I have seen quite a few of the guys on here talking about the Poppy season. I have been a Celtic supporter all my life and i’m Also Ex forces so i will be wearing my poppy with pride this year the same as every other year.

{Ed007's Note - Good for you mate. As far as I'm concerned it's everybody's personal choice and nobody should be bullied into wearing one or not.
I say it every year, if you want to wear one then wear it and if you don't then don't, it's not difficult.}

Cheers Ed. It just seemed that some on here where trying to dictate about it.

{Ed007's Note - Nah man, we just kind of laugh at how worked up people get about it.}

The problem began when the sevconians adopted it as another way to prove how "British and loyal" they were to the armed forces. That hypocrisy sticks in people's throats.
My grandfather died during WW2 and I wear the poppy in memory of people like him not to score points.

I used to wear one to remember those true heroes who went off and gave their lives, without choice and who believed in their hearts that they were fighting for the freedom and well being of those back home. Real heroes. Now that it's supposed to represent every mercenary that ever got hurt in the oil fields of Arabia or the Heroin fields of Afghan, I give it a miss. As Ed says, each to their own.

Everybody has their own reason to wear one or not. It's the rubbish people come away with if you're not wearing one. My Grandfather was a Sergeant in the war and refused to wear one due to most of his men being used as cannon fodder which led to the last few being imprisoned at some German POW camp all due to orders from afar from men that had never seen the frontline. He would never talk much about the war as inside it had a devastating effect on him.

Wouldn’t wear 1 myself the things the British army did On Catholics in Belfast and Derry I just can never forgive. I remember as a kid I was up early 1 morning and I saw a British soldier out the window pissing in a milk bottle all laughing. They make me sick no harm to yas but it's just my opinion and probably half of north of Ireland’s to. But it’s Your choices and you shouldn’t care what any1 else thinks.
