Does anyone else not think with all these project players that the plan is to build a team capable of securing 10iar. Rangers will get stronger and we can't afford to gamble 6-7 mill on players that might not gel. It's ust a thought but maybe that's the long term goal. Build a team slowly. However i do feel like most on here that our defence severly lacks investment. Still unsure why we bought a player ineligible for europa. However if i was manager we would be pish lol.

As a club I would hope that not only are we looking at improving the present squad but also ensuring we will be competitve in years to come.

Like the man utd class of 92? Certainty hope so but they also had another 5/ 6 really good players to help compliment the prospects coming through, think we'r still 2/ 3 really good players short but its defiantly the way to go.

I don't think the Clubs current signing policy is at fault, The fault is the current market prices along with wages. Unfortunately even if we want to go out and spend £7m on a player the contract for that player will most likely also be £7m over 4 years. It's a difficult position to be in because it can be a huge amount of cash squandered if the player doesn't perform. We certainly need experience to help our youngsters/ projects along but unfortunately todays insane prices and wages are having a huge bearing on what players we can bring in. Last year we got it bang on with our signings and were playing fast flowing football so it can be done. Hopefully we can find some hidden gems that are experienced and not out of our price range but it won't be easy. I think guys like Ntcham, Kouassi, along with youngsters like Johnstone, Miller etc have great futures ahead of them. I know December wasn't our best month and players understandably tired after a mammoth effort these last 18 months but we are in a good place on and off the field. A good winter break and 2 or 3 additions will help us along nicely.

problems are

1) we cant/ can't afford to hang on to the best players
2) we take a punt on cheaper risky players - ones that work out stay others get loaned off or bought out for a lower fee.

But how far would we get if we had this starting 11.

Forster
Lustig (fit) Simo VDV Tierney
Roberts Brown Wanyama Sinclair (on form)
Hooper or Griff and Dembele

would we have beaten byern or psg?

I am not a fan of this 'Ten In A Row' talk as I've supported Celtic long enough over the decades to know the dangers of complacency and over confidence and have seen us suffering some setbacks, shocks and sadness along the way.
Historically, we have failed to strengthen from a position of strength and we must learn from past experiences and strive to improve at every opportunity and the manager knows this.
Having said that, we have never been in such a healthy position domestically and BR will no doubt have long term objectives/ plans.
We have plenty of young potential and talent at present, but we will add quality and experience as and when it becomes available, however, it is not always easy to lure good players to this football backwater where our rivals have practiced a sharp 'Brexit' for years and our co-efficient is as low as Barry Ferguson's IQ; but we still seem to manage.

Just saw the plans for Chelseas new Stadium. Cost = £1bn. At our AGM PL said we can't go ahead with building the new South Stand as it would be too expensive at a cost of £40m. That's the difference when you have Billionaires willing to throw cash at your Club. If only our Billionaires were Arabs 😂.

Or Russian Stan, Desmond is a billionaire but not in Romanov’s league unfortunately, we also don’t have the TV revenue from Sky, Chelsea don’t have our fan base either .

They were irrelevant until he got involved Drewzy. I dread to think where Celtic would be with that kind of cash. We would outgrow earth.

That's astonishing TTTS. I saw it on the Mail Online yesterday looks incredible. Will be some amazing Stadiums in London when they are all complete. I'd imagine London will have the best Stadiums on the planet by 2020.

Bribhoy, what's your basis for thinking Rangers will get stronger . They are weaker on the field than this time in 2013, Their board is weaker, isn't King and maybe the whole club about to be cold - shouldered . They worry about because on the day of verdict they suddenly appointed youth coach as manager indefinitely .
If are worry is just about a 5 yr club, then we have no worries.
