To me the treble is more important than the 4 million Chelsea are offering.
I think we have a better chance of winning it if Gordon is in goal rather than any other keeper in our squad

6m = bye bye for me.

Even with our worst keeper the trebble should be ours. We just score more goals

Totally agree. It's just a bit of a shame Chelski came in so late.

I think we should be driving across the point to Chelsea what an inconvenience this is.

CG is far from irreplaceable but with such little time left in the window it's highly unlikely we could replace our first choice.

Also with potential CL qualifiers in the summer we would prefer to have a settled keeper.

Money bags chelsea can afford at the least 5m and if CG is happy being a cup keeper then catch ya.

You've lost me with your logic guys. Craig Gordon after Forster and Boruc is the best keeper I've seen at Celtic Park. And you want to let an international goalkeeper and excellent shot stopper with champions league experience go for a paltry £4-5M to a shower of bastards that are loaded with no back up?

{Ed007's Note - He's 34 though mate and still has a horrendous injury record hanging over him which will still raise alarm bells with Chelsea's medical staff.}

Eds right. And to boot, seems he has a black out area at his near post. Most keepers can stop shots, imo its the reading the game that makes them top class

At last Ed
a bit of common sense nothing split this board more than CG at one point in the minority a always held him in high regard but now 4 mill for a guy who is one bad fall on a plastic surface from being finished again as an ex goalie every time he plays on a surface like that it's because of a lack of activity that has him gaining

Take the money, you with your bad knee, me with my dodgy back could play in goals crikey and get us there easy the only thing stopping a treble is a bad decision going against us IMO

CG ain't no Boruc or FF never was take the dough, if DDV, Bailly or Fasan can't do a job why are we carrying them?

Like the idea of the boy Ward from Liverpool who was fab at Aberdeen (y)

He been very rarely out injured in the last 2 seasons though ed.

{Ed007's Note - That makes no difference - his physical weaknesses will still show up during any medical and on his medical records - one bad fall could still wreck his career.}

I think his performance on Sunday showed how distracted he is with the speculation - and you can't blame him.
If the club are being offered big money for a keeper who will probably leave for nothing at the end of his contract then I can see it being good business to let him go.
However, we do not have quality cover and January is not the best time to bring in a top keeper and a stop-gap might have to be the short term solution.
Personally I really find the interest from Chelsea very strange when they never usually look at Scottish players - especially veteran goalies with an injury history - and could afford any keeper they want from the top leagues of Europe and world football?
It' almost qualifies as a conspiracy theory ha ha.

{Ed007's Note - I was surprised to see Gordon start yesterday with everything going on but fair play to him for manning up and playing. I'm sure Rodgers would have been sympathetic if Gordon has said he wasn't mentally right to take his place.}

One bad fall or slip or tackle can ruin any players career.
We don't need the money for him.
But to walk away with a treble to finish this season off would be worth knocking back the money for him.
We have a settled squad that in bulldozing everything in front of us.
Unless he says he wants to leave and puts in a request then I wouldn't entertain any bid.

Think if Gordon goes it'll be a case of the big yellow taxi, till the end of the season

Gordon probably knows this could be his last big payday but brendan wants him to stay so don't think it will happen

Sounds like he's off to me. We were saying he's not for sale to start with, now it's he'll only go if his valuation is met. Surely we've been working on a new keeper since the first bid if that's the attitude

Spot on shug he is always beaten at his near post and dodgy at crosses into the box.

4m for a 34 year old? id say ok we want it payed in full now no installments incase he breaks down, we could play stevie wonder in goal and still win the treble. we all know that clown lawwell isn't shy in taking money either, im sure our friends at barcelona could help us out with a keeper in the meantime.

It isn't the point JB67-he's the best keeper we've had in my 50 years watching the Hoops with exception of Forster and Boruc. Letting our best players go isn't why I bought a season ticket for the last 25 years, Where has all the talk about Gordon breaking down coming from? Two years and he hasn't missed a feckn game. I know I'm firmly in the CG camp monority including Ed on the let him go side but I'm starting to get depressed listening to the take the cash argument. I know everybody has their price but £4m for CG at this moment in time when we've earned what we've earned and BR has spent relatively feck all isn't the time. 🍀

nobody said he isn't a bad keeper, and breaking down can happen to any player a freak landing here or there just look what happened to the young hearts boy on sunday, the fact we got him for nothing and taking his age into account he's not going to be first choice for the next few years it makes good business sense to take the money on offer.
