Right going to put this opinion out there even though I know it won't be popular and will get shot down.

I don't think micky Johnstone is as good as people make out and don't think he will be a major player for Celtic in years to come.
I think he will be a squad player at best and will bounce about the edge of the squad until he leaves for English league one or bottom of champions.

Kev a think with game time he will be a great player for Celtic just needs games and experience.

Start of the season Kev he was looking great, up until his injury. I recon he'll need 2 years of a squad player regular game time to see if he makes the cut. He certainly has the potential. Plus it would be good to see another one of our own make it. Think about Forrest he's taken his time but he has to be one of the first names on the team sheet. Ryan Christie took his time. Young guys need time to grow in the game.

Same was said about Christie. There is the making of an amazing player there. He definitely has ability. Hopefully he has the drive to match it.

Think he needs to build-up much the same as Christie and KT did to cope with the treatment he will attract. No doubt he has skill, but needs to be stronger and more consistent when he comes back to hold down a place in this team.

It’s all about different opinions Kev. My personal opinion on MJ is he’s a terrific talent and has the potential to be a Celtic hero. Obviously he’s a little bit light weight but will fill out. A real exciting player who has great vision great ability to beat a player and capable of scoring goals too.

Maybe you're still upset about Sinclair not getting a sniff Kev83.

Can't agree with the Ryan Christie comparisons at all guys.
Christie had 5 years 1st team experience and was a Scottish cup winner before he was ready to play with us.
Even when he 1st broke through he wasn't easy pushed off the ball or bullied out of the game.
I seen a fair bit if him as my wife is from Inverness.

With MJ he is a total different shape to the likes of RC and Tierney. I don't think he will bulk up to any great existent to be honest.
I wouldn't say he has great vision either as he continually ignores better passes to go himself.

Christie wasnt one of our own lads.

Nothing to do with Sinclair AGG. At end if the day footballers come and go but at our club we should be replacing them with players who are as good if not better than the one being replaced.
When KT came in he was an instant step up in quality than Izzy and couldn't be held back any longer. I can't see that happening with MJ.
Would anyone be over the moon with MJ being Elyounoussis replacement for next season?

You could say the same about Forrest's lack of vision but he does ok.

Mickey Johnston puts me in mind of James Forrest and not just because of his injuries at a young age. I can see him developing into a good International footballer. He is fast and has an eye for a goal and once his build beefs out with maturity, Celtic could build a team around him.

The Mikey Johnston debate!
Every player or every person can bulk up or get faster or stronger.
There is no reason he can't full out with correct food and correct training.
The main problem is he has to want to do this it's a mindset and depends on how motivated he is the same for you and me. Do you just accept what you have and deal with it, or do you want to standout and improve yourself to be better and take responsibility. He is out injured that's what he should be doing as it's the best time. With gd advice proper nutrition it can be done but Mikey Johnston has to be in it for the long term for this to happen and he has to want to improve. .
He was doing great before his injury, looking stronger as it was starting to work, Lenny was giving him game time. Imo maybe one dribble to much a better pass rather than shoot but again before his injury that was coming together just nice so the advice from coaches was working then injury.

Im happy wihere mikey is even at this stage of his career reminds me of that maddison that's at Leicester he played on the left for the sheep and was brilliant at facing a man up and beating him with ease mikey's equally as good at that and he's got a goal in him, look at that maddison now world class. Mikey for me throughout the qualifiers and a good few games in to the season played brilliant at ibrokes as well. along with kris ajer him and mikey were our two best players he was just unfortunate with that injury.

Agreed
After rangers game and just before injury it was working for us and him.
