Anyone know why Roberts is not in the squad?

No; but he will be a big loss as Forrest and GMS don't offer the same threat or impact and when you add the absence of Armstrong, Rogic and Griffiths we are stretched up front. We should still have enough to win this tough tie, but just looking at the bench highlights the lack of quality back-up.

So Forrest does not offer the same threat. Thankfully BR picks the team.

{Ed007's Note - Hahahahahah Talk about MOTD fever! One swallow does not a summer make.}

I think forrest has contributed quite well this year. Scored a few and has a good amount of assists.

{Ed007's Note - He's s still far too inconsistent for a first team place. Bitton never out a foot wrong today and set up Lustig beautifully - is that him back in the good books who deserves to start every week now?}

Around 11 assists and 6 goals fae forrest that's a good return so far fae a winger.
But agree he still drifts out of games a little to much but I'd say this is his best season for a long time.
Think biton is a good player who got lazy and got the kick up the rear he deserved. Since he's came back in he's looked good.

{Ed007's Note - Forrest's decision making doesn't seem to have improved with age and experience. He turns 26 this summer, he's not a young player any more and needs to do a lot more during games, his lack of tracking back is one of the reasons people are noticing Lustig struggling, he's not getting any help like where KT and Sinclair work as a unit on the left. Forrest has been poor for weeks and had a good game today, it's the story of his career.
I will admit Forrest has improved slightly but he's no better than squad players we have like Henderson or McGregor, and he's far less consistent than those two. Forrest will do us a job in Scotland but that's it and you could easily replace him without disrupting the squad.
I don't know one supporter who doesn't have a RW on their signing wishlist and that says a lot to me.}

Hindsight is 20-20 and glad to be wrong on this occasion. Delighted by (and for) Forrest today who showed what he can do - however I bet it wasn't just me that was surprised - as this type of display has been very rare in the five years or so he has been in the squad and his last few appearances have been verging on ineffective.
The whole team were excellent today against a robust and sometimes dirty opponent and a very lenient referee and this is certainly shaping up to be an incredible season and one I have not enjoyed so much in decades. (With or without James) ?

{Ed007's Note - The ref was very poor today, that tackle on Sinclair at the centre circle was a red card any day of the week for me. At one point I thought, he's dishing out a few yellows to them but the first tasty one from Broony or Tierney would have been a straight red.}

I agree ed, not consistent enough and he seems to play within himself at times, maybe scared of an injury. But at 26, he should be going for it every game. His pace is his biggest asset but seems to hold back sometimes so I think we need back up at least or use him as back up and sign a new player.

{Ed007's Note - I'd be happy enough to see him used as back up I suppose.}

another mob of dirty bastards kicking us off the park, it wouldn't have happened to o'neill's team, and that's no meant to be a slight on todays team, i'd just like to see a bit more steel signed to protect our flair players.

Forrest had a great game, have to admit Bitton has been very good too recently.

Vigours should have walked for the sinclair tackle never mind the pull later after lustig was booked for same thing very inconsistent.

Spot on with your assessment Ed. Forrest is frustrating the majority of the time and his work rate particularly tracking back is poor as is his decision making going forward. In saying that he was up for it today and whilst he did not have to track back much his decision making was very good.

Remember not that long ago Spurs allegedly wanted him but I don't recall many clubs snuffing about when he was in limbo with his contract situation last year.

The boy has great qualities but doesn't use them consistently. Hope we get PR signed longer as I worry how Forrest will be next season of he has no real challenge for his position.

Credit where it's due though today to him.

Ed I know it's a bit left field but I heard from a good source that sevco are really struggling to keep the lights on till season ticket time, so why, if they're not 100% positive, say they resigned? Surely they must have a letter or an e-mail confirming all of this or are they not just crap at football, they're also crap at admin.

{Ed007's Note - The club is one of the worst ran clubs in the UK, they are a laughing stock and a shambles from the top of the marble staircase to where William Taube was murdered.
It's no secret that TRIFC need funding (soft loans) to complete the season - there was a warning in their last accounts confirming it. The problem is King doesn't have it, Jamie on here has more money than Paul Murray and Dougie Park is getting peed off needing to help fill the void every month and there is now a serious downturn in his business as more and more people refuse to use any his businesses, Park's son Graeme sees the connection to TRIFC as toxic to their other businesses over the longer term.
A large haulage/logistics company from Lanarkshire recently settled their account and cancelled and returned their fuel cards to Parks for refuelling at their garages and informed them in writing that they will not be renewing their leases of executive vehicles all thanks to that moron from the Sons of Strewth thinking he's a big man.
Would the SFA/SPFL have let Accies run the club they way they have TRIFC?}

Class Ed. That's the very man I've heard is putting all the money in, the other bears are not getting a mention. And young junior Parks is seeing all his inheritance going up the Swanny, with no chance of a return. Serves them right, the peepuls time has come right enough.

{Ed007's Note - I have family connections that have known Dougie Park since him and I think it was his dad had 3 buses running out of Warren Road/Cadzow Estate in Hamilton that ran on red diesel. They have done deals (legitimate and possibly a bit questionable on all sides) with him to help regenerate areas of Hamilton for well over 20 years or more.
One thing I do know is that Dougie Park is a miserable sod, he likes to know exactly where very penny of his is going. I remember stories years ago on long journeys he docked his drivers a 50p a day to cover them taking toilet breaks whether they did or didn't.
He doesn't have the money required to challenge Celtic but he is probably the one person who could make the tough decisions needed at Ibrox if the fans would accept the position it left them in. If there was someone going to invest untold millions they'd have done it before now, Park could do a job like Milne at Aberdeen or Budge at Hearts, run the club well but within it's means.}

someone somewhere is propping them up ed, i wouldn't be surprised if it ever came out that they had received secret sfa or scottish government money, there's only so far these temporary loans can go, and also no one in authority seems to be saying anything about the rules they must be breaking.

{Ed007's Note - You need to stop reading these begging bowl blogs lol. There's no limit to how far soft loans go as long as they keep coming in. Until we bring in any kind of FFP Regs to the league it's too easy for questionable financial shenannigins to go on. If Scotland had brought in FFP Regs like UEFA and England have TRIFC would be in a shitload of trouble and facing serious sanctions, look at what goes on at Notts Forest and Leeds every couple of months as examples.}

i don't read any blogs, i'm good at maths and these wee 1m pound at a time loans can't be adding up to what has been put in to keep them afloat since 2012, the funny handshaker brigade will be involved somewhere along the line, at the end of the day there will always be corrupt hands turning a blind eye to keeping that rotten to the core bigoted orginisation going.
