Don't know if I am the only one but I wouldn't be over the moon with signing Yaya toure.
He ain't played a great amount of football the last 2 season and didn't exactly set the heather alight in Greece.

We don't need him.

Postion we don't need players in. 35 never kicked a ball for month's. Will need to listen to that YaYa/ Kolo song constantly. It's a no from me. Money could be spent better else where.

Brendans already said no marquee signings ( free or not am sure ya ya would be in that bracket? ) Toure would be a huge wage we don't need and worse than Defoe who we have all ridiculed. It's a no from me also .

Good thing it's not going to happen then.

I actually do think we need to add a bit of steel to the midfield but for me he's not played enough football the last 2 seasons.

But like Defoe 22 mins this season and the sevvies are creaming it.

Its amazing amount of folk more interested in how a song about a player will sound rather than the players ability. X-Factor has truly destroyed society.

He may not be the same player as a few seasons ago but worth a contract till end of season. Got to be better than some players we have.

You can't compare signing Defoe with signing Yaya, He has a very good collection of winners medals for a start, played for some of the biggest clubs around. His experience could be invaluable to our very young squad I'm sure. If you were to ask me would I rather have Broonie or Yaya sitting in front of the back 4 away to Valencia it would be Yaya every time for me like.

Although I don't see it happening.

Roy that guy struggled in Greece. He's played just 21 games in 2 seasons. Why is that if he has so much to offer?
Kenny dalgiesh has loads of medals should we give him a phone for up front?
How many times we got to be stung by these older legends coming u to us and totally flopping while fans say he must be better than we have.

Don't see the point in signing a 35 year old player, let them across the city cream their panties about stuff like that while we buy up and coming players who hopefully increase in value and whose best years are ahead of them.

Spot on kev it's nonsense anyway he'd be looking for a fortune and it wouldn't work surprised by the amount on here thinking it was a goer.

14 Jan 2019 19:39:52
I ain't bothered with having an experienced player or 2 in squad but I don't want us signing players that ain't kicked a ball in last couple years.
Sky just tweeted it's a load of bull any way.

Rodgersatwork Lubo Moravcik was 34 when we signed him.

{Ed007's Note - Ian Wright was about 35, Roy Keane was about 34 and Carlton Cole was 33ish when we signed them......

All im saying is not all players at that age bracket are done. There is still a few out there that can do a turn.

Dont know why we signed carlton cole though lol.

{Ed007's Note - Old Fairhill Proverb No.248:- For every Martine McCutheon there's 100 Patsy Palmers......

14 Jan 2019 20:23:37
Lubo was actually 33 when he signed. He is also quoted every time one of these old guys come up.
Ian Wright
Freddie Ljungberg
Charlton Cole
Roy Keane
Steven Presley and the list goes on.

Kev I think we have missed the boat with Kenny he retired about 30 odd years ago mate 😂😂.

17.) 14 Jan 2019
14 Jan 2019 20:29:27
As far as why he never got a game in Greece Kev I have no idea mate, I just think when you have so many young guy's as we do. it can do no harm to have someone like that around, then again I'm a plumber so what do I know haha.

18.) 14 Jan 2019
14 Jan 2019 20:38:24
Aye but he has a great collection of medals, He's played for some massive clubs and his experience could be invaluable to our young squad.

Spot on Kev.

20.) 14 Jan 2019
14 Jan 2019 20:53:42
I'm not saying that all players of that age are finished or don't have anything to offer us. However, my personal opinion is that I prefer signing players with a sell on value.

21.) 14 Jan 2019
14 Jan 2019 20:58:49
He has retired though mate so why would we ask him?

22.) 14 Jan 2019

We have one Taore at Celtic and it is enough.

23.) 14 Jan 2019
14 Jan 2019 22:06:28
We have enough midfielder let alone another mid 30 something with little play time recently. We need to concentrate on the defence which is a major issue which needs sorting.

We’re trying to develop. Signing old players keeps young players out the team and stifles development. It also sends a message to all those players reaching the end of their careers that they can come to us when they’re past it, for a laugh. I’d rather send out a message saying, if you want to come here, you’d better be fkn good cos you won’t get in the team unless you are.
