Looks like New Balance are going to be confirmed as our new kit supplier. Has anyone heard how much we are getting?

DazTheHoopy

1.) 07 Feb 2015 12:15:44
I heard it's the biggest deal yet not sure of the figures though

2.) 07 Feb 2015 18:31:01
Heard the same macro but can't see us getting the same figures as Liverpool will due to domestic leagues

3.) 08 Feb 2015 00:41:43
We sell a lot more tops than Liverpool I would imagine and unlike Liverpool we should be in the Champ Lge next season and every season, hopefully after that. Hail Hail

Any truth that Diarra is coming up for signing talks ed? Can't see it myself but it's starting to pop up all over the place.

DazTheHoopy

{Ed007's Note - It's popping up everywhere, Daz, but it's all coming from the same source, a whore-hitting website that pays youngsters to make up stories. Personally I'm not wearing it at all, I've asked Ed002 if she can find anything out for me but she says there's nobody willing to pay the kind of money him and his people are looking for.}

Ed you heard anything about Athony Ujah. 23 year ago cf from Nigeria who plays for fc koln?

Is there any more details about the javier Aquino deal. Heard that there will be a £3m clause to buy him included now.

Ed anything in the talk about Craig Gordon? Find it strange we are signing a player without a manager.

DazTheHoopy

{Ed007's Note - He had only supposedly been using the training facilities. The whole idea of CFC signing Gordon is as bizarre as it is stupid, we really seem to have found another level under the bottom of the barrel.}

1.) It does sound a bit strange. I would be happy to have him as a back up not first team though.

2.) I agree signing Gordon is daft. He doesn't solve a problem because if he breaks down, we still have to sign a keeper to cover for Gordon

3.) 05 Jun 2014 22:02:50
If craig Gordon can stay fit he is a better goalkeeper than zaluska who let's be fair is a good back up at best wouldn't trust him full time if big Fraser leaves after champions league qualifying as expected. Craig Gordon would be a steal for no fee as he is tried and tested at highest level internationally and in EPL. It's his fitness that will be an issue but if he had Bn training with celtic then they know what a good goal keeper he is and he must be fit if they are thinking if offering him a deal

4.) Crazy crap Ed, unless the decision has already been taken to sell Fraser Foster, then what manager would sign to have the rug pulled from underneath him before he even steps in the door.

I hope the new manager does well but he can only be as successful as the backing he gets from the board.

Not for the first time I am confused and a bit disappointed by the carry on of Celtic PLC

5.) Big Forster will get a move he deserves, Barca for him £8mill

6.) RD was informed first that Forster was leaving and a shortlist was drawn up on who he would like to replace him and RD picked Gordon

{Ed007's Note - I think we'll take this as a marker that silly season is officially upon us...}

7.) Barca have already signed Ter Stegen, Roddy. I think it will be Spurs for him.

8.) Ed don't know what the problem would be by signing Craig Gordon he may not have been a celtic supporter but if he can prove his fitness and regain his past form he could be an excellent signing.
You don't have to be a supporter to sign for celtic you just have to give your best for us look at the likes of Mcgrain and Dalglish

{Ed007's Note - Where did I mention anything about him not being a CFC supporter? He's nearly 32, has 2 glass knees and has hardly played a match in FOUR years, it doesn't really fill you with confidence does it? Does Deila even know who Gordon is and who sanctioned the deal? There's interference from someone and the new manager is hardly in the door.}

Not to sure on Anya, looks decent playing for Scotland but can't get a regular game for Watford. Just saw some clips of Jordan Botaka a 21yr old Dutch winger who play for Exselsior in Holland. The boys got a few tricks and pace to burn. Looks good on you tube but so did the Tampon and look how he's turned. Have you heard of any interest in anyone ed?

DazTheHoopy

{Ed007's Note - I'm still thinking Lars Christopher Vilsvik could be a target, his contract is up at the end of the month, he has played under RD so he knows what to expect and what is expected of him in RD's playing system.
I'm with you on Anya, Daz, a couple of decent games for Scotland and suddenly he's good enough to play for CFC, no thanks.}

1.) 19 Dec 2014 18:15:49
im not to keen on anya without ever really seeing him play. its just people say he can't get a game at watford and others are saying he's done great for scotland but sure mulgrew plays well for scotland so for me I hope we aren't after him. surely there is better out there

2.) I think the anya rumour is just the papers needing a story. My wish list to Santa is for a central defender and a full back as defence needs strengthening and of course guidetti would be a great stocking filler haha

3.) Ed do you think we need another right back or is the boy Lars versatile, or is someone leaving perhaps.

