First of all I am disappointed that lenny has walked out in such short notice I thought he would have stayed a while longer,

Hearing rumours of a 4 man shortlist containing Henrik Larsson, David Moyes, Malky Mackay and Paul Lambert. Thoughts?

I would ideally like to see Henrik back but I think at this point in time we should opt for experience and go for Malky Mackay with Moyes 2nd choice.
I think Malky would be a good choice

Greenbhoy67

1.) Lambert has said before he wouldn't want to manage in glasgow so I can't see it.

2.) Pay no heed to rumours, well I hope so as maybe M Makay everyone else that rumoured definitely a no.

With the qualifiers starting early again for the cl, its more than likely there will be ins n outs regarding transfers.
Here are a few names being thrown about who I genuinely think will make us better and could actually have a real go if we get into the group stages again.
If you guys have any other realistic transfers then please feel free, what do youse think about these?

Andy Robertson? Had a sensational season with dundee utd and the lad is only going to get better, I would love to see him brought in as he would only push izzy all the way to perform week in week out, affordable and he would jump at the chance.

Im sure there's plenty of centre halfs out there we could go for and although efe has a good relationship with virgil he, s still too dodgy in my opinion, I would keep him as back up and bring another cb in. Ideas?

Robert Snodgrass? This is one I would really like us to go for, norwich will be in the championship nxt season and he only has a year left on his contract so its likely he will go. With him publicy stating to being a celtic fan I think we could get him at a reasonably good price, he would only make our attacking threat greater.

Raoul Loe? His name came up a few weeks ago but tbh I haven't really seen the guy play albeit I never seen wanyama play before he signed for us. He does tick all the boxes with his height and strength and this is an are we need to improve.

Alfred Ndiaye? Currently on loan at real betis from sunderland but has apparently been told he won't be at sunderland nxt season, with betis being relegated and the cl a possible lure I would love to see us go for him. Still young and much in the same mould to wanyama, he ticks all the boxes and could have a good resale value if we were to improve him.

Marc Janko? Some people may have mixed opinions but I would love the guy to be in the hoops. He, s still only 31 in june and yes we wouldn't get a resale value but he's on a bosman this summer and his experience would be vital to our forward line, 6ft 5 and an out n out goalgetter I would definetely take a chance, austrian international and I think we would only help the likes of balde improve.

Gary Hooper? Again like snodgrass he, s likely to be on the move but I have mixed feelings, he was quoted as saying he left celtic because he wanted to play for england but its been an absolute disaster for him and he, s just disappearing back down again, some will say he, s had his day but his record spoke for itself and I would like to see him back nxt season with another striker with him, janko?

These are just a few ideas but we stillhave to get rid of a few, I wouldn't think twice about letting the likes of kayal boerrigter pukki go, maybe mulgrew aswell but he's got the versatility which can be vital at times, i'd probably keep him.
Still don't think stokes n griffiths will cut it in the cl but if we got a half decent offer for one of them i'd take it n get quality strikers in.

Greenbhoy67

1.) I'd like to see Janko and Snodgrass join us but I'd keep pukki. I know people won't believe me but I honestly think there's something there. He's taken time to settle anywhere and I think next year he could be quality. Ever the optimist.

2.) I wouldn't want rid of any of Stokes Griffith and Pukki, I would still want us to sign two better strikers than these three but I think with the amount of games we hope to have before Christmas we need at least five strikers all of which we would regard as worthwhile .

3.) Snodgrass a defo yes, Hooper no, he had his chance and left. Would rather we spent the wages on the eds choice of hunt from germany

4.) @2) Why do you want to get rid of Griffiths? Don't you rate him as a player? Are his stats not impressive enough for you?
Or are you more concerned about his off-field stuff?

Hail Hail

Anyone think the lad alfred ndiaye who plays for betis on loan from sunderland could be a shout?
Very much the player in the mould of big vic whom I think we have missed dearly in the cl this season, alfred is a senagalese international, 6ft 2 strong and only 24 who plays defensive mid.
this boy ticks all the places and i'm hearing sunderland will be willing to sell him for 2m which is right in our range.
real betis likely to get relegated and I think the idea of cl football would be appealing to him, doubt very much celtic would go for him but

thoughts?

