Any truth in the rumours both MD and LG are missing or a doubt for tomorrow Ed? Or is it sevco wishful thinking? Cheers 🍀😱.

Jim Dhoc

{Ed007's Note - First I've heard of it mate.}

Thanks Ed. Saw something in a click bait site with evening times logo. Living down in England the rumour mill is a slow grinder! Thanks Ed and all the best for the new year.

{Ed007's Note - From what I heard today - from a totally unreliable source - it's McGregor starting in place of Rogic behind Dembele.
Have a great New Year when it comes, Jim and enjoy the game tomorrow, HH.}

2.) 30 Dec 2016 23:49:47
Load eh rubbish Jim, seen it myself and had Ciftci as only striker available 😂 It was a link that took you onto a sevco thing aimed at 🎣🎣🎣
I'd imagine Dembele starts and like Ed says Mcgregor in behind.
If we go 3 at the back Sinclair will play one in and not been great lately will coz big problems 😊.

3.) 31 Dec 2016 09:35:26
Mc Gregor always seems to look busy without having any real impact. If that makes sense! .

Celtic were in talks to sign former Bolton goalkeeper Andy Lonergan after his release by the English championship club due to wage restructuring last month. However, due to his desire to be the first choice keeper at his next club these talks had stalled.

Lonergan returns from holiday this week and is believed to have been in talks with Fulham although a deal is far from done. Celtics interest is not over yet and a deal could still be reached.

Although I don't normally speculate on the various in and outs at our club this is from a very reliable source.

Not sure how much credence I put in the following, but apparently UEFAs chief executive has agreed to meet representatives from Celtic to hold preliminary discussions on Celtics desire to leave the ailing Scottish football setup. This was on the sly spurts shorts on line. Personally I welcome the prospect but maybe not in my life time

Jim Dhoc

1.) I too read this on sly sports newspaper round up! The Scotsman a credited with this story! Willing to meet and discuss celtics want to leave the Scottish league. All this a day after lawells appointment to the European scene?

{Ed007's Note - Here's the link:

http://goo.gl/zgM8Lp

There's a few things of note in it, firstly the Daily Fail's picture of Fergus McCann is NOT Fergus McCann and if you read the actual quotes from Gianni Infantino he doesn't say what is being reported elsewhere. It looks like Infantino was caught off-guard and felt obliged to say something and he also seems a bit confused about the upcoming independence referendum.

I can't see where he says UEFA would be open to specific talks about anything, in fact Infantino has not said anything like what Sly were reporting. Until there is major changes to UEFAs statutes there is no chance of us moving to anywhere. Here's the parts with actual quotes where all he done was admit UEFA are 'open to discussing everything', that is just a general statement and something that everybody knows. The headline should have read: UEFA ADMIT THEY TALK ABOUT STUFF!

Speaking exclusively to Sportsmail at the conclusion of the ECA’s General Meeting, Infantino insisted that UEFA - while currently maintaining their opposition to cross-border leagues at the highest level - are prepared to talk about the possibility of Scotland’s major clubs playing in England in future.

"I don’t know what will happen and there are other discussions going on in Scotland at the moment about independence in any case,' said Infantino. 'One part of the country wants independence and another wants to join England."

"There is an experiment, a test, going on in the BeNe League in women’s football with Belgium and the Netherlands. This has gone on for a year and we will take a look into that after the second year.

There will be discussions going on with all stakeholders. Football is in constant development and we are open to discussing everything."

Despite admitting that UEFA are open to discussing radical changes, Infantino insisted nothing will happen in the short-term.

"I have only heard of this now and there has been no change in the position of UEFA,' he said. 'As matters stand today, this is not a possibility."

2.) Good chance its something to do with this super league they are talking about.

3.) We belong in Scotland in my opinion. I don't want us to leave for anywhere else.

Fran

4.) It would obvioulsly be great to move but if we did what would be the point in the champs league?

{Ed007's Note - I have no doubt that the CL will eventually be replaced by a European Super-League. A number of clubs take the opportunity once or twice a year to discuss various issues including changes in rules, television rights, the power of UEFA, exploitation issues for new technology streams, etc. These discussions also always turn to the possibility of a breakaway pan European league. Several were G14 clubs, several are not, and some clubs decline involvement in such discussions. (2) They would break away from their national leagues and UEFA. They accept that players would initially be banned from FIFA competitions as well, but know that FIFA would be looking to negotiate in any case. It would be the end of UEFA in all probability and UEFA are VERY aware of this. It would also result in a restructuring of many of the national leagues. (3) They would renegotiate their television rights, rights of distribution via other streams etc.. (4) It is the greatest fear of UEFA and all major national authorities are aware that one day it could happen.
As it stands the clubs in the breakaway league wouldn't be eligible to play in the CL, it's UEFA/FIFA's financial constraints they are planning to breaking away from.
If any major club falls foul of FFFP regs it will be interesting to see what, if any, punishment is handed down. The clubs know that without them the CL would become pointless and they are looking at the money that is made off the back of tournaments they participate in. That is money that clubs negotiating their own TV and sponsorship deals could be receiving.
Obviously the CFC board would welcome any invitation regarding moving to a more financially lucrative league but as of now there aren't any serious plans from anyone to form a breakaway league, although a European Super League is, in my view, inevitable in the future.}

