Ed do you think there's any truth in the Robert Gumny rumours?

{Ed007's Note - All I know is that there has been talks with Lech Poznan.}

1.) 25 Jan 2019 21:14:51
I wouldn't be paying 4.5 million for this guy like, is he any better than Ralston? I read somewhere that he is good going forward but a bit suspect defensively.

2.) 25 Jan 2019 22:18:47
Celtic shouldn't be paying £4.5M for a guy based on the fact that you, personally, don't know how good he is?

3.) 25 Jan 2019 22:56:27
Jesus moaning has been constant on this site about not spending then when there is talk of it we get
I wouldn't be paying 4.5 million for this guy like.

4.) 26 Jan 2019 01:57:30
4.5 million spending too much on gamble. Loan deal not spending enough moaning Minnie's would still find something to complain abouut after winning couple million on lottery. I have a friend just like this. its just their way. Not mine but wouldn't it be merda if we all thought the same way. Sevconians are the exception as most dont/ can't think for themselves,

5.) 26 Jan 2019 03:08:02
Ffs even when Celtic are going for a rb there is moaning spend money or not make your mind up the young lad isn't the answer just yet.

6.) 26 Jan 2019 14:11:27
I'm sure he's a good kid and looks like he can whip in a good ball. But he's not a starting 11 regular so £4.5m is a bit much. Can see us getting him for cheaper. Maybe offer them Gamboa and £2m 😋.

7.) 27 Jan 2019 10:25:29
We need a right back to is defensive minded first and if he can attack as well brilliant.

18 Jan 2019 22:31:04
The way Brendan is talking we won't be getting any quality signings. Loan after loan and signing guys like Hayes Mulumbu Hendry. I understand getting young players in and nurturing them but it's time to spend on a few quality experienced players. We got 7 million for Armstrong and 7 for the VVD sell on clause.

20 million for Dembele. Talk of 14 million for Ntcham. It cost around 9 million for the 4 of them.39 million is an outstanding peice of business that will earn the board and shareholders plenty along with bonuses.

This will be like the last window will be like the last and the summer - Underwhelming is an understatement!

1.) 19 Jan 2019 10:05:21
See to be honest I can see the the way the club are doing it, we have players like Boyata, Gamboa, lustig, Mulumbu, kouassi, Benkovic all on decent wages at the club plus more that aren’t playing. The numbers need to be cut down then it’s makes more sense to bring players in. With Boyata and Benkovic there until the summer it makes non sense to then pay 2-3million in a centre back until there are both away. I genuinely think we will recruit the quality needed to win the league. Use rangers for a example, they will have a huge wage bill considering there financial circumstances and they have around 10 centre midfield players. We don’t want to be in that position.

2.) 19 Jan 2019 10:53:43
We will hopefully get an experienced right back in and that should be enough for the remainder of the season. Re-build in the summer and unfortunatley risk crashing out of the CL qualifiers.

I also fully expect Ntcham to go on deadline day with no chance of getting another player in. 14mil for the rainy day fund, with no chance of Lawell ever seeing rain.

We are playing russian roulette now guys. If and its a big IF they win the league this year and somehow manage to qualify for the Champions league we will be humiliated. Every chance in the world to put them to the sword once and for all this window. They are paying massive amounts of money trying to stop our bid for 10. Massive amounts of money that will kill them again if we win the league this year. We should be ensuring there demise again. NOT letting them back in.

3.) 19 Jan 2019 11:09:17
Well said Craigwylie. Too many pantywetters on here these days.

4.) 19 Jan 2019 12:28:04
The club has been stock-piling players for too long with very few making the grade or showing any improvement or reliability.
Therefore, we just can't keep adding to a squad that is far too big and expensive to maintain, with little chance of profit or success.
De Vries, Gamboa, Hendry, Compper, Hayes, Eboue, Benyu, Izzaguire, Aitchison, Mulumbu and even Morgan have all failed to displace any of their counterparts for any length of time or establish themselves.

These players apart; Our current squad has cover for every position even allowing for injured and absent players like Griff, Arzani and Rogic. (Allen earmarked for Hibs) .
Gordon/ Bain Lustig/ Ralston Ajer/ Boyata Benkovic/ Simunovic KT/ Miller Forrest/ Johnston Brown/ Ntcham Bitton/ Cal-Mac Christie/ Burke Sinky/ Weah Edouarde/ Bayo

This is why we need to sell, sell, sell - before we buy and there are still nearly two weeks of the window to go.

