Fraser Forster is due to have a medical later on today before finalising a return, not sure if it is a loan or permanent but every report I have read it says nothing about a loan just that Southampton are desperate to get him off the books, great signing more like this please.

Can the big man play left back.

the big man was great when he left us. he has went from englands No1 to languishing in a poor Southampton team. WHY? . i please hope we are not getting another treatment table surfer looking for a pay day to do nothing. we can't get caught out again.

Doubt it Marco but he can play in goals were he is definitely needed.

It’s a permanent deal guys. Fee not disclosed but I’d guesstimate it being minimal around the £1m mark.
He was probably on a decent wage there aswell nothing disclosed about what he’s on here but probably around the £25k once agreed.
31 good age for keeper, if he can replicate form from 1st spell and before his injury at the Saints it will be good business from the club.

I can't see us paying him as much as Southampton tbh robroy.

Would have made a difference in the cluj game. Need these signings much earlier but still a great bit of business.

BBC reckons it’s a loan deal. find out soon enough.

Loan deal for a bench warmer. Doesn't matter what he done for us in the past. He's been very poor since his injury. Better than what we have very debatable.

Just seen it supposed to be a loan deal.

Gggg if he can replicate the form he had with us Southampton would have been playing him.

Another cheap option, will be a good signing IF he regains form, why not sign someone IN form or been having good form?

Guess you guys wouldn't have wanted to sign Chris Sutton when we did eh? 4 choice in a bad Chelsea team.

22 Aug 2019 11:12:20
If he is still a good keeper, Southampton wouldn't be letting him go,

This for me is a massive massive signing
goalkeepers don’t tend to go bad with age like players do and at 31 he can easy be our number 1 for another 5 years he was absolutely colossal against Barcelona and every other game major reason we broke the record for games without conceding and going unbeaten this is another step forward on way to 9iar a big step up on Bain and Gordon, Meling now and a right back and I’d be happy throw in a cdm or left winger and that’s a bonus.

all yous boys moaning need to have a word with yourself, he is only 31 and has his best years infront of him, he's won league titles and was southamptons number 1 for a couple of years. we currently have two keepers, one of which lennon didn't give a game at hibs and the second couldn't get a game at sunderland, if we signed degea there would still be moaners.

Some of these comments are unreal the big man getting some stick he's not even signed give the lad a chance he might be past it but I bet he's not he's clearly fell out of love with the game but back in the team and in front of the fans that adored him he will prove all the haters wrong. I for one welcome the big man with open arms great signing!

To be fair Craig the only reason Gordon wasn't playing at Sunderland was injuries not ability.
Though he's rotten now.

Yes and do you know what else, forster lost his position due to a injury. the same people moaning are the same people who would have been moaning when we replaced forster with Gordon. great signing in my eyes.

Again I'll ask why we need to sign an out off form player? Why not a young keeper that's not lost his form for 2 seasons . Be Mcgeady and Hooper next.

20.) 22 Aug 2019
22 Aug 2019 12:24:15
Craig no he didn't. He had a poor time with a few high profile mistakes after his injury.
I like this signing bit you need to get your facts right mate.

22 Aug 2019 12:26:00
Like I've already mentioned Iwannabe I take it you wouldn't have signed Chris Sutton then?
Couldn't get a game at Chelsea and well out of form?

22.) 22 Aug 2019
22 Aug 2019 12:31:33
To all the people that say sign you keepers with potential like who? Surely we need players that are first team ready? That's all the haters shout for, so who are these young ambitious keepers we should be signing? . I'm waiting?

@kev Sutton is siff as he was brilliant with previous clubs and it didn't work out at Chelsea. Forster was good with Southampton then lost form and his place.
