Any truth in this Ed? Seems too random to be made up.

{Ed007's Note - It seems to be true but we'll need to apply for a work permit under the 'exceptional talent' clauses (like Wanyama) as he doesn't meet the requirements. I don't see any problems with it though but there's always that possibility.}

Never heard of him. That says nothing about him but outside celtic ma knowledge is limited, infact it's limited even inside celtic haha.

Good stuff. Glad to see we are still after players outwith the EPL!

I'm surprised a Russian team is willing to sell their rising star for £2.5/ 3 million. Although having seen the way some of the fans behave over there, I'd imagine he'd prefer to ply his trade in Glasgow.

Wanyama mark II, good to see signing good young players. Reckon Toure has provided any input on this youngster?

He must be some prospect if we are spending 3m on a 19yr old imo. Although looking at him he's a hellova lot skinnier than big vic was so can't really compare him.

That was my thinking Shug. BR isn't afraid to spend money though! Can't comment on the player but I'd expect him to be getting in on the first team action sooner rather than later for that price. With the lead we have though I can't see why we shouldn't be able to bed him in.

Ed, this appears to be probable, and a fair amount of money, anywhere outside the financial utopia of England. Two questions, with your knowledge and contacts, is this guy a prospect? and do you think there could be more signings with Europe next year in mind?
I ask because, if this is true, this will be the first time I can remember that we are trying to strengthen from a position of strength, unnecessarily.
This would reinforce the premise that as a club, we are now serious about competing at a higher level than previously thought acceptable.

{Ed007's Note - I'd never heard of Eboue till yesterday but when you read up on him - even without listening to the Celtic experts on him who suddenly appeared - he seems to be a highly rated prospect. Rodgers has said that any signing this window will be signed with the CL qualifiers in mind and even though it's difficult to get deals done in January I don't think Eboue will be the last arrival this month.}