5.) 19 Jan 2019 16:54:41
Maybe if we bought some first team ready quality, we wouldn’t need all the “potential “ that’s bulking the squad. It could actually save money too.

6.) 19 Jan 2019 17:19:55
I am a romantic and I love stories like 11 bhoys born within spitting distance of paradise lift the european cup or ten men win the league or the invincibles or double treble winners etc. We are living the dream. That said I agree totally that this is not "Wonderland" and hard facts dictate that we need to sell as we have too big a squad and it needs to be reduced above all moving on those who have little or no chance to play for us but of course there is a problem as some prefer to take the wages we give and not play than move on.
It's true we can't stockpile players but neither can we break our pay structure for marquee signings or indeed we risk everything . let's just win the leaggue etc the Celtic way and not be the eternal gamblers like Sevco who are putting all their trust in an old man to score lots of goals so as to overtake our goal difference advantage etc.

7.) 19 Jan 2019 20:39:55
Chasaboy quality costs money and quality don't want to play in Scotland, Cardiff City have just offered £18 million for a Nantes player yes Cardiff how can we compete with that and the wages he will be offered. oldkilly.

8.) 19 Jan 2019 20:50:11
Well said Donjim. I think it’s quite possible that the biggest issue we have is finding players who are willing to sign, who are good enough to make us better. Therefore we need to keep what we’ve got till we can bring them in and if we do, then we start offloading one or two. Alternatively, we may have several players developing who will break through in the next year or two, who look better than the level of player we can realistically attract. The strategy then would be to run down the squad players’ contracts and the development players take their place. I’m confident that BR and Pedro want to invest to improve but they’re not willing to invest in rubbish just to appease the pantywetters and the Scottish media. Ultimately, we will not allow the media, the fans or Sevco to dictate how we plan or how we budget to execute those plans and that’s why we will continue to succeed.

9.) 21 Jan 2019 14:09:31
VVD, Wanyama, Moussa all played here, so we can get them, but not for a ten bob postal order. That’s our problem. When Rogers stated we won’t even go to £4m I think we all knew feck all real quality was coming anywhere near us.

Another window where our gaping wound defence is not even addressed and we are back to square one in the summer. If anybody is trying to push the, we will sort it in the summer rubbish, please don’t. Have we not been here before? Or is it just a panty wetting conspiracy that we never fecking learn? I think the evidence is there that after three years and jack rubbish being done we need a change of strategy that includes spending some of the bonus pot on players.

17 Jan 2019 18:19:18
So there will be more player's coming in and going out. Who do you think will be going on loan and permanently? Alan is going in the Summer. Hopefully DDV, Henry, Commper, Benyu, Hayes, Morgan, Mulumbu, Izzy and Boyata this window or the next.

1.) 17 Jan 2019 18:32:29
I'd like to see Allan go in this window rather than kick his heels for another 6 months tbh. He's not been given any game time with Celtic and that won't change between now and the end of the season.

2.) 17 Jan 2019 22:12:18
You forgot Gamboa and Lusnig and possibly Brown and Griffiths.

3.) 17 Jan 2019 22:12:26
If mctominey comes in, is he not a similar player to Liam Henderson.

4.) 17 Jan 2019 22:59:10
Is he not defensive mid tam?

5.) 18 Jan 2019 04:34:19
Tamtam McTominay was playing in the Manchester United midfield under Jose Mourinho last season, Henderson couldn’t get a game with us.

6.) 18 Jan 2019 05:33:12
McTominay has the qualities and ability to be a box to box midfielder. No doubt about that. He wasn't asked to do it at Utd but did show glimpses in the way he tries to drive the ball forward. There's an attacking mentality in him, he used to play as a striker. A very tidy player. Another loan without a chance of a permanent signature wouldn't be too impressive at this stage though, especially not a centre mid.

7.) 18 Jan 2019 08:03:52
So if he comes in that's 4 players we're developing for other clubs and we've no chance if signing them . not for me doesn't seem right at least the people loans are past it.

8.) 18 Jan 2019 09:06:27
Lewis Morgan has not had enough of a chance to write him off as a dud, he could benefit from a loan spell to get game time, but he deserves to be given a decent chance .

9.) 18 Jan 2019 09:21:47
Solkjaer says he'll not be going on loan this window so it's more sh$te.

