Got to admit was a bit concerned going into that one today but as usual we turn up when it matters most. Convincing 3-0 could of easily been 6. Win the cup on Dec 2nd and that's the last 9 major trophies dished out in Scotland all been adorned with green ribbons πŸ˜‚.

1.) 29 Oct 2018 11:04:35
I expected a comfortable win by at least two goals. And wrote so beforehand.

We rag doll the first domestic competition after a euro loss.

I can't believe todays decision for LC semi finals. This is a recipe for disaster, Sevie v sheep game KO 12pm game goes to extra time and pens, game finishes 2.45pm, pubs round Hampden and city centre full of Sevie, Wigan, Chelsea πŸ˜‚ and sheep fans by 3.30. Hertz and Celtic fans start arriving late afternoon for pre match refreshments πŸ’£.

Jozo's ban extended for extra game, unbelievable never even thought it was a red.

1.) 28 Jul 2018 08:49:17
Is that bassa dallas still snooping around.

2.) 28 Jul 2018 14:20:00
It was a lazy, stupid mistimed challange. I don't believe he was even thinking when he went in for it. Raised the boot out of instinct and got it wrong. We done them with 10 men. With an extra man on the park we will bury them.

3.) 29 Jul 2018 01:16:22
That was in the last tie mate.

16 Jan 2018 18:52:28
Has Erik been sold or is it a loan back to his previous club?

...Stevie

{Ed007's Note - It's a loan and so far there's been no agreement on making it permanent although all parties would like to see that happen in the summer.}

1.) 16 Jan 2018 19:20:51
Cheers Ed.

{Ed007's Note - No probs.}

2.) 16 Jan 2018 21:35:49
I heard that there has been two Chelsea youngsters Celtic interested in Mosonda is one and Is a midfielder and word on who the other is ED?

{Ed007's Note - Lewis Baker.}

3.) 16 Jan 2018 22:00:08
Any truth in it ED?

{Ed007's Note - I don't know mate, I just read something about us being linked with him. He's currently at Middlesbrough on loan but I read he hasn't kicked a ball for them since September. He's meant to be a cracking player but if he isn't getting game time for Middlesbrough that sets alarm bells ringing for me.}

4.) 16 Jan 2018 22:36:37
I agree there ED why would we want someone who can't get a game when on Loan. Do we expect any movement this in or out this week?

{Ed007's Note - It's difficult to put timescales on anything, Rich.There will be movement both ways before the window closes.}

5.) 16 Jan 2018 22:49:22
Any news on who may fill Erik’s boots Ed? The only CB I’ve really seen us linked with consistently is Hendry and if that’s the case I don’t think BR will have his wish of being stronger after the window than we were before it. Perhaps a deal for Caulker could be on the cards?

{Ed007's Note - I'd say Ajer and probably more Compper have already taken Sviatchenko's spot.}

6.) 16 Jan 2018 23:43:56
Cheers ED.

Celtic Statement - We note today's decision by the Supreme Court. Celtic's position on this issue has been consistent - that this has always been a matter for the courts of law and also the Scottish football authorities, whose rules are intended to uphold sporting integrity.

In 2013, we expressed surprise - shared by many observers and supporters of the game - over the findings of the SPL Commission that no competitive or sporting advantage had resulted. Today's decision only re-affirms that view.

We are sure now that the footballing authorities in Scotland will wish to review this matter. Celtic awaits the outcome of their review.

1.) 05 Jul 2017 16:03:47
Hopefully every football club and fan in Scotland demands punishment to fit the crime of these cheats. Every Trophy won in that time taken from them. Expect the Government to act also. Regan and Doncaster can clear their desks!

2.) 05 Jul 2017 18:56:04
Regan and doncaster will be popping the diacam in handfulls they must act.

3.) 05 Jul 2017 18:59:26
Sfa already released a statement stating no further action to be taken against the old club it's in the hands of the spfl now. But surely when the cheating happened it was under sfa power so they should be dealing with it.

4.) 05 Jul 2017 20:49:33
SPL SFA SPFL will all be trying to offload it on each other with none of them wanting to be the ones to do it knowing of the angry backlash by the peepel I don't care who does it, to be honest just as long as it gets done if none of the Scottish governing bodies will do it can it be taken to UEFA or CAS?

5.) 05 Jul 2017 20:57:29
I reckon they should give them an option title stripping or demotion back to div 2.

6.) 06 Jul 2017 00:24:05
after the court ruling today and hmrc looking to go after others. what clubs do u think they will be looking at? I take it they will all be in the epl.

7.) 06 Jul 2017 00:26:25
It is inevitable that the 5 league titles won between 2001 and 2010 will be stripped. Juve got 2 titles stripped for match fixing, and the huns punishment will be identical. The authorities also stripped Lance Armstrong and Ben Johnson of their titles also for cheating, and gaining a sporting advantage by doping. I am going to throwa party when they are stuck on 'Going for 50' for time immemorial.

