New fixtures announced today. I know there's the obvious ones to look at but my eyes were drawn to 13th December. Celtic v Hamilton on the Wednesday night.

Accies will probably bring about 100 fans, the game will be a drab 2-0 win as our players start to tire after a busy schedule hanging on for the derby and a week in the sun.

Surely now is the time to get right behind shaking this league up. Playing the same teams 3 or 4 times each season
(especially when I know a hot bovril is the only thing saving me from frostbite) is a needless turn-off.

The League Cup has expanded, the top 4 have European fixtures and a winter break has been introduced. An 18-team top flight with a 34 game season would make things a bit more interesting.

If I knew we were only playing Hamilton the once at CP a season then there's much less chance the miserable climate would put me off.

I wonder if most folk agree?

{Ed007's Note - What's with the picking on Accies? Gggrrrrrrrrr......

Maybes unfair of me there Ed007 but it's rarely a classic. Apart from the 8-1 game I don't think we've had decent match since they came back up.

{Ed007's Note - I know what you mean but they've made things a bit difficult for us at NDP although a lot of that is down to the pitch imo.}

Partick thistle came on a wet Monday night just before Xmas and at least tried to play football Hearts at homes a great way to kick off the league defence! How's our Ed have you been enjoying the close season or is all the rumours doing your box in?

{Ed007's Note - It's not that bad this window.... yet.}

Celtic and Rangers not visiting clubs twice a season - what sort of impact would that have on the finances of certain clubs? Genuine question, and I'm glad I'm not the guy responsible for shaking the league up. In saying that, his plan is just to hope Rangers get better. The first port of call for me, would to have a 'summer league'.

That's good Ed how many times this summer has someone's paperboys dugs vet seen Robbie Keane at Celtic park? Jim how does a summer league work when there's the Euros world cups and champ leagues.

{Ed007's Note - Robbie Keane and Shay Given at the burger van outside Celtic Park!}

We'll worry about Ross County's and Kilmarnock's World Cup players if we ever get to that stage. As for the CL, there's ways to work it, didn't do Malmo or Molde any harm. It's more about the league not Celtic. But of course, a better league, higher attendances and more lucrative TV deals would help Celtic too 😉.

The Irish League is now played through the summer and look how well Dundalk did last season. Read an interesting article on it recently it said already a better quality of football being played and crowds are up.

I definitely think expanding the leagues but rather than the spl reverting to summer football the lower leagues do so this while introducing colt teams, think in doing so more crowds at smaller clubs and then come the spl season crowds might increase as you'd maybe get fans of Albion rovers going to Hamilton Motherwell etc.

16 team top league would be best imo.

Hearts having kyle lafferty in there squad will be a laugh next season, seriously though he will probably find some form then accidentally in purpose miss games against rangers.
