Two rumours that have been brought up are Mulumbu from Kilmarnock and McLean from West Brom (again) . ED's what's your thoughts on these rumours at the current stage.

{Ed007's Note - I can't think of one single reason why we would we be interested in 31-year-old Mulumbu, a deal for McClean is a lot more likely.}

My thoughts exactly ED got enough quality in the middle of the park as it is, do you think any sort of deal will materialise for McLean?

{Ed007's Note - I think it'll depend on the fee WBA will ask for, relegation for them will definitely help us and there might even be a clause in McClean's contract that covers that. Remember he is also going into the last year of his contract at The Hawthorns as well.}

Where are you on Mclean ED? I posted earlier no for me, for various reasons.

{Ed007's Note - It's a no-brainer for me. McClean would be a step up from Jonny Hayes so there right away he'd improve us and give us a different option on the left. He's better defensively than Sinclair and will track back a lot more, he's a better tackler than Sinclair and has a better engine. A couple of seasons ago he was one of the fastest players in the EPL even beating the likes of Hazard some weeks with his top speeds during games. The fact he's a supporter is just a bonus, you know he'll go that extra mile for the Club.
If certain low-life scumbags have a problem with McClean signing for Celtic because of his politics then it's their problem, McClean and his family will just do what they normally do and ignore them and the Club will deal with any security requirements.}

If, and it's a big if, we could be sure off field matters would be taken care of then yes. But can you guarantee it? he would be a tidy addition that's a cert. As i said earlier the boy would shed blood for us.

{Ed007's Note - It's all water off a duck's back to McClean and his family, do you really think that the player would turn down a move to Celtic because of other people's bigotry? Only last month he said:

"It's always been a dream of mine. If I retire from football and never get to pull on the green-and-white jersey and run out at Celtic Park, it will be a massive regret for me. It’s a dream I have never shied away from expressing. If that dream did come true, which I hope it does, it would mean a lot to me and fingers crossed it can happen.}

Never doubted he would face it up, as i say this boy has steel goolies, and with the support of his family it might be okay. Always nice to see a dream come true for a proper Celtic fan.

Of course the sad fact of this is the shocking neglect of our fan base in Ireland going back twenty-thirty years. Sheedy, Keane etc all Celtic fans who were let slip.

Is there any genuine interest from Celtic ED?

{Ed007's Note - There does seem to be, Ken.}

I know he is a Celtic fan but James McClean isn’t any better than what we have and will not get a minutes peace if he comes up here, would rather spend the money on Paddy tbh .

{Ed007's Note - So you don't think McClean's better than Jonny Hayes?}

He is better than Hayes, but not better than Sinclair, Forrest or Paddy imo, Hayes is a squad player when the others are fit, James McClean is a decent player but nothing overly special, i’d rather we spent £7m on Paddy than £5m on McClean .

{Ed007's Note - Well if he's better than Hayes he's better that what we've got.}

The fact mcclean can also help out at left back means he would get game time. He would play in goals if he could. The fight he gives when he plays for Ireland is unreal. He would give his all for us.

{Ed007's Note - I think some people under estimate McClean as a player.}

Players with ability who have a love for Celtic should be a good buy . McClean even better still as he is at the top or maybe just over the top peak of his career .
He would also add a little excitement to the fans from the Northern half of Ireland.
Captain Brown wouldn't have to teach him the history of Celtic.