10.) 18 Jan 2019 09:23:06
He was mediocre in toiling Utd side, again bang average in Scotland games. Not any better than what we already have and don’t see the point in developing other teams players unless they are either of a higher level or in a position we actually need help in.

07 Dec 2018 20:35:59
Brendan saying "Boyatas signed a 5 year deal " when asked by 1 of the press. 😂😂He asksed him "Where have you seen the contract"? On Instagram. "Ahh on anti-social media"😂.

18 Oct 2018 19:26:18
Well it's been a laugh during the international break. (I'm not meaning the Scotland games 😂). From Brendan leaving for any managerial job that's currently available to Boyd's inside knowledge! Celtic in crisis, Dressing room split, Charlie's usual guff, Griffith's taking the huff, KT dropped. Then we have had The Semi final debacle, The ticket allocations, Venues, Aberdeen up in arms, Hearts up in arms, Celtic pissed off and a HAPPY The rangers (unheard off).

1.) 18 Oct 2018 21:17:26
Sevco happy because they're get yo g everything there own way due to spfl and sfa bias.

05 Dec 2019 17:09:32
Big Forsters save was a beauty and did you see him running the length of the pitch to join the celebrations of Browns goal? Hope we get him on a permanent contract this summer.

1.) 05 Dec 2019 18:02:18
I was just talking to my mates about player of the year so far, brown, christie, forrest or forster. Early doors for this I know but who would u go for the now.

2.) 05 Dec 2019 18:56:45
It’s so hard to pick forrest broony or Christie 😂😂 some head ache to have tho.

3.) 05 Dec 2019 22:32:19
I didn't see the game, were we unlucky,?, did we play fast imaginative, creative, entertaining football,?, or were we slow of thought and build up, were we lacking creativity and guile in midfield?, would 1-1 have been a fair result?, but Broony gets the winner and becomes the hero again, but if he hadn't been playing and a more mobile, more creative midfielder was in his place, the whole team might have been lifted and there wouldn't have been any need for an stoppage time winner, anyway, we will never know.

4.) 06 Dec 2019 18:53:08
Atm has to be Christie, but I think if Edouard stays fit he will get it. We need to sign Forster 100% he should Be our no1 transfer target for a permanent deal! A blind man could see he loves our club and I bet he regrets ever moving to the epl again. He is the Great Wall of Glasgow.

02 Dec 2019 15:09:13
I see that Lazio can still qualify so would we accept a defeat V Cluj or Play fringe players and see how they cope?

1.) 02 Dec 2019 15:42:35
I could care less if Lazio go through or not. Means nothing to us.
I'd play second string because we can rest the rest for the league games.

2.) 02 Dec 2019 16:10:10
It's a rare opportunity to give some fringe players/ youngsters a European game, whikst resting those who need one - which is what I would do. However the money men might just have a quiet word in NL's ear as a win is worth something like half a million I think.

3.) 02 Dec 2019 16:21:31
I would play a few fringe players and players with a point to prove. And give some players much needed rest. I wouldn't even take brown over there. We need to manage his games more.

4.) 02 Dec 2019 16:25:45
Frimpong o'connor simo taylor
Sinclair bitton christie morgan rogic

Would be my team.

5.) 02 Dec 2019 17:22:02
Brown is suspended anyway.

6.) 02 Dec 2019 17:32:07
Frimpong can't play and simi is out injured.

7.) 02 Dec 2019 18:54:39
Bauer. Bitton. Ajar. Taylor
Ntcham McGregor
Morgan. Rogic. Johnston

8.) 02 Dec 2019 20:33:21
Forgot about brown and simo. And didn't even think about johnston either. Would definitely play him. Keep momentum going.

9.) 02 Dec 2019 20:34:04
McGregor has played a lot of football as well. Feel he needs a rest.

10.) 02 Dec 2019 20:34:33
Why can't frimpong play?

{Ed007's Note - He wasn't registered in the EL squad.}

25 Nov 2019 19:56:50
Just heard a part of the North Curve getting closed on Thursday night. Refunds will be given. I take it they are taking this action due to flares and banners.

1.) 25 Nov 2019 20:12:08
Rows A to M are affected and will receive a refund.
I don't think the board would be taking action if Celtic needed a victory to qualify.