{Ed007's Note - I wouldn't be surprised to see one of Lustig or Matthews leaving either in January or in the summer.}

4.) 19 Dec 2014 23:53:25
Havnt seen that much of Anya, but if you go for Vilsvik you will get a player that can play both sides equally good, fast, good passer and good attacker. And of course he knows Deila's football and are very much suited to it.

{Ed007's Note - Cheers for that (y)

We all know ed that Mr Griffiths is not your favorite person in the world but his gesture to replace presents stolen from a house in Edinburgh I think shows he's more than a ned like most people think of him. Maybe bring part of the Celtic family is changing him a little plus the guy turns out to be a Hearts season ticket holder lol

DazTheHoopy

{Ed007's Note - The Krays gave money to old folk in need and loved their mum, Peter Tobin done free DIY jobs at numerous chapels and look at the charity work Jimmy Savile done, so what's your point?
As for your Celtic family nonsense, that makes me want to (puke) Most people I've met who use the 'Celtic family' term without being ironic is usually female or a moron, people who use it should be banned from Celtic Park for embarrassing the rest of the support.}

1.) Haha come on Ed I think that's slightly unfair. Griffiths has done a genuinely nice thing here and should be commended for it. It also reflects well on Celtic in a week where one of our players' racism appeal was thrown out and UEFA look to charge us for the behaviour of our fans.
Get some Christmas spirit down you!

{Ed007's Note - Pity he wasn't so keen to look after his own kids.}

2.) Everyone makes mistakes. Do you know if he look after his kids now? Like I said, its a genuinely good thing he's done here. Some people are perhaps too stubborn to see it though.

{Ed007's Note - Or some people perhaps don't look at everything with green tinted specs on. It's unbelievable some of the things some CFC fans seem to condone just because someone plays for the club.}

3.) Just thought it was a nice touch ed. People are really quick to jump down his throat after all the daft things he's done which there is plenty of but credit where credit is due. Don't think LG is in the same league as the 3 people you have mentioned. With that reaction you would think some had nicked your Crimbo lol.

{Ed007's Note - Is that your own opinion or did you check with the 'Celtic family' if that's ok to think it?}

4.) Well I'm not going to apologise for backing a Celtic player. Especially when he's made this fantastic gesture. Good on him, hopefully the club has been a good influence on him. After all, isn't charitable actions what it was founded on?

{Ed007's Note - Batter in, nobody asked you to apologise for anything anyway, and since the club's not having much influence on his playing career at least something good's coming out of him being here!
To be fair it's better seeing him do things like this on social media than telling people to go back to their own country. Has the 'Celtic family' discussed a statue of Griffiths being erected yet?}

5.) I'm a big boy with my own opinion ed lol. With this much Christmas spirit in you you'd be perfect for Scrooge in panto. The boys made a very good gesture that's all I'm saying.

{Ed007's Note - What's Christmas spirit got to do with anything? If Christmas spirit means pretending to like people you can't stand then I'll give it a swerve, that's just being two faced.}

6.) Ed 007 . It's nice to see you on the wind-up in this season of good will.

7.) I enjoyed following that wee thread and have to agree with Ed on this one.

8.) Well done to LG on scoring 2 goals in the under 21s match against Sunderland last night. Hope he gets a run in the first team but RD obviously prefers the one up front. Having said that, I'd rather have him than Stokes in the team.

9.) The development side are doing very well in that tournament . We are in a good position to qualify and the team is playing the same high pressing game as the first team . I hear our Captain Brown is travelling with this team and helping with the coaching .

10.) Here we go with this celtic family/minded pi$h again. Really boring. Regardless anyones views on LG I don't think he will give a rats about "celtic family" chat. LG is a diehard hibee, celtic is his employer. If I was playing for Manchester United I personally couldn't care less if I was "part of their family". All that matters to me is celtic

11.) Where is the Celtic family pish in this thread . This thread is about the development side fine performance yesterday against Sunderland's development .

