According to press reports Cardiff may bid for Stokes, Pukki wants a permanent move to Brondby and we already know Bolton may come in for Commons.
I think Celtic have had the best out of Stokes and Commons and Pukki never really got going, so if we can raise a few quid to add to our transfer budget I would let all 3 go. Other players I would sell are Mulgrew and Ambrose.
Hopefully we could tie up Guidetti on a long term deal and bring in a decent centre half. Two decent signings like this I think would please most Celtic fans.

BigJockRemembered

1.) Pukki can go. Stokes has played the WF role pretty well but there's better to be had. He's just SPFL standard IMO so PROVIDING the right guy is brought in to fill that position he can go too. The problem is the likes of Wakaso and Tonev especially may not be here for too long. Perhaps worth keeping Stokes until the summer.

Heard a rumour that Manchester City may recall Guidetti in January if Aguero's injury is more serious, does anyone know how likely this would be to happen, I thought Celtic had paid a loan fee for the whole season for guidetti.

BigJockRemembered

1.) Not rising to the bait on this one. Internet trolling at its best

2.) Surely if they were going 2 recall anyone they would recall negredo from valenica not guidetti haha

3.) 10 Dec 2014 18:28:50
Dn30 this was a genuine rumour I heard but your quote "not rising to the bait" you just did by replying yourself.

4.) We have him on loan for a year. I don't think they can snap there fingers and recall him if they have an injury. Would make loan signings a bit pointless I would have thought. Might be wrong though. Markie

I see Celtic fans are being warned about going to Turkey, as well as the terrorist threat Turkish fans have a large element of hooligans who carry knives, and just like the disgusting Ajax fans randomly attack visiting fans.
Why does UEFA not clamp down on these clubs even banning them from europe and maybe then the message will get across. Also Ajax from what I can gather do little to root out these thugs again fine the club or withold payments until they clean up their act. Also I do not know if Celtic have asked Ajax to pay for all the damage their fans caused.

I'm sure we will all be so much safer now that our great minded politicians have decided to bomb the crap out of Syria.

2.) 03 Dec 2015 15:21:02
Don't know why anyone would go to turkey now anyway.

{Ed007's Note - I don't know why any football fan would want to go there anyway, I've been dreading a tie like this for years and I'm just glad I'm past the travelling all over Europe following us stage. If anyone on here is making the trip please follow all the advice you're being given and stay safe, this could turn out worse than Vigo and Amsterdam '13 combined.}

3.) 03 Dec 2015 20:14:16
The Norwegians and Dutch seemed to travel there without much reported trouble so hopefully this passes without incident as well.

{Ed007's Note - Apart from the political situation being a bit more stable earlier in the season if there were any travelling Molde supporters the number would be very small and they would have been part of the club's official travelling party airport - hotel/bar - stadium and then back the same way. Not many Dutch fans travelled to Istanbul, cowards rarely travel when they're scared, and the Turkish police don't mess about, it did kick off when Fenerbahce went to Amsterdam in the return leg though as the Turks fought running battles with the Dutch police and local supporters.}

It seems on here if you try and make a point about poor defending or some poor displays by players you are classed as a "Delia hater" or "blame the players not the manager" Most Celtic fans want Delia to succeed but he picks the players, he sees who is poor, he is the man in charge so he has options, work in training with Ambrose to eradicate his mistakes (although I doubt he has the 50 years needed to do this) work with Forest to improve his crossing, work with the rest of the team on cutting out all the careless passing and putting the team in danger.
If players are unwilling or unable to take this on board then drop them and give the kids a run out.

BigJockRemembered

1.) For me its the naive ones who think defence is good cause of last seasons clean sheets and that Deila is to blame. What these people crucially forget is that defence was sloppy last season and Forster saved our bacon far too many times. This season we have in goals a keeper who had not played for over 2 seasons due to serious injury, who is an average keeper and not as good as forster, meaning he is not as effective as correcting mistakes.

2.) To be fair I think ambrose's game has improved a lot since he's been back at cb he doesn't take as much risk and clear's the ball a lot more as he should I don't think he was at fault at the goal yesterday I like big ambrose if people would get off his back he probably wouldn't make as much mistakes he has a lot of pace and that is a huge asset for a cb and is still relatively young and will improve but you saw yesterday after the goal fan's groaning and he was getting nervous I say give the guy a break I saw plenty other player's making mistakes yesterday and they ain't getting singled out on here brown van dyke forrest all made shocking passes straight to a utd player in fact one of those shocking passes led to the goal that ambrose is getting the blame for but nobody's mentioning that part just some fan's have the blinker's on imo and go straight for the usual scape goat's.

3.) 22 Dec 2014 16:28:02
Big D I have defended Ambrose before but for a CB to make as many mistakes per game as he does is not acceptable at this level. He probably does get over analysed by people on this site and other similar but I doubt very much what people post on here is affecting his confidence. The emphasis seems to be attack and high press both styles don't favour defending. Any quality of defender would be exposed as part of that setup. I think they need to try and find the fine line that exists between attacking and defending. They can be a little gung ho at times but from what I read that's what everyone wants to see? To defend as a solid unit and shut out everything but won 1-0 or draw 1-1 or scrape a 2-1 win is what people come on here and whine and moan about. Like I said its a fine line but it can sometimes take a bayern Munich to find the solution.