Did anyone read Murray's statement? That guy has a brass neck dropping Craig Whyte's name into it as a deflection.

8.) 06 Jul 2017 11:43:42
theres no way anything will happen to sevco, it will be swept under the masonic carpet as usual.

9.) 06 Jul 2017 20:28:57
If this is brushed under the carpet i will never attend another SPL game in my life. Celtic need to lead from the front with this. I don't want their trophies i want the ones they won by cheating removed from the history books. Just saw on Newsnow a link to the Daily Record phone ins, zombies telling Celtic fans to leave it and that they had already paid fines and were demoted.

Still they believe they were demoted. The only people on this planet who don't understand the meaning of liquidation, poor little Rangers always the victims. Had we died and cheated do you think they would just leave it. No chance.

Really hope all of Scottish football does something about this they can't be allowed to get away with it. There is enough people in the know on the good side of the fence to make sure this is dealt with correctly and they are punished for crimes.

10.) 08 Jul 2017 19:06:52
Stan, who cares? Don't give a toss what happens at Rangers. It about Celtic and how we keep on beating them and the rest. Who cares. Tainted titles makes no odds to is. Be more concerned about the SFA, Regan and Doncaster. Donkeys both of them.

After I stopped laughing at the Tribute Acts latest fiasco, it got me thinking how many sendings off have there been this season in games involving them? It must be about 75% of their games. Any statos out there got the answer πŸ˜‚.

...Stevie

1.) 09 Dec 2018 20:27:13
8reds. I'm away to find a pen to tot up the yellows.

2.) 09 Dec 2018 20:30:00
66. Wee buffalo has 12 n McGregor has seen them over the line by earning 3.

3.) 09 Dec 2018 20:32:55
For the sake of comparison. We have 4reds and 33yellows.

4.) 09 Dec 2018 22:18:05
Is that opposition bookings and reds or both?

5.) 09 Dec 2018 22:34:40
That's the rangers kicking other folks bookings and ordering offs. I'm bored not obsessed btπŸ™Œ.

6.) 09 Dec 2018 23:32:25
5 players in 16 games have been sent off against Rangers this season in the league.

7.) 10 Dec 2018 01:56:53
Stevie on your post, i get impression they deliberately foul to hold up play. Cheating again! lmao.

8.) 10 Dec 2018 12:29:26
Should be a lot more reds! And Gerrard says they aren't a dirty team but have double the amount of cards. That's with lenient refereeing for them and harsh for us too!

05 Dec 2018 21:46:59
How we managed to throw that away i"ll never know f***** raging. This 7 changes pish. Just put a team out there to get the job done then make the changes. Hayes and Gamboa nowhere good enough to be in the squad never mind the team. Griffiths awful tonight and Brown too many sideways passes.

...Stevie

1.) 05 Dec 2018 22:12:57
Stevie unfortunately for me l don't like saying it but Brown seems to slow down the pace we play at. The sideway pass is all to common for him these days. McGregor was unreal in the role over the last few weeks. Have to say as much as l like Scotty lm not sure another player would have gotten back in the team the way the mid field was playing. Saying that we should still have beaten this lot.

{Ed007's Note - There's no need for Brown to drop deep and collect the ball from our CB's they have enough about their game to start moving the ball forward - especially Benkovic and Ajer when he's in there and even Boyata's improved - if the CB's bring the ball out it would move the whole team up the park.
It's like one of the commentators said about Christie, earlier in the season (and in these type of games) our forwards were dropping deep to collect the ball with their back to goal whereas Christie is looking to run forward into space and give the defence and midfield options. There's no point giving the ball to LG 25 yards out with his back to goal.
The quality and consistency of our AM players is a serious cause for concern for me, I was saying it months ago when people were going on about the defence and long term it's needing as much attention as the defence does.}

2.) 05 Dec 2018 22:47:50
We need a penalty box striker and a creative midfielder ( number 10) .

3.) 05 Dec 2018 23:24:33
Touchwood Ed we'll have Powell in a few weeks that'll freshen up the CAM to ST options.

{Ed007's Note - I think it'll be the summer before Powell moves anywhere.}

Looking at the odds for Thursday's EL games, Salzburg 27/ 10 to win Leipzig 20/ 23 πŸ€” I can already smell Shiite here. Am I right in thinking a 1-0 or 2-1 win for Leipzig puts Salzburg through?

...Stevie

1.) 24 Nov 2018 00:24:22
No. Salzburg don't go through if leipzig win. Salzburg would be playing a dangerous game to lie down to leipzig because if we beat rosenberg then beat salzburg 2 nil then they go out on head to head.
All ifs and buts, but still think leipzig will get nothing in austria.