{Ed007's Note - Read the thread from the top.}

12.) The Celtic family comment was made in one post. The whole point of the thread was about Leigh Griffiths superb gesture the other day. Ed has unsurprisingly not decided to see this but instead dragged up past misdemeanours.

{Ed007's Note - I'd say everyone who comes on here can read without needing a running commentary and smart arse remarks from doughballs like you. Unsurprisingly Ed doesn't like deadbeat dads, racists or bullying thugs playing for CFC, it's bad enough some of the absolute tossers in our support without having them as players as well. Don't judge everyone by your own gutter level standards.}

13.) You don't know me Ed and name calling just isn't necessary. Now we all get that you're not a fan of LG. Fine. But the guy did a good thing so instead of dragging up his past again why not just say nothing. I've been reading this site for years and don't appreciate being insulted on what is a good page for discussion. If I've taken your comments the wrong way then I'll take it as the banter intended.

{Ed007's Note - You can take it any way you want to, I couldn't care less.}

14.) Chris02 probably best you take time to read thread before you comment. Seems to be a habit of yours at times.

Henrikstounge ever heard the saying 2 wrongs don't make a right? No matter what LG does I for one will no forget disgrace he has brought upon club with his prior actions. Ah that's right! He has get out of jail free card. "celtic family" pmsl

15.) No matter what LG does, he will always be a wee ned who after 2 pints thinks he's Jean Claude Van Damme and can take on the world. We are fast approaching festive season and I wouldn't be surprised to hear any stories involving the thug

16.) It wasn't me who mentioned the 'celtic family' DN30. Maybe you should take your own advice and read the thread before commenting.
2 wrongs don't make a right, but in this case he has done right not wrong so don't really understand what you're talking about

17.) Who said you mentioned it Henrik? It is in the opening post of thread by Daz. Again probably a good idea to read thread before commenting.

The wrongs are $hit he done previously, so no matter what he does he will always be a disgrace.

18.) The way you structured your comment suggested that.
Your comment made no sense but as he's a celtic player I'm going to back him in this case. He's made this great gesture and had a pretty good week for celtic.
As for your comment saying he will always be a disgrace, well I'm saddened. He may well have turned a corner here but with 'supporters' like yourself he can do no right. I assume u didn't cheer his goal this afternoon

19.) As I've said Henrik, not once did I suggest you said that. Structure was straight forward and evidently clear it was related to initial statement.

Supporters like me? The supporters who are expected to dig deep for football merchandise, tickets for games and expected to take up promotions to raise funds? Aye your right! Supporters like me don't want to see their hard earned cash used to fund neds like LG wages and fuel his many nights of bringing shame on the club. How many times is that he has been in trouble since he arrived that we know of? Be interesting to hear your views after next fiasco.

Having know watched the game twice I think we might have finally took a step in the right direction. Think I might be right I saying that's the first time we have played with RD preferred 4-3-3. When I say that I mean with 3cm rather than 2cm with commons and in doing so it's the first time all season we have looked solid and comfortable keeping the ball. To many time this season I think we have been outnumbered in there. I for one am a commons fan but he's not the most willing of workers going back the way and can leave us short in there and that was a major difference with Johanson going box to box. Also putting the ball in the net yesterday helped lol. Off the top of my head between Motherwell and Accies we had easy 20 chances and only 1 goal which was a pen. So hopeful or season started yesterday

DazTheHoopy

1.) I am hoping we string a good few performances and results together and maybe be more ruthless for 90 minutes. I know the game was well over after 58 minutes and we were better than we have been for weeks; but I watched the Southampton game and Koeman did not settle for 5 or six and pushed his players for the full game against an opponent in disarray - like Ross County yesterday and they walloped in eight goals.
This would fill the team with confidence and return the fear factor to all our opponents.

2.) I just worry, that for the midweek game, RD will change the majority of the team and play a completely different system, because that's what he has been doing sofar, but I live in hope that we
will see the same team and system on thursday.

