The obvious effect of a manager announcing his imminent departure has been proven with many other clubs over the years and although it's not time for panic-stations just yet - there is no doubt, that this has got to be one of the most unsatisfactory and painful seasons for many a year.
Of course there was going to be a 'hangover' from the Sevco game, but Aberdeen gave us a wee lift and that's the second time in a few weeks that we have failed to beat Ross County at home after our rivals handed us the initiative.
The atmosphere and apathy all around the club is so negative that even winning the title, will be seen as a very hollow victory, as the task awaiting the new boss looks more and more daunting every week, with the huge assembly of mediocrity at our great club.
RD is a dead-man-walking and the majority of these players should be offloaded as well as they have not done enough to earn the respect and support of the fans who pinned their trust in them, week-in, week-out in the hope that they would play to their potential as often as possible and deliver.

Still raging and embarrassed after Sunday and it will take a while to get over losing to Championship side, Sevco for the first time.
The warning signs have been there all season, where far too many players [midfield especially] fail miserably to do their jobs.
The over-dependence on Griffiths and the perseverance with unfit or off-form guys like Brown, Johansen, Lustig, Bitton and Gordon for so long highlighted the lack of quality and experienced cover in the squad.
There is also a few that are clearly unhappy at the club and have been 'rested' for long spells.

Does it not highlight one of Ronnies biggest failings, his fear of giving younger or less experienced a chance and would rather play some who just happened to play well last year, sometimes it looked like you coldnt get a game unless your form had dipped.

Aindoh the pressure from fans like yourself does not allow for giving youngsters a chance. They have to be allowed to play without fear but that doesn't happen at Celtic one mistake and a youngsters hoops career can be over with those faithful supporters baying for blood.

Looks like RD will leave in the summer and although it does give the club more time to TRY and get the right man in the door, [don't hold your breath] it still leaves us in a difficult situation.
Often, when it is apparent the manager is going, it can be a distraction and be disruptive and although the players [most of which have got us into this mess] should be professional enough to finish the job, some of them know that they'll also be out the door.
The next game will show how they handle the situation and deal with the devastating cup exit.
The new manager should be identified asap and work behind the scenes in preparation for the new season and I only hope it is not Collins or another 'Yes Man'.
The board have typically missed a unique opportunity, these past four years, to utilise the superiority and advantages at their disposal to push Celtic forward, virtually unopposed and the list of inferior players and trophies 'given away' are a shameful legacy of complacency.
Of course five league titles in a row would not be failure, but when we look back, it is difficult not to reflect on our European decline, so many mediocre signings and so few vintage Celtic games.

Jungle Jim 2 it seemed to me there was a distinct lack of professionalism shown especially by our Senior players on Sunday . I hope we don't have to rely on this so called professionalism to win the last league matches .

I agree with all that Jungle Jim, especially what you said about Collins.
I'm tempted to say that a lot of the players don't seem to show much pride in wearing the Celtic jersey, so I don't imagine they'd feel too down about losing the semi final, I think it's the supporters who feel the real hurt.
Whoever comes in as the next manager I hope that whatever else he does he is able to motivate and get a response from the players in big matches.
The thing that hurt most on Sunday was that they looked as if they wanted it more than us, and for a Celtic player that is just not on. We can all talk endlessly about systems and tactics, but unless players have that deep down desire and hunger not to be beaten, then none of it matters a jot.
Next season I would like to see a group of players and a manager who absolutely hate to lose, of course we will lose games, but I never want to come away from an important match feeling we lost because our opponents had more desire than us.
That's the very least the manager and players owe the supporters.

That lack of fight and pure grit is what has let us down too many times in big games in recent seasons Gerry.
Even Brown has lost a lot of his positive aggression and drive, while Johansen is limited to committing daft fouls all over the pitch.
Others like Lustig, Bitton, GMS, Armstrong, McGregor and Rogic may have a good touch at times, but none of them fancy a battle or even a tackle if it comes to it.
We really are a soft touch and any team that is well organised, energetic and physical has given us more than a game - as was the case on Sunday.
The current squad is terribly unbalanced and lacking in key areas and at present only Tierney and Schiavchenko have a bit of dig.
I'm not saying we need to go out and buy a few 'cloggers', but we certainly need more players that appreciate that jersey.

