Just a general point on how quick your fortunes can turn:
Paddy roberts ran riot second half of last season, fast forward to now and he's been hindered by disjointed pre season, indifferent form and injuries. Bit gutted for the wee man, but this season won't boost his city first team aspirations. On another note James Forrest- a few big goals this year.

makes you kind of glad we didn't pay 12 million for him but all in all a very good footballer who improves our team.

I think it is his poor pre season that has probably brought on these injuries IC. Everyone else was getting game time and a proper work out through the summer while he was sitting on planes and benches. It's a shame we didn't get him in earlier. Credit to JF though who has certainly been our star performer this season.

{Ed007's Note - You've hit the nail on the head, Stan regarding Roberts' preseason. While we were playing competitive matches and Euro qualifiers he was travelling the world sitting on City's bench.
If you remember back to last year Roberts had the same stuttering start to the season because he was behind everyone else fitness and sharpness wise, how many competitive games had we played before Roberts signed this summer? For the first couple of months of the season he's playing catch up with the rest of the squad who done a full preseason with us and played CL and SPFL games.}

It might allow us to pick him up permanently in the summer.

There is always an excuse for Paddy Roberts, I am not sure the Celtic fan base ever had the same sympathy for one of own home produced stars James Forrest who unless he is giving a MOTM performance can expect to hear " go to f. k Forrest you are useless"

The pre season definitely didn’t help him, mind you no one has looked overly sharp so far! Bit unfair maybe, still unbeaten, Top of the league, silverware in the bag and a CL away win.

Discounted bid for Paddy maybe?

who is to say forest isn't play so well because there's competition for his place.

as long as we are winning Roberts/ forest what's the diff.

The criticism Forrest has received was wholly justified. He has failed to reach the potential he showed. His final ball was arm tricuspid and he never scored enough goals.

You don't get a by because you are home produced. I'm home produced, can I get a game.

Forrest has upped his game at last. It's only taken 7 years. He needs to keep it up or he will lose his place, which is the way we moved forward. Home produced does trump talent.

He has no one to blame but himself for chronic inconsistency and no one to rely on to keep in the team but himself also.

Paddy out for 3 months so let's see Forrest keep up his form with no competition. I am more of competitive threat than Hayes.

Over to you James, show everyone you can maintain form. Be a nice change for everyone concerned.
