Everton and Man Utd agree a fee for schneiderlin (?)

Does this means James Mc is surplus to requirements?

Does the signing of the Ivory Coast lad mean we won't be interested in him?

Is James Mc a Brendan Rodgers target or was this all just speculation?

1.) 11 Jan 2017 01:51:37
This town ain't big enough for the both of um

2.) 11 Jan 2017 08:50:31
In the recent past you wouldn't think rglen, but that's where we've been brain-washed. Brown, McCarthy, Armstrong and Eboue as our CM options, tasty, and why the hell not? 👍

3.) 11 Jan 2017 11:18:09
First time poster always reading site tho I agree Jim y not have brown eboue mc carthy Armstrong competition for places can only b a good thing

4.) 11 Jan 2017 20:05:40
Welcome LB. Whilst having ose 4 CMs would be an improvement, imo, it really isn't unrealistic.

5.) 12 Jan 2017 01:57:31
that reminds me of that sparks song lol.

6.) 12 Jan 2017 07:39:16
Cleverly to Watford is the deal that sees Scheiderlin take his squad place

08 Dec 2016 22:02:40
Have you heard anything regarding Pat Roberts and the possibility of him signing for us?

If we made an offer and city were happy do you reckon he would want to stay?

Island celt

1.) 08 Dec 2016 22:06:04
Would love to see it happen, would not have dreamed of it being a possibility when he signed but if he did, I reckon it would be a massive coup.

2.) 08 Dec 2016 22:35:58
I would imagine Paddy has six months to make B R determined to want to buy him .
The same six months will probably have Manchester City deciding if they want to bring him into their squad, or loaned to another club or loaned again to Celtic or even sold.

3.) 08 Dec 2016 23:48:09
Likewise, think he could be a real quality player after a few seasons under Brendan Rodgers guidance.

4.) 09 Dec 2016 00:20:20
It's panto season so that means the start of the rumours for January. Lookin forward to what skinnybhoy has got info on but if am honest what a really want for Christmas is the return of hoops88.

5.) 09 Dec 2016 07:55:21
After the last window think skinny bhoys still under the bed.

6.) 09 Dec 2016 10:12:32
Sadly I can't see PR being with us for the start of next season whether we want him or not.

7.) 09 Dec 2016 17:35:45
Roberts will end up at some mid table English team sadly IMO. can't see us paying whatever city would be looking for I would imagine at least 8-10 million.

8.) 10 Dec 2016 09:31:51
Don't think there's any chance at all of paddy staying with us! He's said himself that he wants to go back down, and even if he did want to stay we wouldn't pay the fee Man City would be looking for! And IMO he ain't worth 10 million plus! Good wee player but not at that price! And to be fair he's hardly had a sniff this season! Sinclair and Forrest are BR first picks. so for me as much as I like him I just don't think there's any chance he'll be in the hoops next season!

9.) 10 Dec 2016 21:46:12
PR won't be bought off celtic for 10 million as city haven't even paid the full 12 million to fulham so that ruled out. Whether if both parties agree to stay at celtic then i'm not sure what value would be.

10.) 12 Dec 2016 15:01:07
the way he was talking on tuesday night i think the boy wants to return to city and try to make a go of it there, its a shame as i'm a big fan of the man.

11.) 12 Dec 2016 17:50:32
City paid six million up front apparently. the rest was for appearances, league, C. L. Winning caps and trophies. the usual stuff.

Finally ambition!

Welcome aboard Brenden.

Hail hail

Ps any chance you can lure Suarez as a back up to super Leigh?

Anybody read Mark Wilsons 'quote'?
Fans continually letting the club down?

Shame if this is straight from the horses mouth, always liked Wilson as a player, didn't see him as a guy to put down the fans.

Maybe it's taken out of context.

Island celt

1.) 10 Dec 2016 12:47:37
All our fans aren't angels Island celt. And are just as open to critisism as any other fanbase.

2.) 10 Dec 2016 14:43:41
I heard it on clyde ssb it's true what the guy says why oh why Do people keep taking fireworks into games, it just gets the club into bother and gives all the Sevco loving press the chance to point the finger and shake their heads at us.

3.) 10 Dec 2016 15:24:45
I agree 100%
Every support has morons, however morons are entitled to support the team as much as the next man.

I just think the 'continually letting the club down' quote was a load of crap.