2.) 24 Nov 2018 00:51:45
Unbelievable odds for a Salzburg home win nearly 3/ 1. Interesting to know what the bookies thinking is making Leipzig clear favourites to win the match. Timalloy explain please 😁.

3.) 24 Nov 2018 08:13:12
We are 7/ 10 favourites to beat rosenborg away!

4.) 24 Nov 2018 10:40:27
Guys I put my bets on Friday, almost a week in advance.
I have taken Salsburg win 21/ 20, 1-0 Salsburg 4/ 1, draw 5/ 2
ANY of these results sees Salsburg top section with only Celtic game to come we would have to beat Salsburg 3-0 or 4-1 to better their head to head, assuming we beat Rosenburg.
Leipzig WILL NOT get beat on Thursday, UEFA will have Red (Bull) faces on Friday.

5.) 24 Nov 2018 11:03:24
Leipzig are by far the better teamπŸ‘.

6.) 24 Nov 2018 11:23:14
I disagree Malkybhoy, I think there is not much between Salzburg and Leipzig in a playing sense.
I think Leipzig pay better wages of course.
And if we play to our best level I don't think we are too far off either of them.

7.) 24 Nov 2018 11:42:12
DOH I meant Leipzig.

11 Nov 2018 18:08:27
Where's Magicpole and Johnymac? Never heard from them for weeks, they usually appear after a couple of dropped points πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

...Stevie

09 Nov 2018 08:22:15
Fully expecting RB Leipzig to beat RB Salzburg 1-0 on matchday 5, this result would mean even if we beat Rosenborg we would then have to beat Salzburg by minimum of 2-0 to qualify. Very possible we could fail to qualify on 12 pts.

...Stevie

1.) 09 Nov 2018 09:16:07
Unfortunately the two away defeats have given us a mountain to climb and the permutations of results in the remaining games may well go against us, but another two results and performances like last night will give the players huge belief and help boost and regain confidence after those earlier, disappointing European nights.
No matter what happens in the EL, this past month has seen some of the best performances and quality of football in recent years and BR and the team have been magnificent and long may it continue.

2.) 09 Nov 2018 10:13:59
Agree Oab, the football we are playing at the moment is a joy to watch. Just to add to permutations of outcome of group, am I right in thinking a 1-0 Leipzig win in Salzburg guarantees Salzburgs qualification and then Leipzig only need a victory at home to Rosenborg to go through themselves? Hope UEFA keep an eye on the next game in Salzburg πŸ€”.

3.) 09 Nov 2018 11:40:53
I think a 'Red Bull' double is almost a formality to qualify the way the group stands and the fixtures are scheduled; so we may even prioritize the cup final against Aberdeen on Dec 2nd when we face Rosenborg away three days earlier?
The disappointment of non CL qualification and the turmoil within the club in the summer certainly took it's toll on our form and harmony, but the manager and players are really focussed and determined these days; so if we maintain the current excellent standards and clear some dead-wood and add a couple of gems in January, watch us go.

4.) 09 Nov 2018 11:57:43
Stevie if Salzburg lose and we beat Rosenberg then a 2 nil victory for us against Salzburg would put us above them.

5.) 09 Nov 2018 12:15:42
I don't see Salzburg opening the door to get knocked out themselves to help anyone.

6.) 09 Nov 2018 12:26:01
If Leipzig beat Salzburg 1-0,Salzburg would beat them on head to head. Leipzig beat us on head to head. If we beat Salzburg 2-0 we beat them on head to head. We would all finish on 12 points and all won 1 out of 2 head to heads, so would probably go to goal difference, which we have a bit of catching up to do if we want to qualify. Clear as mud.

7.) 09 Nov 2018 12:54:09
I don't see Salzburg losing I think they win comfortably against Leipzig it's down to us to win away at Rosenberg. Then we could get away with a draw against Salzburg to qualify.

8.) 09 Nov 2018 13:28:06
agree - away win and home draw will do.

Agree with that ed, the Under 20 job would of been a step up from the U15 job he had at Liverpool and the job he ended up taking.

You are joking Molly, I'm sure they have at least 5 players that cost in the 10 to 15 million price bracket.

...Stevie

{Ed007's Note - RB Salzburg aren't owned or controlled by Red Bull any longer and they don't - or ever did - have any players anywhere near that price range.
Munas Dabbur joined last summer and is their record signing at 6.2 million Euros, followed by Erling Braut Haland who joined them this year for 4 million Euros - they spent a total of 10.7 million Euros on 6 players this summer while bringing in 39 million Euros in outgoing fees.}

If Simu could get back to the form he showed in his first 18 months he would be a regular fixture in the team, can't see why he can't get back to the player he was, maybe just lost a bit of confidence with a few dodgy appearances.