2.) 25 Nov 2019 20:30:59
Shocking decision 3 days before a game when days off travel hotels etc are sorted can’t see them refunding that.

3.) 25 Nov 2019 20:45:24
Is there an Agm this week? 🤔.

{Ed007's Note - And Rod Stewart 'concerts'.... 🤮

4.) 25 Nov 2019 20:58:27
Well they can't say they were not warned. Even after the last time people on here were defending it and laughing that it's only a small fine and no partial closing of stadium. No pyro no party eh?

{Ed007's Note - Well there'll be no party on Thursday that's for sure. It'll be a Thursday night library, all sitting attention seeking tweeting instead of watching the game and backing the team.
You do know you can get pyro into any stand 😉 do you think a couple in the South Stand would be interesting?
And I'm still laughing 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

5.) 25 Nov 2019 21:36:31
I personally couldn’t give a Daffy Duck either way . But I can’t for the life of me see the reason to use Pryo.

{Ed007's Note - Have you had a recent eye test? Pyro looks amazing!}

6.) 25 Nov 2019 21:58:44
Nothing wrong with the eyes Ed . When I go to watch Celtic the entertainment should be on the park . I find the pyro a bit childish tbh.

{Ed007's Note - Nobody's asking you to watch the pyro, get your phone out to take pictures of yourself and tweet bollox like a real fan.}

7.) 25 Nov 2019 22:02:43
No matter how good they look they are banned simple as that.

{Ed007's Note - So is being under the influence of alcohol at football..... smoking in the stadium etc etc.

8.) 25 Nov 2019 22:08:55
Yep lit objects in a crowded area. Seems smart.

{Ed007's Note - Folk smoking in the toilet and stairwells... #asthmacsc

9.) 25 Nov 2019 22:29:52
Politics at its best the club has to be seen to be doing something so chose a high profile non event I feel for the innocent victims who are now getting punished for the few guilty parties and as welshy says timing is horrific 3days before the game is a disgrace and just for the record I don't endorse pyros but think it could have been handled better.

10.) 25 Nov 2019 22:35:57
Didn't say that was right either.

{Ed007's Note - Well it happens a lot more than any pyro, illicit chants & banners, blocked stairwells, lateral movements and dodgy sub bibs - why not bitch about that?}

11.) 25 Nov 2019 23:14:39
Thing is just now we are not getting punished for the stairwells But we are getting punished for the pyro Even though Its great to see. I just can't understand why people deliberately get there club in to trouble I can't get my head around it. Set them off and they pay the fines themselves then fair play but they want other people to pay SO why do it? Just sad that innocent people have to lose their seats No matter where it is in the ground
And its going to spoil the game in part because the green brigade brings so much atmosphere And makes it more enjoyable And if it is from that section that is getting closed its sad.

12.) 25 Nov 2019 23:39:57
Skunnered 😕.

13.) 26 Nov 2019 09:23:43
Celtic are out of order here, so because they can't steward properly and find the individuals with the flares, they shut a section 3 days before a game. i've no problem with flares but there's going to be plenty of fans who have never brought one that can't go to the game.

14.) 26 Nov 2019 09:53:21
Because that's the topic of conversation. Pyro is dangerous and I feel it's going to take a tragedy for some people to realise that. If you want to watch fireworks buy some tour self and do it in your garden not in a big crowd where you are not only risking your self but everyone around you. Its selfish.

15.) 26 Nov 2019 09:58:18
It's fairly straightforward really, if we don't want ANY section of the ground closed, just follow the bloody rules.
I've been at numerous huge euro games over the years with the old place and the new, absolutely bouncing, and no pyrotechnics in sight then.
It's time people started to listen.

16.) 26 Nov 2019 10:22:14
It's the folk who have paid for travel arrangements hotels etc I feel for.3 days notice is pathetic. The club are happy to take in cash from merchandise such as posters, wall prints, canvas art t-shirts etc using the GB tifos and ideas. They do a lot of good for charity's foodbanks etc. I saw cold flares being used in Denmark online but don't know much about them. When you look around Europe at some of the games there's loads of displays that make our flares look like sparklers in comparison. Surely there can be an area for displays looked into by the clubs and UEFA going forward. Uefa even used 1 of the GB tifos and flare displays on social media promoting Europa league games!

17.) 26 Nov 2019 00:21:05
Ed pyro causes more damage than a half decker n a fag.