5.) 06 Mar 2014 04:42:22
'As matters stand today, this is not a possibility."

End of discussion really. Just more sensationalism / lies / garbage to try and sell papers.

6.) Thanx ed! Thought this was the case hence the question mark after the lawell appointment. Poor journalism! Don't see any the smaller relegation teams giving their place up or their parachute payments from epl just to give Celtic a place! Our only hope is a super league tournament for more money . Independence would drive even more of a stumbling in my opinion! A total no go-er . Time we all faced facts and put this pipe dream to bed

7.) I wish we'd stop talking this nonsense, were stuck in our little league & that's the bottom line. No league is going to vote us into their league, as for a European League, none of the big Euro teams are going to leave there League with the obscene money generated by TV companies.

Evening bhoys and ghirls. I'm looking for some advice, a steer in the right direction.

Living in England means a season ticket hasn't been a realistic option since the kids came along, but me and my bhoy come to as many games as we can manage. However I have managed to book a little trip to moenchengladbach via Amsterdam and obviously would love to bag a ticket for two for the game.

The club policy is ST holders with travel plans, for obvious and understandable reasons.

Does anybody know if others have got round this for away Euro ties? I know there will be plenty of people in the same position but thought I'd d ask you knowledgeable lot.

Thanks for giving your thoughts/ advice. We will go anyway just to be part of it, and maybe strike lucky out there. I am also now a member of the BMG supporters club to see if there's another option! 🍀🍀 HH.

Talking of uneven handed policing. A story of the flip side of the coin.

A friend of mine is a polis down in a northern English town which had a rangers supporters club there . He has a very strong Celtic allegiance. Several years ago he was working on a Saturday morning and realised there was an orange walk planned that day. Knowing that most of 'ra peepul' would be drinking there and parking their vehicles on the double yellow lines there to go and March he headed on down to the club. He then dished out over 30 parking tickets and had 4 vehicles towed. The Bears were furious and reacted in a very aggressive manner. Back up arrived and a number of arrests followed.

Insult was added to injury when they saw his very Irish, very catholic name on the bottom of the tickets and charge forms!

A true story I promise and identity withheld to protect our brother with a true sense of decency! 😂😂🍀🍀🍀.

Evening bhoys and ghirls. I am in Dublin to celebrate my 10th wedding anniversary on weekend of 30th July. Imagine my surprise (and my missus! ) to find out we were playing Barcelona while we were there. 😜😱🍀.

Does anybody know whether tickets are available through the club to non season ticket holders? I hope you can help this old romantic out! Thanks.

Jim Dhoc

1.) 23 May 2016 00:03:16
I'm sure you can go through aviva stadium ticket office direct I'm nearly positive Jim dhoc , and congratulations hail hail.

2.) 23 May 2016 07:11:30
Tickets are on sale to General public at Celtic ticket office.

3.) 23 May 2016 09:00:42

5.) 23 May 2016 12:17:13
Cheers rglen. I seem rather more pleased with the 'coincidence' than my missus. A little diamond at the airport should sort that out. 😜🍀.

Just reading that Rodgers will be turning his back on a £10 million pound pay off from Liverpool should he take the role at Celtic. Obviously, he is not going to accept our 'meal piece' salary offering, preferring to wait for the first available EPL job in October and earn what he considers he is worth.

Once again, I fear the board are telling the masses what they want to hear without any intention of following it through. I hope I'm wrong.

My 50p is going on Malay Mackay, as the smoke and mirrors routine of the board is no longer a viable illusion. This is the reality of where we are operating.