It's funny. I was ( and have been ) saying that for a good while now. I was shot down repeatedly. It's now cool to hold this view. Time is a funny thing. The passage of time brings a fresh perspective. If we were on the curve as opposed to behind it, we could have staved off the threat of unprofessionalism and lack of hunger and general indifference but we got embroiled in name calling
Shame that.

We all remember how it felt losing Old Firm games with better managers/ players than we have now.
However, I reckon losing for the first time against lower Div Sevco has got to be an all time low for me and it's very hard to take.
This season has produced far too many poor performances, basic errors and out of form players and it's virtually impossible to name half a dozen games where the team played like champions and everyone reached the levels and consistency that is demanded at Celtic.
Far too often RD is not getting the best out of players and his hesitancy, nerves, fear and inexperience is manifesting itself on the pitch.
I had never heard of Warburton and took a dislike to him as soon as he opened his mouth, but today he organised a team of misfits into a unit that out thought, out fought and out played us for spells in a game that we were chasing all afternoon, sadly out of touch.
I don't think our manager will resign as he is too stubborn and thick to realise the mess we are in, but we need to let the board know how unhappy we are with the complacency policy of 2012 and get the right people in to sort this out right now.

Mr Lawel; you have tread water since 2012 - selling our best players and replacing them with bargain basement while employing economy managers to carry out domestic dominance in a so -called one horse league.
This has failed miserably as we have missed out on more trophies than we have won and apparently, Sevco, the team you have been waiting for so patiently have caught up?!
Mr Deila; the high pressing, quick tempo, slick passing game promised to us seems a million miles away from the garbage on show and your tactics, team selection, motivation and organisational skills would also seem to have an aspect of Emperors New Clothes.
Please do the decent thing as if this low point in a very mixed season is your legacy, I really fear for next season and beyond.
Mr Brown; you have been a driving force and inspiration on your day and your lack of goals, skill and passing ability has been more than compensated for, with your energy, enthusiasm and character. However, whether injuries[or other factors] have taken their toll? You have had - in comparison to last season - an annus horriblus and today you were chasing second division shadows and contributing zero.
The talk before was of a gulf in class and how we would take this mob if we were on our game?
Unfortunately, we have been so inconsistent and disappointing for so long, I can't remember us being 'on our game' for far too long.
Something [or someone] has got to change right now as if we go any further backwards we will stop.

No matter who the manager or what the starting line-up - it never pleases everyone. Good to see Gordon, Johansen, Bitton and Armstrong dropped and McGregor was obviously facing the axe, but I think Allen will get a run-out - as long as we put it to bed sharp.
If anything, I would have liked to see the young lad from Man City in the squad, just to have a wee look and it would have been an ideal introduction to the club.

The Ambrose - Boyata partnership worries me more than Commons absence. Hope GMS and Armstrong continue to improve and we get at them from the KO.

Hope Rogic is not out for too long as he has been coming onto a game recently, but we have plenty of options available these days - even without Commons, Cole and Brown - and I hope Christie and Allen get a run out at some stage.

JJ 1 got a new I Pad [as his H pad was apparently obsolete] and seemed to develop that horrible affliction - Loginus kannimyndit - brought on by either advanced years or alcohol induced brain cell bereavement - or a combination of both and had to become a 'sequel'.

I don't think he really wanted to be at Celtic and it really never worked out for him or the team - short term though it was.
The new manager will decide who stays next season, but I don't think his heart is here and he will probably go down as yet another waste- of-space signing that we will offload at a loss. like a few others.

You could add Rasmussen, Rogne, Blackman and Amido Balde to that and although one or two of them may have done a job, it does highlight the flaws in our scouting and recruitment 'policy' and the amount of money we have just thrown away for very little dividend.

There were too many players that played out their skins last season and were poor/ average most of this campaign and although thee manager carries the can for results, performances and consistency, I would really like to know [injuries aside] why the likes of Brown, Gordon, Johansen, Bitton and Lustig found it so difficult to find form?
Even GMS and Armstrong tapered off at the start of this season after seeming to find their feet at the tail end of last season, while Stokes, Izzaguire and Commons were among players that lost their place in the team altogether.
The failure to kick-on and improve was a real disappointment and the European results were a low point but the biggest stomach churner for me was our cup semi-final failures, in games we could have and should have won well.

The Rogic situation aside, It's obvious Commons is out the picture, so why put him on the bench every week when he's never going to play?