{Ed007's Note - There are around 10,000 smoking related deaths every year in Scotland and each year smoking is responsible for around 33,500 hospital admissions.
In Scotland there were 35,499 alcohol-related hospital stays in 2017/18 and there were 1,136 alcohol-specific deaths in 2018 where alcohol was the underlying cause of death, 23,494 Scottish residents had at least one admission to hospital with an alcohol-related condition.
46% of violent crime is alcohol-related.
In the past 10 years, 42% of those accused of murder were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the murder.
Two in five (41%) of prisoners report being drunk at the time of their offence.
60% of young of young offenders were drunk at the time of their offence.
In relation to all incidents of violent crime in 2017/18, victims reported having consumed alcohol immediately before the incident in 25% of cases.}

18.) 26 Nov 2019 11:50:57
How many of those lived in the Buckfast triangle.

19.) 26 Nov 2019 14:29:43
Aye the pyros tidy on the eye for the nano second it's lit then that's it just effin don't do it and support the club sing where a sit i the north stand there's plenty if singing and atmosphere without the bloody things.

20.) 26 Nov 2019 15:17:10
The gb bring a lot more to the club than “the negative headlines” but it’s these that are in the public eye. The community and charity work is phenomenal the work that goes into tifos again is something else. If you’ve ever been in standing or met with these lads you will see that their support for the club (not plc) is overwhelming. Go to the csa before a game and see the work there raising money for tifos etc The fans that see this get behind them. As ultra groups go they are a far cry from the casuals of the 80s or the European ultras of today their not going round tooled up causing bother they let off some pyro and make some great tifos and give their all for 90mins every game home and away. Agree with them or disagree with them fine but don’t slate them . The club have hung them out to dry here in a manor that suits the plc. There’s no way this would’ve happened if we needed to qualify. Same scenario as when section was closed last time it wa announced day after season books sales had closed. All about front but they won’t do it straight away they do it when it suits the agenda.

21.) 26 Nov 2019 16:06:50
Spot on welshy. A know your in the standing section mate, hope your seats safe. i've been argueing with a cop I know since this was announced, he's saying he's sick of them now (changes his stance almost monthly) he sits in the north stand upper around the half way line, he said he's witnessed the boy on the megaphone turning to the north stand and calling them c@nt$ for not joining in. I don't believe him for a minute, I know your at most games mate, your in a better place to comment here, that wouldn't happen would it.

22.) 26 Nov 2019 18:51:33
Fecks sake Ed. I was enjoying my drink and joints and then you post them stats. Awe well I'm not a statistic as of yet.

23 Nov 2019 14:39:13
I thought Taylor would be playing but Lennon seems to prefer his buddy Hayes.

{Ed007's Note - Hayes played really well over in Rome and then was MOTM against Motherwell so why should he get dropped for Taylor?}

1.) 23 Nov 2019 14:59:14
Just saying. 👍.

2.) 23 Nov 2019 17:02:31
How'd he play once on?

22 Nov 2019 20:56:08
I watched the celtic xmas vid and I never saw Rogic in it. He probably was injured by the xmas tree during filming! !

1.) 22 Nov 2019 22:34:33
Was it not rogic wearing the Édouard t-shirt?

2.) 23 Nov 2019 01:01:52
Hopefully he was wearing bubble wrap.

3.) 23 Nov 2019 07:15:27
That was Elyounoussi wearing the Eddy T-shirt.

I think it would be well out out wage structure but would love it to happen. Ed how much do you reckon Foster is on per week and how long has his current contract got to go? We could get some of the wage bill down with Gordon Sinclair and a few others leaving to free up some cash.

{Ed007's Note - Forster's on £70k - 90k a week depending on which reports you believe, Pud and has 2 years left on his deal come the summer. For me it'll come down to what Forster wants to do, Southampton want him off the wagebill and if they are relegated there's possibly clauses to reduce players wages which are common.
Things should become a lot clearer in the coming months but I wouldn't write off the chance of Forster being at Celtic next year, maybe even another loan will suit all parties. I would be amazed if he starts next season a Southampton player regardless of what league they're in.}

He committed about 10 fouls, dived all over the park and not even a yellow card was shown. I remember The Flying Pig used to save the day when we would dominate games and I know their pain and it makes it even sweeter lifting the Cup. A defeat on Thursday along with another few points dropped in the league will have them ready to turn on SG especially when we beat them on the 28th.
