Right, I have been following this site for a while and have occasionaly posted. I have decided to register and contribute more. This is in response to a post I seen on the darkside's page where someone was slagging NL for calling them the 2nd biggest team in Scotland. The guy stated that Rangers had the 4th biggest attendances last year and were the "most succesful" team in the world. I pointed out that only Manchester United and Aresenal had more people through the gates than Celtic this season making us the 3rd most supported team in the UK thus they, as in Newco Rangers, were only the second biggest team in Scotland. This I backed up with the easily obtained figures.

The reply "aye well we are the most succesful team in the world. "

No your team died and no longer exists. Sorry I know this is a pointless and long rant but honestly sometimes thier arrogance astounds me.

Tesla young players with talent and a future or a 36 year old on high wages and nearing retirement?

Chris, I do agree to a certain extent, but the fact is they want a third look at the player so perhaps they don't rate him at the asking price? Why should we just pay what we are asked? I would be happy to see GMS coming in now right enough!

The fact that its Brentford and Bournemouth that are waiting in the wings may tell you why we are unwilling to pay £300,000. Its a fair chunk of money for a player the manager is clearly not sure about.

Last season our one failing was a lack of quality in depth. This guy has far more quality and has played and performed to a higher standard than Paddy McCourt who for me did very little in his time at our club. McFadden is the type of player than can add flair, make a defence splitting pass and would be a great weapon to have on the bench. If Neil Lennon wants him and the deal is right then so be it. I will back him to the hilt as I would any other Celtic player.

Kev our wage bill is through the roof. 30m won’t last forever at 50 plus million a year on wages. No matter how much we invest the CL is being made harder and harder for teams like us to get in. We have a massive squad full of players on good wages who aren’t making the grade. Until some of those are shifted then it makes no sense to bring in more!

Release? These players are on contracts you can’t just release them.

The problem is established good quality players now cost more than we can pay both in a fee and wages. A good clear out is required to free up wages and I would hope that would clear the way for established quality to be offered the higher limits of our wage structure if they could be signed pre-contract or out of contract?
