Not too often I agree with John Collins but he is bang on the money in saying Celtic have been let down in europe by other Scottish teams, because as UEFA base coefficients on the Country average our coefficient is lower because of the other Scottish teams failure to win more games in europe. Some on here might not like what I say next, but Celtic were better served by our neighbours across the city who helped build up Scotland's coefficient (remember the days when we had TWO CL places?) So until the other teams can help us Celtic need to gain as many wins in europe as possible to up our coefficient, this is not helped in the qualifying rounds when only 1 coefficient point is given for a win and 1/2 point for a draw, ideally Celtic need to win ALL SIX qualifiers to gain 6 coefficinet points, then on reaching group stages we get 4 bonus points, therefore Celtic would start on 10 coefficient points before the group games begin, a big ask, but surely Celtic are capable of this.

Have you looked at celtics records recently mate in the CL last years was a shambles in particular then there's the horrific away results over the years can't just blame other teams for that although I agree that other team results don't help the matter

@Johnston. Nobody was more critical than me about last year CL qualifiers, Ronny just changed things too quick. But to say our record is horrific is a bit harsh. We have punched above our weight. Look at Man city, hundreds of millions spent and they struggle. Also if u look at CL away games very few teams win way from home. Its usually only the elite that do so.

its not to often I agree with john collins and this is one of the times I don't agree with him,why should celtic worry about co-efficients,ok so they have to play more qualifing games so what ,so what if they've got to play the champions of wales or iceland or the republic,or whoever,if they can't get past then hell mend them, last years CL fiasco was down to RD,plain and simple ,picking the wrong team and playing the wrong formation.

Agree on one point Aindoh. Celtic need these preliminary games as a build up to European football. It's not the same as playing SPFL teams. I can't agree about the Ronnie comment though, bit harsh considering he was rushed in at the last minute to take over Lennon's team. Let's judge him after this years campaign. Only fair isn't it?

What I meant BigRab,is when Ronnie came in he tried to change the system and team selection too fast,he should have been more conservative, thats why I blame him for the CL fiasco, this year hopefully we will see the benefits of Ronnies methods after having a season to get everything in place, its just his team selections leave me a bit nonplussed sometimes.