Greenbhoy67

1.) Wouldn't mind a player in the mould of Vic, almost like a centre half playing infront of the back four. His brother McDonald on a free from Inter? Or on the subject of Sunderland, Diakite has impressed on loan at Fiorentina. Bring him in and push Efe into midfield? Anything to get him out of central defence! I'd bring Derdyck Boyata in on a free too to replace Mouyokolo. See what he has to offer and again, maybe push Efe into CDM.

2.) There are some quality players available on a free this summer, a good few would make a massive difference to squad

Was just having a look at some videos from the last year or 2 and can't believe the team we had for the one we have now, albeit they had they had there own reasons etc I would still love it if hooper and ledley were here, we, ve missed hoops big style this season and just lost our best midfielder recently.
Just wondering if we can bring players in to match the success we had of 2012-13
in lennon we trust!

Was at the game yesterday and what a player johansen looks like he could turn out to be, still early bells and most of us would agree we would have to see a few more games of him before being completely satisfied. Exactly the playmaker we, ve been after but I still think we need a defensive mid who can break down attacks etc like wanyama did if we are to have a go at the cl nxt season.
I also hope that was a one off with stokesy yesterday as I lost count of how many he screwed, i'm not griffiths biggest fan but i'll give the boy a chance, still think we should be after a prolific 5m hitman though if we are to compete against the big teams.
Virgil and efe have played well but there's still question marks with efe in the cl, not saying he, s a bad player but I would just like to see another centre half to push him as virgil is our no1 defender no question about that! possibly another left back also to give izzy competition.

whats you're thoughts

Greenbhoy67

1.) I agree we need another defensive mid and left back. I reckon if Griffiths sorts his life out a bit and knuckles down he could be a decent player for us. Not sure he is cl material though but you never know.

I can see this happening, Virgil will get sold for around 10m, Forster will go for roughly 7 or 8m, (18m) and the board will give the new gaffer around 5m this summer, tight wods once again

If celtic sign Craig Gordon and Forster leaves then I'm gonny be really really worried, what sort of ambition is this!!, a 32 year old keeper with two dodgy knees and hasn't played in 3 years is just utterly pathetic. Fair enough if Forster does stay, I wouldn't mind him fighting it out with zaluska for number 2 but If he's our number 1 nxt season then it speaks volumes to whoevers sanctioning this deal, disgrace!

Well said kevbhoy I totally agree, as for bad bhoy I don't think you know what your saying mate, I respect your opinion but he was hardly crap in Europe if he was the top goalscorer in 2012/13, as for being top goalscorer in all 3 seasons. Look, the guy wanted to go and try and enhance his career but it didn't really work out, he scored goals for us and helped in big matches, so there's nothing wrong than testing yourself in a far more superior league. All it takes is one wonder season down South with a lower team and you would be wright up the pecking order calling for a call up, if for instance, the young lad Saido berahino who plays for west brom scored 25 goals next season, your trying to tell me wouldn't get a look in? Look at Michu with spain, he had a wonder season in his first at Swansea and he got called up so it just depends. I would definetely have hooper back instead of stokes or griffiths as none of them cut it for me

Well said Garry92, one stupid result doesn't reflect the guys reputation or potential. It's the exact same as the Morton game last season or the Ross county in Lennons first for few games or even when the mighty Barcelona were beaten by us! Upsets happen its part n parcel of the game! I really think the positives have to be looked upon, he, s 38 who is only going to get better and supposedly He likes to play attacking football and develop young players into gems. There's a bit of a ring to that as that's what we have been doing the last few years with signings? Johansen played with his team and from what I've saw he, a probably our best midfielder overall and that's sad saying it since he only came in January, he's always closing down and very attack minded, why not take a gamble? Instead of going for all the stupid British based under achievers, ie keane coyle etc

I was on yesterday saying how I would prefer us to go down the roots and go for lambert or jackie mac, if we went for another option though I would definetely take a gamble on this guy. Young ambitious and let's face it we have nothing to lose and won't really spend a lot in compensation, I do agree tho, nobody had heard of wim Jansen as the guy earlier posted, also just seen that his agent was seen leaving parkhead, the same agent of johansen, this was showing on tv btw in which it actually showed the guy so something must be going on. By guiding this stromsgotset team from 12th to champions does speak volumes and I think he's certainly worth a punt