Jim Dhoc

{Ed001's Note - he has already been turned down by teams in Qatar and the English Premier League over his wage demands. The question is whether he will lower them or not in order to take a job? I think, personally from what I know of him and what he has said to friends of his, that he is hoping the England job will be available and so wants to wait and see, rather than commit to a job, until after it becomes known if Roy will continue.}

1.) 18 May 2016 10:44:44
Board ain't feeding us anything.
They have just came out and said there is no preferred candidate

2.) 18 May 2016 10:45:53
I think that Celtic don't like people knowing their in house dealings and have people outside trying to build up the hopes of the Celtic fans on getting a really good manager in cause when it all comes out and they get some numpty in who is going to be a lap dog and do as they are told manager in the fans won't have been to disappointed when they announce him. Hearing big names will only build up the fans but when it happens the board will have their work cut out for them and the poor lap dog manager will no stand a chance.

3.) 18 May 2016 10:48:08
If we covered that loss . then his wages would take him into the wage bracket of a real top class manager. so why not go for a real top manager instead?

4.) 18 May 2016 11:23:18
If Leverpool paid £10million, just to get rid of Rodgers, what does that say about his managerial abilities.

5.) 18 May 2016 12:08:22
That's an extremely weak argument, even for you Aindoh.

{Ed007's Note - Rodgers wasn't on a rolling years deal so the £10 million covers the rest of his contract for the 4 (I think) years he had left on his contract. Chelsea were paying Mourinho £13m p.a. and he had 4 years left on his deal so Chelsea in effect 'owe' him £52m, again they'll make (probably already made) a deal, pay it up and let Mourinho move on with his career.
This really isn't significant and is just the MSM trying to put a negative spin on things.}

6.) 18 May 2016 12:34:36
Question pertaining to that ED:

If we do agree terms, does BR need to give up all that he's still owed -- or is it just the difference he gives up, with our deal covering x amount of it?

Kds are saying he rejected severance of 7m for the duration of his contract in order to sit out the full 10.

Not that it mAtters either way. As soon as i saw the money story last night I read it as negative bs. BR will either come, or he won't.

If nothing else, two three years ago we were talking of Keane And Coyle etc. Now it's Rodgers. With that sort of growth, I'd expect us to be discussing terms with Guardiola in 2/ 3 years!

{Ed007's Note - It depends on what was in his contract mate but I can't see Brendan Rodgers will happily sit out of football management until 2020 just so he can get his full whack from Liverpool. He'll have a long wait if he is hoping any club will cover that - it's between him and Liverpool. The board would have known weeks ago exactly what the financial situation was regarding Rodgers.
It's not a case of say Liverpool did offer him £7 million (I don't see that being true btw) and we need to make up £3m shortfall, if he accepted their offer he's free to take up any other job.
If CFC offer Rodgers the job then it's up to him to sort out the situation with Liverpool and decide whether to take the job or not.}

7.) 18 May 2016 13:07:36
Thanks ED!

{Ed007's Note - You're welcome bud. (yes)

Taxi for Deila, iffy ambush, boyata, mulgrew, ciftci, stokes, Collins, lawell,johansson, commons, and any others you can add. Feel free. In fact make it a coach. We are a team in free fall with no direction in management terms, going backwards faster than a getaway drivers Jaguar.

This performance is now the norm under the hapless, out of his depth Norwegian. He has not won a significant match during his time at Celtic. No desire, no plan B, no idea on who or how we should be playing.

I don't want anybody to tell me RDs hands are tied by the board. On a shoestring other managers are able to at least by players who try, players who care about the result, guys who pay for a fraction of the wage these imposters are earning at Celtic.
We are now at a crossroads in terms of our future. It should not be with this clown at the helm. Get rid now. I've never bought into this 'Emperors new clothes' attitude to Deilas tenure. There is nothing new, no great plan, no upturn in players fitness or ability. I am being proved right.

Do the honourable thing and go now. And take your clueless signings with you. Bye and thanks for absolutely sod all

Jim Dhoc

1.) 12 Sep 2015 14:54:32
Bang on Jim, anyone can see Deila is way out his depth , this crap about his hands being tied is a cover up for his managerial inadequancies, we should have more than enough in this squad to stroll the SPL

I'm not saying it isn't true, but this guy has been chased by the Villa fans all season. Accused of lacking bottle in their relegation battle, of hiding when things weren't going well. Technically Veretout is an okay player, but got the heart of a French poodle when in with the proverbial 'dogs of war' that next seasons Derby with the clone rangers will surely be. Not for me I'm afraid, A striker is more of a pressing issue.

I didn't say that Kevbhoy but now the draw is made you can't deny that the media will never portray us in a positive light ahead of them. I agree that a 'fixed' draw would have had us against the Dons.

I hate to play devils advocate and know we are under a new regime without clueless Ronny at the helm, but. this was the same talk before the cup semi in April and they will be using every underhand trick in the book to even the scores. The media will spin like never before to do us a disservice. Any win will do me, but we haven't played anything like as well since we spanked them. Let's do our talking on the rutted hampden surface.