4.) 10 Dec 2016 19:52:00
I thought the fireworks went off from the home sections of the crowd . I am not saying that means that it wasn't Celtic fans that let them off . However only Crawford Wilson from Belfast was sure . He must have Superb eyesight.

08 Dec 2016 22:00:28
With the progress of Armstrong, I am hoping our no.1 target is pat Roberts.

Is there any realistic chance of signing him?

Island celt

1.) 08 Dec 2016 22:35:34
Very little chance I would think. Man City paid £12mill. Not a lot for them but they will want to get as close to that back as possible. He won't fit into thr Man City set up so they will look to flog him. Not sure he will go for £12m but maybe £7 to £10m into a lower premier league team but won't be with us. Would you suggest paying £10mill for him? Good player but not for £10mill.

2.) 09 Dec 2016 00:08:22
It's been said on here many a time that he didn't actually cost man city £12m it was £5m up front am sure with the rest made up of add ons for epl appearances and call ups. So it would probably be more £5/ 6m if we were to follow it up. Worth that much surely?

3.) 09 Dec 2016 00:20:17
I doubt City will have even paid £10m Johnny. There were all sorts of add-ons etc. What I think City would want, I would pay.

My gut feeling though, from some of the noises the player has made, is that he might look elsewhere anyway. But that's obviously just my idiosyncratic hunch.

4.) 09 Dec 2016 00:41:15
Think city know that with the crazy prices down there, they can get much more than twelve million.

5.) 09 Dec 2016 08:38:17
Agree aindoh think we should just enjoy him while he is here. The fact alone he is young and English makes him £10 mill plus to any potential suitors. a lot worse English players have also gone for a lot more.

6.) 09 Dec 2016 10:07:28
the vast amounts down there in fees and wages makes me think that we haven't got a chance, unless he does a dembele, think he will end up at a west brom type club tbh,

7.) 10 Dec 2016 09:37:58
If it were a straight choice of PR or James MC who would you go for?
I'm guessing if JMC came in Armstrong would be a sub?

05 Dec 2016 11:37:46
Just watched a half hour set of highlights from yesterday's game. That was some amount of shots we had flying in. I was very impressed with some of the passing moves. Tam Rogic is quality, great to see him on for a 90 min shift. Fingers crossed for more.

Some cheeky tackles flying abou too, got to love the Scottish game! Well done bhoys.

Island celt

1.) 05 Dec 2016 12:50:21
Haha the Scottish game?, did you see aguero's tackle on David Luis? That was a man's tackle!

2.) 05 Dec 2016 14:15:26
That was not a tackle, that was an assault.
People have done time for less. lol.

3.) 05 Dec 2016 17:56:39
To be fair bhoys i think a lot of people would like to crunch Luis!

4.) 05 Dec 2016 18:05:09
He went in with all intentions of injuring Luis but mid air and mid tackle he decided against it, tried to pull away. think it could've been a lot worse.

04 Dec 2016 12:34:16
Didn't get the game, but that seemed like a rollercoaster.
Did Rogic look fit for the full 90?

Never good to lose goals, but to come back from behind shows great character in my opinion.

Was it a tactical switch at half time that changed the game?

If so credit to the manager.

I seen Mark McGhee was upset with our backroom staff? Was he justified?

Island celt

1.) 04 Dec 2016 13:08:47
Rogic did well the whole 90 do him the world of good never saw anything with mcghee during coverage but brendan saying today he moved our team when they were doing there warm up bit petty but think it was Chris Davies he had the hump with just a sore loser.

2.) 04 Dec 2016 14:05:24
BR saw early on that Izagurrie was in trouble and took him off, at half time he switched Toure and Simonovic over and pushed Macgregor into midfield. The upshot was the defence looked better and the midfield took control, The goals came from midfielders breaking into the box sure in the knowledge that they had cover behind.

3.) 04 Dec 2016 14:50:58
Jonace: Me thinks you are BR in disguise. lol.

4.) 04 Dec 2016 15:32:10
McGhee spat he dummy last season as well when he lost the match. He is just a sore loser.

5.) 04 Dec 2016 15:45:40
Many of us knew that Rogic could play 90 minutes if necessary. Many thought that Brendan was taking him off because it gave the manager opportunity to switch things round with minimum personnel changes .
Like Lustig before him, managers tend to not over play players who have been troubled with multiple injuries . These and Rogic's travelling for Internationals mean that although he can play 90 mins, he only does when necessary.

