Ed, do you know if there's anything Henri Lansbury rumours? Almost reminds me of the Ledley deal when we got him on a pre-contract when there was plenty of English interest!

Larsson7

{Ed007's Note - I've not heard anything about any official interest in Lansbury and he'll probably end up at Aston Villa. Why would we sign a player that's not any better than players we're trying to get rid of?}

1.) 05 Jan 2017 21:03:56
Cheers Ed, not seen any of the boy apart from twitter hype if I'm honest!

{Ed007's Note - From what I've seen of him I'd have McGregor in my team over him any day.}

Heard that Griffiths, Toure and Simunovic haven't travelled with the squad! Anyone have any info on this?

Another chance for O'Connell to come into the team, stake a real claim for first team football and then be dropped like a hot tattie when Toure is fit again.

{Ed007's Note - It's a bit of a bummer that we have lost 2 of our 3 main CBs AND young KT being out, I'm thinking that Rodgers will go with Lustig at CB partnering Sviatchenko and Gamboa in at RB.}

2.) 31 Oct 2016 17:23:34
Is it injuries to all 3?

{Ed007's Note - Griffiths is ill.}

3.) 31 Oct 2016 20:02:55
I'm concerned there may be more going on behind the scenes than meets the eye with Griffiths. Dembele's display against Aberdeen showed that despite the all talk recently he is not yet the finished article. Wouldn't be surprised if Leigh feels a bit hard done by.

4.) 31 Oct 2016 20:57:53
Mike

No point in dreaming up problems that aren't there. Of course he will be disappointed but Moussa took his chance and has pushed on in the last few months.

Griff will just have to bide his time until he gets his chance and force his way back in like Gordon, Simunovic, Armstrong and Forrest have done.

I think Griff could play in the 10 role behind Moussa but would you drop Rogic for him?

5.) 31 Oct 2016 21:32:54
From the articles I have read, Toure is injured, Simunovic is being rested as they don't want to play him in too many games because he is coming back from injury and Griffiths is unwell.

6.) 31 Oct 2016 23:36:30
I'm with Mike here

i think there has been 3 games or so (after 60 minutes) when Mdembele should have been subbed

he doesn't appear to hustle or challenge for high balls or draw free kicks and (from time to time) i think some of us (if we're honest) are sitting watching BR and waiting on him whistling for LG

Now I might be alone here

First, I like MD
Second, he is young, emerging and evolving

BUT

I don't think his performances (especially away from home) have been good enough to restrict LG to a matter of 10 to 15 minutes per game (just my view)

Im all for letting the boy develop and to put confidence in to him, but if I was LG watching (minute by minute) what MD gives us game in and game out, I would expected a little bit more playing time

tin hat on …because I Know my email will be construed negatively (it isn't intended to be)

7.) 01 Nov 2016 08:18:42
I agree paradise, that's exactly what I was getting at. No doubt there's potential there, but that should never guarantee you football.

Niall, I'd be reluctant to play Griffiths anywhere other than CF, however that's an interesting point. I wonder how many of Rogic's chances against Aberdeen would have been stuck away had LG been on the end of them.

8.) 01 Nov 2016 08:52:38
I have to admit that griffiths has been unlucky to be dropped but I personally don't think he could play the no 10 role. He doesn't get his head up enough to play killer passes for me in that role like a real no 10. When he got his start last week unfortunately he had one of his nights where it looked like he could play all night and not score, where he was trying so hard. I think Rodgers will give him games and he will need to be ready when called upon, it was only a couple of months ago he was jumping in the managers arms after scoring while dembele looked really out of sorts. I personally think as well he will have to grin and bear it at the minute because if he eventually looks for a move it won't be to a premier league team so it will be a step down. Also we all know dembele won't be here forever . He seems to love playing for us so hopefully the manager can keep him happy.

9.) 01 Nov 2016 13:48:47
Just thinking. what a great problem to have.

One striker who has 15 goals in 20 games keeping out a guy who scored 40 last season.

I agree Griff is being a bit hard done to but if neither can play elsewhere and it is only 1 then BR has to call it as he sees it. I would personally play both up top especially at home as they could run riot.

10.) 01 Nov 2016 17:03:35
End of the day it's Rogers choice and if he keeps winning then he's right.

11.) 01 Nov 2016 17:20:37
To manage Celtic must be one of the hardest jobs in the world . First of all people who haven't a notion doubt your word right away, they may as well call the manager -a liar. These same people who would struggle to manage an amateur team of knitters, criticise decisions manager makes and know more about his players and his capabilities from a distance . God help Brendan Rodgers if Celtic should happen to lose a couple of domestic games this season, these annual moaners, sorry experts will demand his sacking.

12.) 01 Nov 2016 17:21:40
I'm glad Dembele wasn't subbed in the semi final.

13.) 01 Nov 2016 22:19:34
It's not like you old bhoy to ruin a thread

What posts reflect moaning?
What posts suggest we know nest?
What posts suggest we are anything other than behind MD BR and LG?

You'll fine none zero and nowt

Thank the Lord you don't run a forum for opinions, where would that leave us?

You're a cheer leader

I'm a fan

I'm entitled to my opinion

Hail hail
Great result tonight

Thought MD lead the line really well
Thought big Erik was immense

Issues tonight with far too many unforced errors
They don't make many and we make tonnes

What this means is that as a team we don't know where the next key mistake is coming from which makes us unsure and uncertain

My cousin is a professional football manager who knows BR and CD and he says that they KNOW that the issues at CL level revolve around unforced errors IE poor decisions and odd ball passes that out fellow players in danger

They are trying to install confidence and improve composite and match intelligence. It's the silly little things that see Celtic in possession and then within seconds we have to endure a white knuckle ride as teams pour over us when you least expect it. Half the time the error isn't even forced. That's the key thing they are trying to resolve and they know it takes time.

