.) 22 Sep 2019 23:55:48
Stevie Clarke,

7.) 23 Sep 2019 05:10:27
Malky can't hide the hate can he? . Best league start from a manager since the last time he done it himself . No doubt you're still running around with a semi for slug Rodgers

As for genie, bang average, cheap and then Clarke? . I'll leave that with you .

8.) 23 Sep 2019 06:37:36
Gie me strength tinkering yous wanted ntcham at no 10 he gave you that and accommodated Christie if he had left Christie out he'd have been slaughtered as Well malky jyst admit he's proved you wrong 😅😅.

9.) 23 Sep 2019 10:04:36
He should've brought Ntcham on for Christie at 3-1. I said on here previously that there is no hate towards Lennon just some of his decision making has to be questioned. I also posed the question on here just before Rodgers left that "would any Celtic fan go into a period of mourning if Rodgers left? I know I won't".
Clearly we members of the green tinted specs brigade on here who follow blindly and would happily accept mediocrity👍.

10.) 23 Sep 2019 10:17:14
Ntcham and Christie both started so not even Lennon could have done that. mediocrity haha good one 6 wins out of 6 scoring freely playing better football than we've done in a few years aye al have that if it's mediocrity oh and we now look capable away from home in Europe under saint Brendan we were all behind the couch.

11.) 23 Sep 2019 11:37:47
Malky you don't half talk rubbish. Your negativity is toxic, just enjoy the team playing well and winning. Mediocrity based on what?

12.) 23 Sep 2019 12:36:13
I never said what we are doing just now is mediocre, what I said was people would follow blindly even if that meant accepting mediocrity. Yes we are playing well but that doesn't mean we should accept players being played out of position when there is no need.

13.) 23 Sep 2019 13:15:47
No need in your opinion, Lennon does feel the need to do it and he's far more qualified to make those calls than say you. We won 3-1, played well, 6/ 6 happy days. Just enjoy it.

14.) 23 Sep 2019 13:52:59
Who was out of position wee James was on the left and had a great game Christie scored and played well your looking for faults that just aren't there.

21 Sep 2019 23:41:57
With French Eddie getting all the plaudits and on another level from Morales step forward the scrummy D R paper with a hatchet job on him. The majority of the Scottish media don't even try to hide their biased views. The pain and agony that we are and always will be far superior on every level consumes them.

Pud

1.) 22 Sep 2019 11:11:14
If we were all labelled for all our mistakes when young I reckon a lot of us would be in very different places, granted some of us are or have been due to this? Scumbag of a paper with leech journalists . Well done french Eddy for moving on and taking his opportunity provided. I hope he becomes what he could after getting us 9 and then 10 league titles and a good European adventure. He is the new skleper and they can't stand it. He definitely has taken aim and has them firmly in he is sites. 😂😂.

Enjoy him whilst he's here. When we eventually get 9in a row I hope Edouard is here for 10.I can see him being in next year's Olympic Games for France. If so he would not be available for the European Qualifies. Barring injury he's going to be a joy to watch him developing into a top top player.