6.) 04 Dec 2016 21:51:56
I just cannot believe Gordon is getting stick! It's the first goals he has conceded domestically for ages and some of his saves recently - especially the one against Barcelona - have been brilliant. Bloody hell - did we win the game or am I dreaming?!

{Ed007's Note - No, we lost that game 2-0, we're talking about his performance yesterday. You're saying that he wasn't at fault for either of Motherwell's goals yesterday and because he does pull off some good saves we're not allowed to talk about his mistakes? How many times since he signed for Celtic has he been beaten at his near post?
Nobody's giving Gordon any stick, we're discussing his mistakes from yesterday and if you read it back he has been praised for his shot-stopping in the thread.
So if Gordon wasn't out of position for Motherwell's first goal what the hell was he actually doing just standing where he was?

27 Nov 2016 08:57:20
Enjoy the day bhoys

Anyone know if Sinclair is 'out for a month' as some reports states, or is there a chance?

My team if SS is unavailable would be:

Gordon
Lustig
Eric
Joao
Izzy (shame for KT, missing the final)
Brown
Armstrong
Roberts
Forest
Rigid
Moussa

I would want to see LG coming of the bench for a goal, as he has been top drawer for us, turned his career/ life around and has really turned into a great player for us.

The dons will be no mugs today, we need pass the ball with speed tonfrustrate them. I reckon they will come out the traps with aggression to try and stop us dominating the midfield.
Rogic (if starting) will be key

Hail hail.

Island celt

1.) 27 Nov 2016 12:08:47
'Rigid' LOL :D.

2.) 27 Nov 2016 12:38:20
If we put our chances away we will pump them.

All set for the match, got beers chilling, dinner all preped for after the match, wife and kds away for the day and just about to get the tunes on to get hyped up.

COYBIG.

3.) 27 Nov 2016 12:58:56
The loss of Sinclair, along with the absence of KT leaves us very weak down the left and Izzy needs to step up and avoid mistakes.
Dembele was isolated on Wed, but today the other forward players will have more time and space to link-up and create and we should keep the pace and pressing as sharp as possible to take the initiative.

4.) 27 Nov 2016 13:49:48
If I was as confident of the rest of the team putting in a shift as I am of Izzy i wouldn't have any worries .
Big deal Dembele was a bit isolated were playing one of the top three club teams in the world.

5.) 28 Nov 2016 13:37:31
They will look to exploit Izzy. He is the weak link. I like him though and hope he can return to his former self. A worry though.

Taking our chances has not happened lately I hope today is the day.

Big Mental test for the bhoy.
He is a stand out performer who loves a slide challenge, hopefully he comes back with the same confidence to take on a tackle.

Is this his first big injury?
All the best For the recovery KT.

I'm not saying it would be a better achievement, but as far as I'm concerned doing 10 in a row would be magic.

Rangers won a European trophy around the same time as we did (same year? ) and no one cares cause we did one better.
Right or wrong, dead or alive, cheating or not, Rangers won nine in a row, let's do ten and forget the pain of the 90's.

Charlie Nick said today that our titles don't merit anything without competition, but you can only play the teams in front of you. We (celtic) we're on our knees in the early 90's and no one seemed to care about 'competition'.

As I said 10 in a row will be one hell of a party for me.

Hail Hail

I think the point is - would it be a good move to sell moussa if the price is right?
For me if a bid of 30 to 40 million came in then the club should sell, on the provision that the cash is re invested (a big if)

Remember when bitton was going to be a £12 million man
Izzy and Kayal £10 million? What did / will we end up getting?

If the money from; CL revenue, the VVD sell on, increased revenue, normal transfer budget plus Moussa? That would be some war chest. (Roberts, McCarthy, new striker, GK? )

As a supporter I want him to stay, BR to continue to progress the team and hopefully do something special maybe Europa league final?
However if Moussa will wants to go at some point we won't be able to stop him so maybe accepting a massive bid is the smart move?

Either way it's a good problem to have - keep a top drawer striker or have a massive amount to transform a whole team.

Hail Hail

Steph
my mate used to slag big bad john off all the time when he struggled for early game time. I was always in his corner, therefore I've always had that over him!

Armstrong reminds me of Paul lambert (my personal favourite midfielder) crossed with Stan the man, not a bad combo.