14.) 01 Nov 2016 22:22:42
Gerry

No harm mate but LG was on the park when MD scored and so you've missed my point

I was delighted he was on the park to score what was a wonderful goal ( that was technically outstanding )

15.) 01 Nov 2016 22:59:44
Let's be honest Leigh started against Ross County and was not very good and you could see a bit of an attitude. Brendan showed him who is boss by not putting him on against the Sheep. Leigh will just have to bide his time and his chance will come again but he must take it when it does. Hail Hail.

16.) 02 Nov 2016 21:41:11
Perhaps. I guess LG might not think he has to prove it all over again to get the " benefit of the doubt ". With little playing time it's little wonder he was ring rusty.

17.) 23 Nov 2016 09:20:12
Old Bhoy, if Rogers is waiting on god to help, him I think that might be a long wait. I have to be honest and say the 10m weans who die each year from hunger related diseases that he doesn't seem to give one flying eff about should be on his to do list before Rogers on £5m a year and his team.

He might be fed up with sport after helping all those athletes win medals at the Olympics. He really loves sport, don't get me wrong but I think Rogers might just have to forgo supernatural intervention and get on with it.

PS. I am great with kittens.

Happy New Year all! Excited about the prospect of Eboue, hope he is a Kante type player who will bring us energy and interception from a holding position in midfield. Seems much more of a Rodgers type of player than Biton!

I know nothing about him L7 but watched a video clip and looked a bit of a drama queen which concerned me? He is still a young laddie though. It's the way to do it a mixture of grow your own ie. KT and buying the best potential young talent-get few years out them-accept we're an excellent shop window for the EPL-then move then on with sell on clauses to make a few bob ie. VVD and Wanyama 🍀.

2.) 05 Jan 2017 11:39:32
I agree JFP! Wanyama and VVD's success in the Prem will only make buying from us in the future more attractive. I know this isn't ideal but if we could make the most of the inflated market there's a pretty penny to be made and hopefully re-invested in the club!

3.) 05 Jan 2017 11:55:11
Agreed not ideal L7 but an excellent business model grounded in market reality. You have to hand it to Dermot Desmond and Peter Lawell et al. I think we have earned a reputation for developing and nurturing young talent and putting them in the shop window at the highest level ie. CL and that is very much Rogers bag as well. Hopefully some will stay long enough to become legends like your namesake! Starting with Dembelle! 🍀.

4.) 05 Jan 2017 14:16:03
First impressions of clip I saw was diouf. Hopefully not.

5.) 05 Jan 2017 14:46:55
Worryingly I'd agree TTTS 🍀.

6.) 05 Jan 2017 15:49:28
hes just a young boy he's still gaining experience, its good to see a player with a bit of fire in his belly, i have seen the footage myself and it just looked like a bit of handbags to me, to compare him with that lowlife scum diouf is a bit over the top especially when the boy hasn't even kicked a ball for us yet.

7.) 05 Jan 2017 16:09:46
I certainly hope not James, hoping for a Vieira, Keane type.

01 Nov 2016 22:12:10
A lot of positives but I'm still disappointed, the players could've took more of a chance in the last 15! Lustig gets my motm, great performance playing out of position.

Thought it would be hard to get a point to maybe we can get a draw to we have a chance to win.

We were wasteful and sloppy but on the road and not 100% it was a great result. Mostly frustrated cause we could have won it come the end, by pressing a bit more. We were playing to draw and not win the game when a man up.

31 Aug 2016 09:24:52
Just me that thinks Wilshere on loan could be a great bit of business? Obviously the deal would need to have a pay as he plays clause since the boy is chocolate but I think, if fit he could bring a lot to the team! First team, CL football and no conflicting loyalties unlike if he goes to another English club, surely the boy must fancy it?

Larsson7

1.) 31 Aug 2016 09:38:47
According to Sly Spurts he is staying in the EPL so Wenger can keep an eye on him.

First time poster but daily visitor of the site for the past year! Just wondered if anyone had heard the rumour about Musa Muhammed? Right back who plays in Turkey and shares an agent with Efe as far as I'm aware. Ed, you heard anything on this? Thanks in advance, hail hail!

Larsson7

{Ed007's Note - Welcome aboard mate. I've no idea if we're interested in Musa Muhammed and I don't think we're in the market for a RB any longer. He could he a possibility if certain players left. He was very highly rated a couple of years ago - that sounds terrible considering he's only 19 or 20 but he was being scouted by the likes of Barca, Chelsea and Liverpool when he was 17 so Rodgers will probably have known about him without Ambroses's agent being involved.}

1.) 06 Jul 2016 06:33:44
How long is Lustig out for Ed? The thought of Janko playing in all the qualifiers terrifies me. Just don't think the boy can defend.

{Ed007's Note - Lustig isn't out mate, he joined up with the squad yesterday for preseason.}

2.) 06 Jul 2016 10:44:42
Cheers Ed! Does this mean that Janko is viewed as a suitable RB for the season? I personally think he deserves a chance at it if he can stay fit.

{Ed007's Note - If Janko has changed his mind and wants to stay in Glasgow it looks like it'll be between him and Lustig for the RB slot but considering Lustig only has a year left on his deal and so far he has no intention of signing an extension so this window could be seen by all concerned as the ideal time for him to move on.
There was obvious concerns about the RB situation hence the approaches for Wisdom and Ola Aina.}

3.) 06 Jul 2016 12:45:10
Don't worry lads Daniel Fergus McGrain is still on the books at Celtic lol.