4.) Pedro I meant people moaning and groaning in the stadium will be affecting his confidence don't think big effe would come on here if he did he wouldn't be able to leave his bed the stuff people on here post about him :) I just don't think he gets a fair crack o the whip

5.) Makes you wonder though if this clean sheet record one or two people are obsessed about, was thanks to Forster being in goals.

Im not critiscing Gordon, he's just not as good a player as Forster. Point i'm making is the defence is virtually the same as last season, were we all blinkered because of Forsters clean sheets to realise how sloppy and leaky defence really is? We all know Ambrose is a bombscare, but he seems to have got worse this season.or is it the fact Forster made him look not as bad?

6.) I would a thought it was the managers job to improve players DN but I may be wrong.

Don't know how valid this is but my mate says Guidetti has started like a train at every club he has been at then falls away, would be interesting to see if any stats back this up. So maybe Celtic should be wary in case we spend big money on another striking dud.

BigJockRemembered

1.) Well he hasn't even started like a train at every club. Just Feyenoord and Celtic. Its hardly big money either. I've got an awful feeling he won't sign on anyway.

2.) Jim the guy is average,no big issue if he does not stay. Personally I hope he goes. Too slow and not strong enough to lead the line.

3.) Good SPFL player, better than what we have at the moment. It's if he can do it in europe is the real question. Has hit a dry spell at moment scoring, but not the first striker this has happened to.

I'm Just not convinced there will be queue of clubs chasing him in january though

4.) Hey tailed off at Feyenoord as that's when his virus started that kept him out for so long. Agree although I rate him better than Stokes we do need a powerful pacey striker to lead the line if we're only playing one up front that Kayode the young Nigerian we were linked with looks like he would do a good job

Watching Ambrose trying to defend is painful, sorry but the guy is a donkey, cannot defend, cannot pass a waste of a jumper, he does not learn or appear to want to learn from his mistakes, why not play one of the kids Celtic would get a better more honest performance than the ones this clown Ambrose gives.
Also when was the last time Forrest put in a good cross?
Guidetti seems to have lost something recently and is way off the pace.

AMBROSE!! what more does this guy have to do to be put out the team! I've honestly never witnessed a worse celtic player in my time supportin the hoops! If delia doesn't get another centre half in January I don't think I can watch! It's that bad! Shockin!! And I know they've both been injured but Forrest and in particular Matthews have both been woeful!! Plus points are biton and defo johanssen! Both stepped up there game! Also think wee griffiths is due a run in the team! The boys a natural goalscorer!

Can anyone explain how these year loan deals work?
Read that Ben Arfa and another English premier player (the name escapes me) also on year long loan deals are being sent back to their parent clubs, yet apparently, listening to paul Lambert about Tonev he said "he is Celtic's problem they must keep him for the year" how can English clubs end loan deals early when Celtic cannot?

BigJockRemembered

{Ed001's Note - deals between different federations are done differently from loans within the same federation. Tonev is an international transfer.}

1.) Is that an actual quote!?! Talk about being diplomatic.

2.) Yo would think that there would be something in the agreement that let's Celtic cancel the loan if he breaks the rules.
I don't know if Tonev is guilty or not, but the fact he has been found guilty, surely gives us the right to sack him, it is a serious enough offence.
If Celtic did sack him, he would still be employed by Aston Villa, so he would become their problem.

3.) It would be seen as if Celtic were accepting that he broke the rules.if we forced Villa to take him back . We all know the SFA have a bias against Celtic and Celtic players, I hope Celtic don't punish their own players on the word of an Abedeen player .

4.) I would agree with you Chris if he was our player, but I don't know if we should have our name dragged through the mud for a loan player, who will probably be off at the end of the season anyway.
I don't think it is a fair system to just take one man's word against the other, but Celtic signed up to the system, so they have got to look after their reputation.

5.) Gerryc there would be very many people who would think that Celtic would best protect their reputation by standing by Tonev . We shouldn't be getting up on our high horses just because the SFA have tried to make an example of him .

6.) Don't understand that argument, Chris, why should Celtic stand by him, just because he's playing for Celtic, fair enough if people at the club have known him a long time and trust him, and know what he's realy like, but if they're doing it just because he's on loan to Celtic, then I think that's wrong, if he is a racsist, he'll probably get caught out again, if he's not then someone will have to teach him what words are not acceptable, but it should'nt be Celtics problem.

7.) Aindoh I take it by your arguments then Tonev is not a racist . You say if he is he would be found out again .
I understand he has a completely clean record. The fact that he hasn't been " found -out " as you put it before and has been a professional footballer for years would by your standards put him in the clear .

If you read behind the headlines (slanted as usual against Celtic) Ronnie says he will have more time on training pitch with players rather than lots of midweek games, let us hope he can improve team come qualifiers as well as bring in one or two quality players.

The guy on the Sevco "we don't do walking away" and the er "lady" above are pure comedy gold, but the sad part is both must have thought how clever they were and were deadly serious in making these videos, while Billy No Well KNOWS he is taking the urine.
As everyone knows the gap between Celtic and Sevco is massive by the same token Mr No Well is Champions League while these characters are Junior league at best.