{Ed007's Note - I'm not expecting any drastic changes in midweek Aindoh, He's trying to find a system that'll work at home and Europe so that we don't need drastic changes when it comes to EL/CL teams. No other team I know changed so much when it came to Europe, that's why teams like Basel, Maribor, Legia, BATE etc etc are hard to beat, they are a well organised unit who just play their natural system with some slight alterations. Whether it's something simple like playing 2 yards further back or Izzy and the LM/LW targeting their RB the system basically stays the same. We were asking players to play a certain way every week except 12 games (incl. qualifiers) a season, could you do your job as well if you had to do it a completely different way every so often?
It's like the old lying on your arm until it goes numb trick.... you know what I mean.. (muscle)

3.) Well I agree with you, Ed but its RD that's been doing the changing.

{Ed007's Note - He's got to give everyone a chance to see who can do what or even if they are any use to him. I'm hoping the team becomes more settled over the next few games, players have had their chance to show their worth on and off the park. You can see the improvement already in some players, look at Izzy this season, Denayer is 19, he'll be out there following RD's instructions to the letter and looks amazing, City are so impressed with the way Denayer is doing he will spend nextvyear here as well if things on and off the park continue as they are. Man City aren't lending one of their top prospects if EVERYTHING isn't to their satisfaction, they wantvto know every detail of what Denayer will be and won't be doing, they don't want their youngsters sitting playing video games ajd eating pizza efery afternoon. Fair play Stokes is Stokes but you can't say he isn't working harder dyring games and Biton and Kayal have looked better than what we were expecting. Scott Brown has taken it to a whole new level even I didn't think he had, he really seems to have bought into the new ideas and is finally growing into that captain's jersey to be held up as an example to young players. Believe it or not but Brown is one of my favourute CFC players in the last 10-15 years, I put him in the same category as Allan Stubbs, anyways I digress...
I have no doubt that Adam Matthews will get his fitness problems sorted under RD which will certainly aid him and he'll kick on his career, if James Forrest follows RDs advice he could get his career back on track, no stone will be left unturned to improve our players, surely the guy deserves time to work it all out. He's the manager of the best football club in the world, the fans should be backing him to see where it takes us, who cares if Commons has to cut out the junk food? He's a professional athlete in the twilight of his career, he should be embracing it to prolong his career. Look where Rio Ferdinand and Frank Lampard are, then look where John Hartson was in his early 30s, where do you see Commons in 2/3 years if he doesn't knuckle down?
Beckham wasn't the most gifted player but look at his career, any player can be as fit as a Beckham or Ronaldo, all that takes is hard work and commitment. Would James Forrest be a better player if he was as fit as Ronaldo? Appart from the niggly injuries what's stoppung him? Maybe a bad example but you get the gist of it I hope.}

4.) I actually thought we played 4-4-1-1 & it looked strong! Stokes looks a bit leaner and agree where Brown was thought to have had a major prob with JC he is trying harder than anyone else

5.) Jungle jim I'm sure if we did not have an important match on Thursday we would have kept going for the ninety minutes.by half time the game was won, so why burn yourself out when there is no need to, just my opinion.killy?

6.) Agree with Brown he is one of my favorite players in recent times reads the game well and is at his peak. Can anyone remember everyone on here was slating him a few Yeats ago saying he's rubbish and we should sell him to Newcastle? What a mistake that would've been

{Ed007's Note - I always stuck up for Brown, he is the heartbeat of our team and has been for a few years.}

7.) It's not too long ago since Brown got heaps of abuse from Celtic supporters . I think that since his first year with Celtic he has been one of our best players .

01 Sep 2014 12:17:35
Jelle Vosson supposed to be going to M'boro on loan. 1m up front and 4m at the end of the season. Surely we could have done something there. Worryingly quiet as we speak.

DazTheHoopy

1.) Is that for a permanent transfer at end of season?

2.) PL should see the bigger picture here Daz not only is he good just think of the jerseys he would sell if he got the number 7 and said he would now like to be known as JELLY! ATVB

3.) They'll pay 4m to keep him at the end of the season but they think that will happen if they go up.

06 Aug 2014 23:34:41
The way I see it is that we're back to where we where 4 yrs ago. A manager with no euro experience and battered by average teams, a squad that needs major improvement and the need to sell our best players to try and move us forward again. 4 yrs ago it was McGeady and Boruc now it's foster and vvd. In NLs first 2 seasons we gradually got better then rangers went tits up and we have nosed dived. If and when these players go RD has to be given time and money to move us in his direction. For me though the buck stops with PL. Him saying " we aim to come out ever transfer window stronger" is now up with Murrys "for every 5er I'll spend a 10er"
